For those wanting a look at Studio Series Rise of the Beasts Scourge's transformation (at least assumed transformation, since this is being done with no instruction sheet), a quick review was posted by Eyckzim, on youtube (aka Sonic Bomber Core). We see that a difference here from previous images is that the weapon placed in the back of the truck more closely resembles the detail on the live action truck. We also get a good sense of the articulation and complexity. Enjoy!

I like his transformation for the most part, especially the wheels and the chest. He looks like a pretty good figure, but the skinny legs and the bland paint job keep him from being great IMO. If I see it discounted I'll probably pick it up, but this is not a $60 figure.

Is this a really heavily remolded version of Kingdom Airazor? It seems to have a lot of the elements, and the way everything transforms seems to mirror the Kingdom WFC Deluxe. The bird head folds down into the chest, the arms seem to tuck into the bird body like the Kingdom figure, and it's got the same triple jointed legs with clawed feet, albiet molded very differently...

Pretty much, while I don't think it's a retool, it's definitely a case of shared engineering.

Its not a remold at all.

It shares a ton of engineering, with Kingdom AirRazor, but is significantly larger.

It basically uses the same transformation and parts only scaled up a bit, so a different larger mold.

Man, those are some big legs in falcon mode. Honestly looks half-transformed, or some sort of gerwalk mode.

Yes, it's very mistransformed if we assume it transforms the same way as Kingdom Airrazor. The torso should be slid down closer to the legs, and the legs should be tucked into the body more.

It wouldn't be the first time that even the 'official' photos had a figure mis-transformed. I guess 'shared engineering' is closer to the mark than remolded, given it is larger and all...

It's basically the same case as these two:

Different molds, but one apes the transformation engineering of the other.

So now only 94, and 98 (as far as skipped numbers) are unknown.

Also , these examples show that even at the same Price point, Hasbro/TT scan even slightly scale up and down on things. I'm keeping that in mind for possible future TF's that are too small, or too big. ;)

That Airazor is not too bad, but all that shared engineering is a bit lazy and it makes her not unique at all.

Well, BW Airazor was male in Japan, so it's not like the original Airazor was always only a female anyway. ;)

almost as if its parts count and R&D that determine the price point and not the size, something they've told us for years now

We've seen this for a few figures now. With the advent of CAD files, you can reuse transfomation more easily to make a new toy that has a very similar transformation to another one. It's not a remold in the sense that any aspect of the previous actual mold was used, but more like a reskin using the previous CAD files, which then leads to a fully new mold.

I'm loving the little details on this figure. The feathers, the bolts on the face...this is a must for me. Very nicely done.

I was thinking more along the lines of... With the case of CW/UW Devastator. I like the toy well enough, but I prefer a smaller one that scaled with the rest of the CW/UW combiners. There was a scaled down KO that met that need that I purchased, but for the longest time, we were always told Hasbro couldn't just "scale up" or "scale down" the design and re release a toy at a different size. Now they may not WANT to, but this shows they clearly CAN do it...

I am guessing 94 is Buzzworthy Hatchet and 98 is the 3rd deluxe of the wave.

You know, given what we've seen of Airazor and Cheetor thus far, we can probably expect toys of Optimus Primal and Rhinox to also share transformation engineering with their respective Kingdom toys.

We can expect engineering sharing for the SS figures. Likely new or at least significantly altered molds for mainline as has been seen with Air Razor.

Still haven't seen one of the Cheetors. Wether the one we have seen is mainline or SS I don't think has been confirmed.

Expect Rhinox and Primal in SS to share some degree of engineering with Kingdom Rhinos and Primal. Which isn not a bad thing.

Kingdom Primal is pretty good. If they enlarge him like they did with AiRazor, I would approve.

I can confirm, the cheetor we gave seen is mainline, not SS. Also, in total honesty, I don't see much sharing, even transformation wise between Kingdom Cheetor and ROTB Cheetor.

Thanks. Make sense its mainline rather than SS since it shares very little. I can see the arms end up in the same place and the thighs do similar things to Kingdom Cheetor, but it's much less obvious than AirRazor.

