We have reports of several toys from the Transformers Rise of the Beasts main toyline being found or now in the hands of US fans.

From our own Seibertronian, Ig89ninja, we have reports of the Beast Alliance Beast Combiners found at their local Target. Those include Bumblebee & Snarlsaber, Arcee & Silverfang and Optimus Primal & Skullcruncher, they are $21.99. We also have in hand images from TF Fan Sponge who found them at a Target in Texas and also provided the receipt with DCPI. We see through their images that the armours are interchangeable with the robots.

Ig89ninja also found the Target exclusive 3 pack that includes deluxe Nightbird, Cheetor and Wheeljack. So great news for fans of that design. That 3 pack is $59.99.

Lastly, the Optimus primal and Optimus Prime Beast Alliance Beast Weaponizers 2-Packs have come in from Amazon.com and been delievered to US fans. They were $14.94 and we have a review for Optimus Primal with Arrowstripe.

Amazon have delayed mine until tomorrow. They're the weaponizers so I think those are the ones with the beasts that turn into guns, I think.

Good to see that three pack is out now, wish it would show up online.

Another one of my ROTB orders got pushed up to tomorrow, I think it's the stand alone Optimus Prime, I don't even think it comes with a weapon.

With the new Transformers Rise of the Beasts gimmick toys out now, we have a review to give you a better look at the toy in case you are curious about it.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Finally, we have some official, non-side-released, Rise of the Beasts toys to check out. Beast Combiner Optimus Primal with Skullcruncher is a fun toy, borrowing heavily from the Spark Armor concept from Cyberverse while bringing something new to the table. You really have to like the wink and a nod homage to the very first Beast Wars release from back in the day. While targeted towards younger fans, there's more than a little here for older fans as well.

Reminds me of the larger-sized Spark Armor toys from Cyberverse.

This is more of a clarification than news, but judging from the comments on social media, it seems it bears to be mentioned. While a multipacks of deluxe class figures for the Transformers Rise of the Beasts line have been revealed and even found, we are still getting the same deluxe figures as individual releases. Not only have we had listings for the single deluxe releases, but we also have shipping manifests showing that these single releases have arrived at US ports. This was confirmed by TFW2005 user Silver Optimus.

Which means that on Target shelves, you will have deluxe class toys from the 3 packs that will also be on shelves sold individually at the same time. If anyone is curious as to why Target would get have the same items on shelves at the same time, it is most probably due to the film delays. While the individual deluxe releases (by that I mean the non SS deluxe Airazor, and the Wheeljack with glasses toy we've seen) were all scheduled for a 2022 release, Hasbro is only distributing them now. The Target exclusive 3 packs may have always been scheduled for 2023 (since 2022 still had a steady stream of Buzzworthy Bumblebee releases) and now everything is coming to shelves at the same time. There should be no difference between the decos. What is happening here is the same thing that happened with the Cyberverse deluxe 3 pack, except since that one was released as scheduled, the 3 pack was released after the individual releases.

Toys R Us charge a whopping 30$CAN more for that Cyberverse 3 pack than if the deluxes were individually sold. Meaning you pay for a "phantom" deluxe.

So I wonder what the price of the individual ROTB deluxes will be and how much that 3 pack would cost at Toys R Us? That is, if they bother ordering the damn thing in the first place.

I think even if everything was released as it was supposed to, Target would still have the single packed figures on the shelves at the same time as the 3-pack. I wish Target would get this stuff up online.

Why the target online shopping is so difficult is beyond me. I want this stuff online too so I can get it. My local target is not good for exclusives

I've always believed that stores like Target and Walmart have less than desirable online experiences is because they don't want to diminish their brick and mortar sales.

It's strange though since this seems to be a problem unique to toys. Anything else sold in stores I can order online and pick up the same day, but for toys they seem to actively limit what you can buy. I've lost track of the number of times Target has had something listed as in stock at a local store and refused to let me add it for pickup or refused to let me do site to store. Walmart at least will leave most listings active even when they're sold out, but Target removes listings pretty regularly even when you know something is in stock in a local store. Frustrating.

Because toys are often destination purchases, meaning you only buy them when you have/want to and thus will bring you into the store and thus may lead you to buying something else from another department.

Same is true for media, but they have a full selection of games, movies and books on the site. If you go on Target and search Manga you'll find 26 pages, most of which are in stock and "not available in stores" despite having a fair selection in stores, too. If they can do that with media then they're just as capable of doing it with toys.

They could, but I think different items have different theories behind them. Remember, they still believe that kids drive toy sales, thus it's kids looking for toys that bring parents into the store and then hopefully they have the attitude of "While I'm here..." I don't think Manga has that pull. By the way, not that I really look, but I never see Manga at my Target.

Manga does have that pull and it follows the same demographic. In fact it pretty regularly shows up in the weekly ads to get people into stores to buy it, including this week:

It's bizarre that Manga )and Anime) is still considered a "kid thing" in the West, despite being mainstream for at least 20 years over here. Plus, it's also just a medium to convey stories for ALL ages and ALL genres.

Also, it's not rare for Western IPs to have a manga adaptation so maybe a Transformers manga or anime that would be well made and is not a parody could be made. Something with a high budget left to the Japanese creators would be perfect.

It's all because big corporations in the West still refuse to see comic books and animation as anything more than just "for kids". Unless it's explicitly pornographic, or something like Family Guy and South Park. Then they'll recognize it as "mature content". Sadly, there's no in-between. It's either one extreme or the other.

