Bumblebee = GREAT.
I do not like the '74 version because of the yellow missles, un-transparant windows and ugly legs and feet. The 2008 version is better in so many ways.

oh and Rikkomba, a Alpha Trion Gallery has been posted already.
I do greatly look forward to a more bulked up BB than the twiggy one that just came out, and for once I have to tip my hat by making the upgrades BB truely an upgraded BB instead of a repaint with a new grill.
And Takara, please fix here before you send her here!

And as for `08 BB, well, I think we've all already agreed that he is "made of win" so I imagine he will sell VERY well when he hits the stores.

Pity, though, that it would be hard to have a holo-driver for her if she was in a sequel. I still think Arcee could've been Mikaela's Guardian Transformer, like Bumblebee is to Sam.

Thanks for finding the alternate links Jaz-Zen, I changed the news post and even credited you.

'74 BB looks like ass compared to '08, it is sad really but at least I know which one I might consider buying.

i couldn't agree more!
...but if you think about product placement, it makes sense. Chevrolet isn't making money off sales of a '74 model car. They wanna push the '08 model as hard as they can b/c that's where the money is gonna come from ...even if that means making the old car look like poop on a stick.

The link is fixed and I say thanks, The side by side BBs truely confirms my original statement.
Still, my first car was a '81 Camaro, and '74 BB's car sculpt is pretty much dead on to my old car.
with that said, I will have to get a couple and some white and blur paint for some kitbashing(I wonder who's head I can get to fit on him). Yes white and blue to homage my old car.
Then black with blue highlights to commorate the paint job I wanted that car to have. I wonder how it would effect this toy to have the roof removed? I always dreamed of making him a convertible.

It would be a smart move on Hasbro's part if classics were to return after the movie stuff.

I'm still trying to decide with version of Arcee is better, the new deluxe version or the energon with a cool blue repaint.
The bike modes both look equally good, although I don't know about any differences in scale.
As far as robot mode goes, I think the deluxe version has a nicer body design especially since she doesn't have the gimpy mid-forearm hands the engergon version has and her crossbow looks alot better then the oversized energon bow does, but the deluxe's face just looks so butt ugly.

And, hey, Shadowman, as Irahaman reminds us, this movie and its two sequals are as much about product placement as they are about the story itself, so I think its highly probable that all, or at least most, of the TFs in the first movie will get new forms in both the 2nd *and* 3rd movies, and other TFs not in the 1st movie will be introduced in the 2nd and 3rd. Heck, as far as I know there's not even a guarantee that GM will be the car company associated with the future movies.
So, on the one hand, Hasbro will have all of these movie toy molds from the 1st movie that they might wish to reuse in the 2nd movie (maybe `08 BB repainted black with yellow stripes/highlights, instead of yellow with black stripes). But on the other hand, there will be a car company, even if it is GM, which would probably like to have different cars profiled.
So the likelihood that Arcee, if she is in the 2nd movie, will have a different vehicle form, probably a car, is pretty high, in my opinion.

Me too. I think these come out in mid July.

...which means someone should start cloning and selling dinosaurs so we can see Grimlock in the sequels!

I love '74 Bumblebee, he's adorable and a great figure.
'08 Bumblebee takes all of the original's best and makes it fantastic.
MUST. OWN.

It's a terrible, monstrous design, and she looks like a half living, half dead zombie.
It's a horrifying figure. Ugh.
Posted by Skowl on June 3rd, 2007 @ 3:36pm CDT
I still like Arcee, and I have a feeling fans would be alot more forgiving of the figure if she was actually in the movie, and we had some CG renders to go from. I hope she makes it into a sequel, Autobots need a biker chick.

Skowl wrote:I'll agree with just about everyone here. The New Bumblebee looks amazing - I never thought they would be able to design a toy so movie-acurate, especially a deluxe-sized one, but there it is.

No, I have to be honest here. Even with her in the film, I'd still hate her. Render, no render, that's one ugly bot. Some may like her, and more power to 'em, but she's one figure I wouldn't have purchased, in film or otherwise.

The Camaro on the other hand, is made of win and awesome. It'll make an excellent addition to "Bad Mother Truckers"' Golden Brigade.

It does not help that he has the older BB mis-transformed in bot mode.

Arcee= though.

Bumblebee, on the other hand, is pretty cool....at least the 2008 one. I might get the other one for my son, but 2008 camero is the one for me.
