Transformers Movie director Michael Bay has updated his website's news blog with a brief comment on the filming of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in Egypt and on Universal's anticipatory Transformers: The Ride, to be completed in 2011.

The director seems less than thrilled. Read his message on his site by clicking here.

The shooting in the the Middle East is ground breaking - an awesome time had by all the crew.

The Transformer Ride at Universal making all the press rounds - not sure yet - they had me in a press release saying I supported it - but Universal has a long way to go in my mind. I don't support it - I'm not involved and not sure the story of the ride works, and I know Optimus is not going to just show up to be directed by some new people that have never worked with him. I hate when people bullshit a quote from me that I never said.

I'll keep you informed. Maybe the guy making the rides at Universal will direct Transformers 3????

Ya know, Michael's got one hell of an ego for somebody who's far from bulletproof in Hollywood. His little idle threats don't really hold water though. I remember way back when Paramount passed on Blu Ray, he pulled a internet hissy fit and said he'd never direct Transformers 2. He should just take a page from his fellow directors (with hit movies) and just shut the hell up and get back to work.

I'm sure Optimus has better things to attend to than to support some joy ride for the humans, things of more life threatening situations that is.

Considering his very uneven track record prior to Transformers, he needs to reign in his ego a little.

I'd be f***in pissed too if someone quoted me saying something I didn't. I don't think it has anything to do with the ride itself so much as universal said he was supportive of it and liked it when he never agreed or even said either of those things.

Put yourself in a similar situation and I'm sure you'd feel the same.

I think he was angered more by the fact that they quoted him when he had said nothing of the sort. Though referring to Prime as a real...person is a little wacky.

I think he needs a chill pill, a little one at best, but I'm willing ot bet if this was James Cameron we'd see a bigger rant. Him or Michael Mann...But I can see where Bay is coming from on this, someone cliamed that he was supporting the ride when he wasn't. He has a right to be angry especially if he hasn't even approved of the story.

Darkwing Duck would think Michael Bay's ego is big. Guy makes 1 successful movie his whole career and he thinks he's the most important person alive. So, which animal species do you think Spielberg is screwing in the incriminating photos Bay keeps on hand? How else does this guy keep his job?

Sure, we knew he was full of hot air. Did he consult actual scientists for Transformers? Stephen Hawking? Nah, just make them based on what Michael Bay thinks is real. Anyone who's seen his past films know the guy isn't living in the real world anyway. Then Hasbro designers(who are hardly scientists and have never seen an actual alien robot) kiss his butt and pass "blocky" off as a curse word. What they call "blocky" I call "not straining my eyes to look at".

Then the allspark cube mass-shifts to 5% original size and Frenzy's new body comes from nowhere. And a vending machine is turned into an advanced robot by electricity.

THAT MAKES NO SENSE, given how much crap Bay fed us over the justification for the designs to begin with.

I heard Bay's gonna work on a film about 2 morons who try a jewel heist and steal a bomb by mistake... yeah, sounds real original.

So... when's that boxing match again? The one where Uwe Boll is gonna wail on him? Better yet, am I the only one who would love to see Stephen Hawking get up out of his wheelchair and put his foot up the guy's ass for his continued abuse of science?

There's so much wrong with the post in quotes here...not sure where to begin.

This guy keeps his job because he's able to make money off of people like who continue to watch his movies, and then bitch about it because you have nothing else better to do. (Apparently.)

diosoth wrote:Sure, we knew he was full of hot air. Did he consult actual scientists for Transformers? Stephen Hawking? Nah, just make them based on what Michael Bay thinks is real. Wow. Did he piss in your Cheerios or something? Seriously, that's a lot of hatred for a man you don't even know. Especially one who has every right being pissed for being quoted when he had actually said NOTHING OF THE SORT. But hey, you keep on being wrong, we'll enjoy it.

diosoth wrote:Then the allspark cube mass-shifts to 5% original size and Frenzy's new body comes from nowhere. And a vending machine is turned into an advanced robot by electricity.

Misdirections kept us on our toes and continue to do so. Would you really like having your work uncovered and spread all over the world before it's released? People not giving it a fair shake without seeing the final product, because people rip it off and illegally post the information contained within, is the real crap Bay has to deal with. Then he has people like you making posts like these and it's a miracle he'd even continue on.

He's had death threats, he's had completely untrue things said about him that are so horrible they shouldn't be repeated, and for what? Because he directed the TransFormers movie. Which made a combined worldwide sale of over 1 billion. Considering he helped revitalize the franchise, he deserves better than he's received.

diosoth wrote:I heard Bay's gonna work on a film about 2 morons who try a jewel heist and steal a bomb by mistake... yeah, sounds real original.

Oh so he's the *only* director in Hollywood doing loosely based remakes of past films? No one else in the history of the movie industry hasn't done the same? Wow. Where have you been?

Have you even seen any of the Bond films? They're remakes of themselves! Loosely based, but still remakes.

Original? No, of course not. Will it sell? Probably. Will people enjoy it? I'm sure some will, and you know what? There's nothing wrong with that.

And no amount of unfair whining from you will change that.

diosoth wrote:So... when's that boxing match again? The one where Uwe Boll is gonna wail on him? Better yet, am I the only one who would love to see Stephen Hawking get up out of his wheelchair and put his foot up the guy's ass for his continued abuse of science?

This portion right here? Proves to me that you're a troll. And if I had a chance to ban you, you'd be gone NOW.

Uwe Boll is a MORON. You want to complain about a hack? He's everything you're claiming Bay to be. Bay didn't take the challenge because he's got something we like to call CLASS. He's not going to lower himself to that hack wackjob's level and make a spectacle out of himself for publicity.

Yes, you are the only one who'd love to see Hawking walk, just so he could kick Bay's ass.