Unfortunately, the problem with how comics and animation are viewed in the West is the exact same problem with how Transformers is viewed in Japan. In other words, Japan sees Transformers media as kids stuff aimed primarily at a very young audience, hence why every single Japanese-made Transformers anime (The Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory, Beast Wars Second, Beast Wars Neo, Car Robots, Legends of the Microns, Superlink, Galaxy Force, and Go!) have all been made with a grade school-aged audience in mind, and why many Japanese Transformers dubs (G1, Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Animated, Prime, and Robots in Disguise 2015) have been dumbed down from their original English versions. It's all because of the belief in Japan that piloted robots are for more grown up audiences while living robots are goofy kiddie stuff.

I've yet to see a Western adaptation that has been any good anyway, either direct Japanese or even a Korean adaptation are generally much better. Maybe because they have a better understanding of the source material, or the western version has to be altered and watered down so much to appeal to a general movie going audience.

Japan is also very lenient about what they let their younger audiences view. They're nowhere nearly as Puritanical as the U.S. is.

Dragon Ball Z, for instance, had lots of blood and violence in it, yet was still considered a kids anime. Its original Japanese ending theme songs being super silly and cutesy are a testament of that.

Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star) was also a "kid anime" way back in the early 1980's.
In France, they dubbed the series and aired the episodes on TV without censor. But after a few episodes, there were complains for some reasons.

If the ROTB movie is well received, I'd love to have a cartoon series based on that movie. Especially if it focus on the :MAXIMAL: VS the Terrorcon (or something.) No current year politics, brilliant writing like the original BW series, and a budget to make the CGI episodes look "real enough".

But I think I'm asking for the Moon with this.

Some images are being shared across social media of voyager Optimus Primal from the Transformers Rise of the Beasts line. While the images do show us the entire figure, most images show it mistransformed or in mid transformation. We do have an ok look at the bot mode but it's not the same with the alt mode. It does seem like the idea of the transformation is that there is a head swap, like the Kingdom toy, and there are different chest panels for the gorilla and bot mode.

This is meant to be in the first wave of voyagers from the main line while the Rhinox and Optimus Prime wave we saw would be wave 2. But we'll see if that's still the case since wave assortments can change.

Boom and just like that, your toy aisles now have a whole new assortment of Transformers toys. We have reports from many collectors that they have now found all gimmick toys already revealed by Hasbro for the Rise of the Beasts line. There is more to come of course, like further waves and further classes, but those have not been revealed by Hasbro yet. The Beast Weaponizers 2-Pack and the Battle Channgers (which includes Rhinox, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee) have been found at Meijer stores. The individual targetmasters, like Cheetor and Rhinox, are appearing at Targets. The image below is from Shane Shane.

We still have yet to see the mainline voyagers, individual deluxes or one steps, but none of those have been revealed by Hasbro yet.

Image

We will post reviews when they come in. For now, we have one for the Beast Weaponizer 2-packs.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:If there's one gimmick in the ROTB main toyline that will attract collectors it's the Beast Weaponizers, small robotic animals that turn into weapons like blasters, swords, crossbows, and chainsaws; the last two are featured here with Optimus Primal and Optimus Prime. Both Primal and Prime are basic figures but feature more articulation than the Beast Combiner figures, which makes them a bit more fun. The Weaponizers remind me of the Arms Micron era of Transformers and complement the larger robots well. Between the two I feel Optimus Prime is better due to having more articulation and a more pronounced alternate mode.

Well, that packaging makes the Rhino-Vulcan look even more...BAD-ASS!

"Boy, lead gets hot inshide deshe rhinos...'

Definitely picking up at least one!

william-james88 wrote:Some images are being shared across social media of voyager Optimus Primal from the Transformers Rise of the Beasts line.

Man, I don't wanna sound overly negative, but this is such a boring design. It really annoys me just how monotone Primal is. How do they expect audiences to follow the action when Optimus is just gonna be a blur of solid black?

Makes me wonder what will be "leader" about the Studio Series version of Primal. >:oP

LOL yeah I don't think I'll pay current Hasbro prices for a headflip bot that looks as plain as this. PASS!

Honestly, I didn't expect more, the design from ape to humanoid robot has always been prone to being a headflip bot. The SS leader will be the same as to some extent. Though the legs have transformation too and we don't see that in these pics. I think only the MP went out of its way to give a fully new transformation for Primal.

As for looking plain, fully agree, though that's more of an issue towards the film's design team. It's basically just recreating this:

Not sure if I'll buy this.

Right now I'm looking at three Primals, two from the movie line and the Authentic. Each has a different deco that reminds me of a previously released toy. The Authentic reminds me of the OG Primal, the Beast Armor reminds me of the reddish-brown Universe repaint, and the Weaponizer is based on the movie look. It'll be interesting to see how many more looks we get for Primal in the main line.

This is par for the course for the live action movies. If you're not a sleek street vehicle, you get no snazzy paint job. Instead, you get variations of gray, tan, brown, and other muted color shades.

Yep, I love my Masterpiece Primal so I really have no reason to buy other versions that doesn't excite me. I'll wait and see if review videos could change my mind.

Did anybody notice the big differences in the deco on the packaging for the Beast Alliance figures and the actual toys? I just noticed today that Sawback was supposed to be a more "Real" brown rather than the turquoise and silver we got.

Looks like ROTB will be rereleasing some of the BB Energon Igniters in updated packaging!

I missed out on some of those legends class ones (Barricade and Evasion Prime), so I'm glad I'll get another shot at them

It honestly just makes me really happy to see those original movie renders still in use! :michaelbay:

EDIT: Also a very strange repaint of Ironhide as Battletrap:

While that was true for the Bay movies, I didn't think it was unreasonable to hope that a reboot would mean more visually distinctive designs, especially after the aesthetics in Bumblebee and the reuse of Optimus' Bumblebee design.

Bay's still around as a producer, and all of the other people who were in charge during his films are still in charge with this one.

I'm surprised we're not getting a Primal at every price point in the first wave.
