After Seibertron.com broke the news from actor Hugo Weaving that Megatron would be in the next film (Thanks to our Australian Friends), Michael Bay then posted a message on his official website stating that "the cat was out of the bag", but goes on to explain away the tank alt mode, and how Megatron makes his appearance.

"Okay cat is out of the bag. Megatron is back ---- but you will only get to see him from the long lost past. We go way back in time as this movie explains the mythology of the Primes. He is not a tank like everyone suggests, but an alien vehicle. But sadly he does not has much screen time."

This is good news to me, as stated in my last post about Hugo Weaving being back, I'm not happy, but so far it seems my wish for him to have even fewer lines than the last movie seem to be true, but this is coming from Bay himself, who apparently can't form a proper sentence:

...But sadly he does not has much screen time.

Intersting that we could get to see Cybertron's past more. It is becoming painfully obvious that Michael Bay is a terrible liar xD

Seriously...the dude should never play poker. I highly doubt Hasbro would release a new Megatron toy that has the alt-mode of a tank...much less make it so very detailed if Megatron is only a cameo character.

Well, although Mr. Bay isn't the best liar, his story has one thing going, and that's that Megatron still has a Cybertronian mode (as far as I can tell anyways). If Megatron were on Earth, how would he manage to become a vehicle that isn't from our planet? (unless he already scanned it a long time ago and just stored the info, or maybe Soundwave relayed him some new data Cybertron or something)

if it's only in the past where he appears how do you explain the following?:

1.if it's WAY back in time, how does his robot mode appear so different?(you could say "he reformatted",but how would he reformat into a cybertronian vehicle?)

2.how is he holding down sam in the middle of a freeway?(unless sam is 10 billion years old!)

3.you've made 3 toys of him(legend, fab, and leader) and you say he only appears for a little while?(that's bad marketing)

4.if he only appears in the past, how does starscream's bio say that he brings megatron back?

5.why the hell did hugo weaving confirm his ressurection has something to do with that smallspark?

Cat's out of the bag? Yeah, as of August or September of last year, at least, I do believe.

And considering the well recognizable gimp hand of Megs returning hide is in the trailer restraining Sam, well, unless they're getting into time travel, this Bayshit claim of "you will only get to see him from the long lost past" is about as honest as "he won't be in the movie".

Cullen-on-a-bike, I'm so happy if so many fans dig Bay's Transformers and if Bay fans love his films so much, and if he's some powerhouse of movie making talent in the eyes of so many, but maybe he could just STFU for a while on the lying? Can we have that? Just silence instead of bs?

You know that would have better acting, music, and entertainment value than any crap Hollywood could EVER put out.

that's the smoking gun for me right there. As far as him not being in the film that much;Megatron could be dead for most of the movie and that scene could be the very end where we'd have a cliff hanger type ending where we'll have to wait till the next one to see what happens to Sam.

Marketing, and the fact Hasbro doesn't want to lose the Megatron name. Besides, outside of a breif glimps of the hand, we really haven't seen a screen shot of Megatron in this film.

2.how is he holding down sam in the middle of a freeway?(unless sam is 10 billion years old!)

Vision. Dream. Continued attempts at misdirection by the director. ;)

3.you've made 3 toys of him(legend, fab, and leader) and you say he only appears for a little while?(that's bad marketing)

Again, it could be because Hasbro doesn't want to lose its copyrights on the name.

4.if he only appears in the past, how does starscream's bio say that he brings megatron back?

It's been a LONG Transformers tradition that the bios on the toys don't usually match with what we see in the movies or TV series.

Besides, think about this: why would Starscream of all Decepticons want Megatron back. Soundwave maybe, but Starscream?

5.why the hell did hugo weaving confirm his ressurection has something to do with that smallspark?

Misdirection again? :P Or maybe the smallspark is what is responsible for Sam's vision. The whole movie will make things more clear.

I just finished reading the movie prequel novel again, and I noticed that in part it talked about Bumblebee picking a land mode over an arial mode when Starscream is on his tail, implying that storing multiple alt modes is possible (makes since, it's just data that tells them what to look like when the transform. If that's true, then Megatron could be in the Cybertron parts only. But I still think that is him in the trailer attacking sam.

You know, I wish Bay would just keep his d@mned wordhole shut. His whole "misinformation campaign" has fallen flat on it's face, and he doesn't even have the sense to just stop. Pretty obvious that ol' Megs is gonna have a bit more time on the screen than he's saying. You know with 3 toys, a few renders we saw months ago, a glimpse of body parts that match said renders and toys in the trailer, and oh yeah, Meg's VA saying that he's been resurrected in the movie.

With all the crap Bay is spewing, I'm sure there's no difference between his butthole and his mouth.

**Holds up flame sheild**

Why can't we just wait for the movie and judge it then, rather than speculate on what's gonna happen and judge it now with only about 3 minutes worth of footage and a dozen or so toys to go by.

This sounds like another futile attempt at misinformation. While I wouldn't mind some flashbacks to Cybertron and some backstory, that just doesn't sound like something Bay would do. Basically, I'm ignoring Bay and paying closer attention to figures, trailers, and screenshots. So far, I'm optimistic about the film.

*crosses fingers*

I just posted this to show people a picture, lol. I personally can't wait for the flick. Alot of people are comparing it, and then being mad about things we don't know. This is how I look at it. It's another "series." I'm taking the movies the same way I took Beast Wars, RID, Armada, all those series: It's different, it's supposed to be. But deep down it's still the same.

Anyway, anyone agree with the picture? Megs' legs? I went and saw Friday the 13 and noticed the legs on the big screen, even after watching the trailer hundreds of times.

you know the gas thing is while he's undoubtedly talking bollocks i actually wouldnt mind seeing some focus on the prime lineage like he intimated.

theres just too much that doesnt make sense in his post. if its in the past why's he a tank instead of a cybertronian jet?

if its only a flashback why spend a fortune desiging a whole new look when the flash back in the FIRST film clearly shows him in the form he had in the first film?

megs is back, we all know it so he should just come clean. TBH i just hope we dont end up with too many villains. loads of troops is ok but two many big bads has scuttled many a film.

Why else would Megatron have a Cybertronian tank alt mode?

I think he has something to do with the imprisonment of The Fallen in the pyramid. Maybe he brought The Fallen to Earth way before the AllSpark was lost.

Yup. It's got nothing to do with him thinking by lying continuosly that he's actually keeping a secret (badly), it's all about him trying to keep those pesky fanboys (ie you, me, everyone that posts on a message board about TFs) buzzed about the film, because if he kept quiet none of us would ever talk about anything regarding the film, and if he actually chose to do reveals himself occasionally (without lying, that is) it wouldn't generate a bit of hype in the fandom at all. Nope, none. 8-}

Did I say "he should reveal every little detail" without realizing it? Because I thought I said something about keeping quiet or occasional (real) reveals as he chose. But, hey, it was only two posts ago.

And I'd prefer he just clam up over this constant & very crappily done bs'ing he's been about from the start.

You know you guys can ignore the Movie news if you want. I mean you don't have to put it up for all to see, you can see it's a movie news item and go past it.

Nobody wants Bay to give the whole movie away, or even much of it. He claims what has been said, seen, and shared is not very important to the movie at all, and is not the MAIN or MOST important, or most exciting so maybe we shouldn't worry.

Just don't say anything but teases, no reason to try to lead us falsely in another direction.

Agreed, I've seen the first movie enough times to recognize that hand/claw anywhere, and his leg in the background is a pretty big give away too. He's gonna be back, and most likely more powerful than before with the Allspark stuck in 'im.
