Not a lazy re-issue but actually with new features! Takara can suck at times with their ambitious Tracks/Roadrage mold but this one looks like a home run!

What I stated. Poseable fingers. What is the issue then? Accuracy of my post? Was it inaccurate with the fingers thingie?

I was asking what was new for this release that wasn't in the APS versions. You suggested the fingers, which I answered as those having already been in the most recent APS version.fenrir72 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:From the latest APS version.fenrir72 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:What's new in this release that wasn't already in previous Asia Premium Series releases?fenrir72 wrote:Not a lazy re-issue but actually with new features! And the source I read this issue from (okay Burn don't go ballistic with this)
http://tformers.com/mb-11-10th-annivers ... /news.html
made a big fuss for articulated fingers. Maybe not all people are aware of this feature. Maybe you could confirm if the original mold of this figure never had "articulated fingers".
Then this re-issue is just is one of the many GREAT examples of how Takara goes an extra mile with their versions (which is a 5/5 to me) like UW Devs (elbows, weapons, two faces) UW Bruticus with Blastoff etc etc

This was kept for all iterations of the mold until the APS-01U Optimus Prime Ultimate Edition. That release has both the Jetwing and Striker accessories, and even adds 2-2-1 articulated fingers, plus a knuckle buster and battle hooks. It's that release the 10th Anniversary release is based on.

JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:The articulated fingers are not new, as stated. But the feature was planned for the original RotF release, making it to the stock photo stage. However, the economic crisis of 2008 meant that the parts count had to be lowered a bit, and designs simplified. Starscream, Sideways, Rampage and Optimus Prime were the most noticeably affected, in the latter case the hands became solid pieces:

So hip hip hurray then! Takara did give us an extra incentive to get these beauties!

They gave us nothing new. This feature is already available in the APS-01U release, which came out last year, as Jelze just stated. You can see those same hands in the pic below showing that release (of last year):
So Tformers is incorrect, I dont know why they made a big deal out of this.
The only thing Takara did with this, is release that same toy (with the faceplate versin of the ROTF headsculpt) at a lower price point due to not giving as many accessories.
So now we can own the best version of OP for 70-100$ instead of over 200$. That's awesome of takara even though there is are no new features in this release.

So we get a cheaper face-plated version, no accessories hence cheaper version. As for the ethics of correcting another site's reports..........I'm staying away from that with a 10 foot pole.

- Ion Blaster from the Buster Optimus Prime version.
- Battle Blades from the Striker Optimus release.
- Battle Hooks from the Ultimate Edition.
- Knuckle from the Ultimate Edition.
Really, the only things removed are the Jetwing backpack and guns, and Striker's Stealth Force Mode attachments.

Bad jokes aside, I'm pretty excited about getting Leader Prime again, and with it being a reissue of the second Asia Premium Series Prime (without the Jetwing accessories) makes him a little more accessible for my budget.

A playset with metal tentacles.
There have already been TF tentacle playets before

Heck, there was the Ark playset from the same movie. I don't get why they didn't make a Driller for Legends Shockwave to ride around in.

Yeah but it is a giant worm and I don't think it would have appealed at all especially since those play sets did not sell at all. It was at the time when we got the Ark and Prime did the energon drill and Wheeljacks ship and all of those things ended up on clearance racks.
If we had gotten a driller it Would have probably been an early concept of the thing when it looked like Shockwave was using a chariot and it probably would have ended up looking like a slug that also shelfwarmed until it went on clearance.
Posted by RAR on January 20th, 2017 @ 1:10pm CST
You'd have a large nerf rifle like toy with a geared spinning mechanism with spinning rubberised tentacles on it and perhaps some Nerf projectiles - it would have a handle to hold for kids to use.
It would also fold the handle up and sit on the ground and when pushed along the tentacles would undulate and spin.
On the back it would open and have a spot to slot Voyager Shockwave onto it so he's basically pulling a huge trailer with a spray of tentacles on the back.
Also on the top it would have an opening hatch that Legion Shockwave could sit in.
That is how i'd do it - if you look the driller designs up (the whole thing) you can see what I mean.
Also possibly it could be posed in a eating a building pose up chair legs and such.

No, he had this dumb tank-thing that mounted to the back of his alt mode and turned into a gun emplacement.

Also, unless it's for Armada Tidal Wave, I am still not used to hearing the Japanese verbally use the name "Shockwave" instead of "Laserwave".
