Given the slow nature of this Sunday's news, we bring you a couple more additional images of the Takara Tomy Transformers Unite Warriors Groove (see more here), part of the UW-03 set Guardian/Defensor. The images below are mirrored from TFYuki's Twitter account, and show off the bikeformer next to its Legends class Hasbro counterpart and combined with the Aerialbots gestalt Superion. Check them out!

Those wheel halves, look so silly on his wrists, they ALWAYS make me think that he turns into a trike or a chariot... this is subconscious stuff, I can't help it. Bet it would look cool with the wheels conjoined like regular though.

Big groove seems to have a simple yet brillant way of transforming the rear wheel. And by the looks of it, he has a kickstand. I've missed that detail until now. I'd still like to see legends Groove taking a quick test spin of his deluxe counterpart.

I really wish Hasbro had kept the idea of offering 5 limbs per team so the leftovers could be mixed and matched if you didn't like one of the other offerings.

Does Groove look silly and out of place? Yes.

Would I buy it and use it on a combiner? Yes, I would probably kick blades to the curb, as I can't stand the problem in his shoulder port.

Here's hoping we see Biggroove stateside eventually.

Actually, Streetwise doesn't follow the "sterile white" motif of the rest of his teammates either in the Hasbro version. Takara's may be a screen accurate gray, but Hasbro's is an off-white, closer to Silverbolt and Breakdown. As always, don't be fooled by Hasbro's highly photoshopped promotional images. Either way you go, Streetwise is the odd limb out in terms of color scheme.

He is a lovely shade of creme fraiche. If I remember correctly the original toy was pretty close to the same shade.

Indeed it is, but I was helping clarify for Billy J. that he should not expect the off white of Streetwise to match the true white of First Aid, Blades, or Rook. It seemed to me that he thought they all had a unified "sterile white" color scheme. I wanted to him to know that's not the case, so that if he is still contemplating the Takara version, he can make a better informed decision, without incorrect facts of the Hasbro option.

And I am very thankful for that clarification. Saddened too, since I did want a nice uniformity and it was a cool compromise for the G1 accurate takara version. But at least now I know what to expet and I wont be letdown if I choose the Hasbro option. Which I probably will simply because I am really not fond of the increased price of Defensor in light of his exclusivity.

While this doesn't help the fact that you have SW already bought and on the way, Jay is totally right about Prowl. As a limb, he could totally just be a "generic police car" and fit in perfectly.

Prowls deco would probably fit very well with Defensor. :BOT:

None that I know of. I'm guessing it's a one-off QA issue for Hellscream9999 and not a systemic problem with the mold or this release. My Blades' shoulder peg works perfectly fine. In fact, I must give kudos to Takara and Hasbro for finally coming up with a very secure, reliable, and stable combination port. They go in smoothly and stay in until you want to remove them on purpose. Well done!

What problem with his Shoulder port?

I posted it in the CW thread, but nobody responded.

The detent ring on the interior of the left shoulder of the robot mode for the a/b model is off by a fraction of a degree. If you sit a/b of a flat surface on his shoulders with his head back (like for arm config.) the port actually doesn't make a 90 degree angle like every other cw limb. It sits at like 89.5 or 89 degree angle.

It's most noticeable when, as a limb, the leg isn't parallel with any other leg, or as an arm it points inwards towards the thigh when all the other arms point slightly away from the body. I noticed it when superion kept falling over when a/b was used as a leg, since the detent ring is off, the difference becomes more exaggerated the further back the knee is bent. I've noticed it in optibotimus' review of a/b and blades, and others.

Try it out for yourself, I can't fix it b/c of the pins holding the body together, but by extension both defensor and bruticus will have this problem :BANG_HEAD:

Just answered, but (excluding a/b and clones) the port is very well designed, it's clever and straightforward, and I feel like this is the natural conclusion to have come too. :APPLAUSE:

Another addition to the Takara Tomy line-up for Unite Warriors Superion, toy blogger Alfes2010 has posted two new pictorial reviews featuring the Aerialbot limbs: Firefly, Slingshot, Air Raid and Skydive. Mirrored below are some of the images from the posts, which you can find here and here - make sure to check them out, and compare them to the Hasbro counterparts in our galleries here!