You know what the rest of us would love to see? Stephen Hawking escape from his physical prison (that he's been in since the age of 21) and walk for the first time in nearly a LIFETIME. His body is completely ravaged by ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and he's suffered through unimaginable pain. He would love to be healthy and walk once again and live his life the way he should've been able to.

How dare you...how dare you use a man afflicted with such a disease, for your twisted posting purposes.

You ought to be ashamed of yourself, how disgusting.

And Bay's "abuse" of science? It's Science-FICTION. Do aliens really burst out of people's chests? No. So his vision of alien robots as it is, falls well within the confines of SCIENCE-FICTION!

IT'S NOT REAL! IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE!

GO GET BANNED, PLEASE!

ok, i know the whole internet has an unreasonable hatred for the guy but someone said he's had just one successful movie? Most of his movies have done pretty damn well. They may not be the "internet geek" idea of good movies but they were successful nonetheless. I think his only actual failures were The Island and Pearl Harbor, but even those did alright financially. now that doesnt change the fact he has ego issues but yeah....i mean really. lol

i'll never understand the "if i dont like it then it sucks" mentality on this wonderful world of the internet. there's other opinions and facts outside your own view people and they're just as valid. :P

Thanks to the Internet, the "Entertainement" industry has taken on a whole new scope. I no longer have to wait for new movies or new t.v shows to come out, I just have to look in on any given forum board or chat room containing anything about Hollywood to get all the entertainment I need. TV and movies are supposed to provide us with a means of escapism and yet people get so emotionally attached to their own subjective points of view that they take it to the next level and lose the very point of the escapism itself.
Thank You World Wide Web for the ability to place millions of "bugs" in a jar, shake it real good and watch what happens. (Especially when Michael Bay or any of his work is involved)
The TF ride is in it's early stages so expect a lot more of this screwed up communication before it's all over. All companies involved are riding a huge wave of hype right now and investing billions on a venture based on a 25 year old imported toy line that has had new life breathed into it. This is the least of what we are going to see in the months to come until this project is completed.
Sit back, grab some popcorn and enjoy the free "entertainment".

He is such an ass. Does he think he is the only person capable of directing Transformers? Does he think he owns the rights to the Transformer's name, designs, story, and mythology? He's out of his mind.

I could understand he's anger if Universal included his name in the ride like "Michael Bay's Transformers Ride" without his permission. But if that is not the case then he has nothing to be upset about and it's time for someone to deflate his ego.

I would be very happy if Universal said goodbye to him when it came time for Transformers 3. Then he can go make a Go-Bots movie with John Woo.

What he's upset about is that they said he supported it. According to him he was not even contacted, but his name was still attached to it.

I see no "Ego" in wanting to make sure you have a say about what gets your name attached to it.

This fandom as a whole need to seriously get over itself because frankly it seems as thought the fandom is the one with an "ego" problem.

So much wrong with this post...

Stormrider wrote:He is such an ass. Does he think he is the only person capable of directing Transformers? Does he think he owns the rights to the Transformer's name, designs, story, and mythology? He's out of his mind.

An ass he may be, but he was the one *chosen* to direct TransFormers. He not only know he's capable of directing it, but he was handpicked by one of the biggest names in Hollywood. He's never declared that he owned anything, or that he runs Hollywood. You couldn't be further off the mark here.

Stormrider wrote:I could understand he's anger if Universal included his name in the ride like "Michael Bay's Transformers Ride" without his permission. But if that is not the case then he has nothing to be upset about and it's time for someone to deflate his ego.

They did the next closest thing to slapping his name on the ride, they claimed he supported and endorsed it. He did neither thing. They had no right to flat out lie and put something in print that he never, ever said. That's what he's angry about, and let's face it, if you said "I'm a collector!" and someone posted/printed/whatever "I hate collecting and I think collectors are selfish jackasses." you'd not only be angry, you'd edit their post or ask someone to do it for you. Since Bay couldn't get it retracted, he defended himself and snapped back. Again, you're off the mark here. Missing the entire point of his attack.

Stormrider wrote:I would be very happy if Universal said goodbye to him when it came time for Transformers 3. Then he can go make a Go-Bots movie with John Woo.

Wow, incorrect yet again! Yay for you. Universal has no hand in this movie franchise, nor did they hire him. Paramount and Dreamworks, through their partnership, created the movie and the franchise.

The fact that you can miss something that well known (we've spoken about it for years since the first movie was even mentioned...) then I can definitely see how you'd miss the entire point of what Bay's trying to convey. And I can also see how you can completely hate a man you don't even know because you have your head up your rear end so far, you'd need to go slack jawed to see daylight.

I'm so sick and tired of people hating Michael Bay for DIRECTING A MOVIE! I'm so sick and tired of people getting the facts WRONG.

Ah, never mind...I'm just banging my head against a wall here, for no reason.

No. Baiting was not my intention. Stating facts was all I did. I do admit my tone was extremely harsh, and my post came close, but I made sure not to cross the line. It's not worth that kind of trouble.

You had it all wrong, I corrected you on it. Did I handle it the right way? Not entirely.

eh... reading this whole topic, I can safely say from an outside perspective that he wasn't trying to bait you, only correct you. The harshness in his response wasn't maybe needed to that extent but I'd have to say I agree with everything autobot032 said, not necessarily his tone in his last response but what he said is all 100% correct, harsh tone or not. Although the "harsh" tone in his response to that git above you if anything was completely and totally warranted.

The point that I was trying to make before some people went overboard with their comments is that people get misquoted all the time by the media: Directos, Actors, Performers, Business folks, Politicians, etc., but only a few people in the media spotlight fly off the handle each time. Why couldn't Michael Bay just simply have said - "No that is not what I said". Why all the extra drama? That is what I find unwarranted.