We'll see if SS Cheetor looks closer to Kingdom then.

I really hope it borrows nothing from Kingdom since the final model for live action cheetor does not have the beast mode limbs in his back. Instead, the bot mode reuses the same limbs ala beast machines.

One shows him next to his fellow Terrorcons (SS Battletrap and ROTB Nightbird) in alt mode and the other shows him next to voyager Bumblebee movie Optimus Prime. There will be more reviews and images coming as more fans got him early through the Asian online markets, like Shopee. These images come from PrimevsPrime on Facebook.

I've been familiar with the Terrorcons since G1 - and... those ain't no Terrorcons ;). If they were just going to have a gang of ground based evil transformers, why not give them an original faction name? By misappropriating the Terrorcon faction name and applying it to these characters, it's just irking the long time purists.

I haven't watched the movie - because, ya know - Bayverse. But I hope they at least didn't do with the "Terrorcons" what they did with the Decepticons in the TLK movie. Just gather a random gang in a heist-style montage. Then have them attack once in only one scene, get totally clobbered, then run away and never be seen again.

And the current theory is that they're using the name "Terrorcon" instead of "Predacon" for the main bad guys of this movie so that the name can align with the use of "Terrorize" like how "Maximize" does for "Maximal".

Y'know, the more I see of this guy, the more I believe they repurposed the Studio Series' Voyager Class Sentinel Prime mold. Is it just me, or does anyone else see it too? I mean, it definitely wouldn't be the first time Has/Tak had done it, so yeah. I'm not upset about it if this is the case; I'm just curious.

With PVP getting stuff early, there's always talk about the provenance of the items. Well, we know there is an online marketplace in asia where several members of our community get these items early, we posted direct links to listings, like the ones from Shopee. So that bit, we know. But there was a question as to where the items on shopee came from. Well, I now read of another wrinkle to the story from Bustermaster on the TFW boards:

Chinese SNS boards are mumbling about how they're getting sent out to the KC Toy Safety "Korean Certification standards" where figures are reviewed for making sure they pass QC to be sold in the region.
We've seen this before time and time again, specially with early WFC and SS 86 they typically have a card of numbers under the figures in the pictures.

So this is another or parallel source of leaked toys. Toys, before being packaged, get sent to places in asia for review (I'd guess Korea specifically here). Now I don't know what happens to the toys after, but it's another case of these toys being out of factories and into hands that are not Hasbro's before they are ready for distribution. We don't know what other scenarios or reasons there would be, we didn't know this one.

Rise of the Dull, Dingy Transformers.

So far these figures look cheap and uninspired.

We have for you below more images of the upcoming Transformers Studio Series deluxe Rise of the Beasts Airazor. The official images we saw earlier this week were slightly mistransformed so the images below can give you a better idea of how the beast mode could look better.
The images and video are from PrimevsPrime.
While preorders are live at all online retailers, like Amazon, many fans were able to get their copy early through asian online marketplaces like this one: https://shopee.ph/Hasbro-Transformers-L ... V06AwhRwFM

If you want a full list of the other Rise of the Beasts toys released in the Studio Series line, click this link: https://www.seibertron.com/transformers ... 023/47361/

If you want more details behind why we are getting two ROTB Airazors simultaneously, you can click here: https://www.seibertron.com/transformers ... ors/47359/

He looks like he's having a lot of fun with them  Both Air Razor toys are looking pretty good to me, do we have a price difference between them yet?

If this Airazor is really sold as a deluxe, it would be amazing because it would be like if the old deluxe size is finally back. It will be sold at current year price, but I'll take the little win that I can get.

Looking forward to a Terrorcon recolor, but would also be interested if the released her on her 90s transmetal colors. Same with Cheetor.

Although, considering we're getting Airazor, Cheetor, and Rhinox, I'd love Armada repaints to put on my Unicron shelf (and AoE Strafe for Terrorsaur?), but that seems very far-fetched.

I'm still just waiting for orders to open up for the Deluxe ROTB version we first saw leaked. The SS is fine and certainly more screen accurate, but I want the other one more. :-P