I still dont get why fireflight has a faceplate when he is supposed to have a mouth. But then hasbro has a chance to get Blast off right and use the fireflight head but instead the elect to give Blast off a mouth by using the slingshot head. Morons. Its not rocket science hasbro...

Yuuuuuuup! A mix of the original toy and the original anime colors. Winning!

Scratching my head on why the sudden attention to detail. Intention of getting this or not? If the latter, then no biggie issue.

As for the Combaticons, still toooooooooooooooo early to tell what their final product will look like and given how TT always does their own "Sinatra", maybe let's jus relax, sit down and throw away your shoes and just enjoy the show. Who knows? Maybe TT will do another Slingshot and Groove surprise?

I feel like this is a one-off. My AB is perfectly square with the rest of the team. I actually like the backwards configuration too, with the white planes as legs and the black as arms. it looks better.

As for these guys: Individually I do not like their paint job as much as Hasbros. Seems to be a theme with these guys: i just like the hasbro paint better :BOT:

Looking over Fireflight's cartoon head vs. his toy head... I am SO glad the Generations toy went with the design of the toy head because Fireflight's cartoon head has got to be the most BORING head design ever!

I mean look at that thing! It's just a box with a face! And a very bland-looking face at that! One of the dullest head designs ever seen.

The toy had such a cool design with a mouthplate, horns, a forehead crest, and everything, yet the animators didn't even try to capture any of that in cartoon form. They just ignored it entirely and went with... this!

Even Silverbolt's head in the last picture looks so much cooler with its closer adherence to Silverbolt's toy head.

Save the lousy box head for a MP, gimme the awesome toy-based face for this figure any day.

Plus, the toy head looks more distinctive as is. The animated head, especially in that last image, looks too much like Slingshot's and Air Raid's.

Is this more than you expected? Or are you clicking that preorder button right after reading this?

New combiner head that allows both toy- and cartoon-accuracy, new elbows for 2/3 of the team while the other third gets new knees, possibly more tooling on Scavenger and Bonecrusher to fill in Devastator's armpits, individual weapons, and improved paint job?

Maybe not eighty, but definitely worth extra dough.

So now I play the waiting game for good ol' TCP to get theirs up.

You don't have to sell me on it. It's clearly the better set by far. I just don't agree with that price. (nor should you but it's your money..)

So I'll either play the waiting game for a price drop later down the line or do w/o it altogether since there's no way I'd settle for Hasbro's version unless the 3P add ons are better and cost less.

If it was the same size as the other CW combiners, I would gladly buy it at that price. Those improvements are worth every penny in my opinion. But because Im not into stand alone figures, ill be sticking with my Hercules and yellow Giant that scale properly. I still say mixmasters alt mode is a disgrace. Honestly, if I had the money and the space, this is the one I would get. If Im going to spend that much, I might as well get the best possible version. And this is it. The fact that they added articulation is an awesome thing and a notch in TT's hat as far as I'm concerned.

I don't get all ga-ga whenever Takara slaps some extra paint on a toy...but this...this goes above what I expect and I have to say, if you want a Devastator, I think TakaraTomy deserves your money.

But because Im not into stand alone figures, ill be sticking with my Hercules and yellow Giant that scale properly. I still say mixmasters alt mode is a disgrace. Somebody needs to get fired for that decision.

So someone needs to lose their job and be unable to support their family for making a kid's toy a different kind of cement truck than one that they made 30 years ago?

Adding to your statement Sunstorm, Takara even added the paint to make the leg work as G1 accurate and for anyone to simply flip the truck around in alt mode if needed.

Re-posting from the Devastator thread.

All the known changes made to Takara Devastator compared to Hasbro's retail version:

Which makes this Devy even better! As for my stand on which to get, I would love to get this one over the Hasbro or SDCC versions, except I can't afford it. And besides, I'd be keeping him in combined mode (And I don't need the retooled head with the flip-up sunglasses because I don't like the eyes on the first place), so elbows wouldn't matter. And because of the fact that I don't like chrome (and the eyes thing), I'll pick the retail Devastator.

Looks like there's a $5 early bird discount or something. Mine came in at $219.99. Tis pricey, but if I'm going to do this, I think I'd like to go the little extra.
