On this Tuesday afternoon, we bring to you the next round of the Prelude videos for the upcoming Combiner Wars show. This time, the video features Windblade, and she is not a happy camper in the slightest. Check out the video mirrored below, and you can check out the previous videos of Starscream, The Series Teaser, and Victorion.

Windblade, once an official 'City Speaker' to the gigantic 'Titans' is tired of the bureaucratic non-action of the Council, who seem to sit idly while her people and her cities on Caminus perish. She decides that the only way to end the Combiner Wars is to take matters into her own vengeful hands. The full series will be 8 episodes, coming to you Aug. 2!

Bit of a departure from her normal personality... hm. Not entirely sure I enjoy this; especially when the whole "I will get revenge" archetype has been done to death.

So she's a vengeful killer in this. huh. yeah, like Kurona said, far departure from what we've had so far. And we even got a peak at Devastator behind Menasor and Computron there. Wonder why those 2 keep getting the spotlight?

She's going to kill everyone!! She seems pissed at everyone including the mistress of flames..... and the Titans she speaks of as if they are impaired..... very Arcee like as someone else said earlier.

Well, as was said she's basically IDW Arcee, but I'll go with it. Windblade can just be one of those characters who's really different in every continuity. Anybody know who's voicing her here?

So, she's just a rampaging killing machine? No irony there.
There are only two possible directions with this - the vengeance sticks and she's just a mindless weapon, or it doesn't, she backs off or is talked down, and this whole "bit" was overblown sensationalism with no follow-through.

I'm excited and very curious. I didn't expect Windblade to be portrayed like this which makes me wonder how other the characters will be portrayed.

Awfully curious about what they'll do with this story given that we have Rodimus Prime and the Mistress of Flame on the Council. That and that, as has been said a few times here, that Windblade has been turned into an IDW Arcee with a grudge against the Gestalts.

"... the anticipated digital series from Machinima, Transformers Combiner Wars, which is the first installment of the Generations Prime Wars Trilogy, launching on August 2nd."

Did we know this before? That the machinima itself was the first portion of the trilogy?

It's more likely referring to the cartoon is an aspect of the first portion of the trilogy, just as the toyline and comic storyline were. It's just that the cartoon is the one aspect of the first portion that's coming so much later than the other aspects.

You guys forget how bent she was when she found Decepticons tampering with Metroplex. In the end this is a delightful reimagining. What if Starscream wasn't manipulating events in the background, what if Optimus wasn't there, what if there was no negotiating, what if Windblade was betrayed? How would that affect a character that has never seen a war. I am still excited to see some originality brought to Transformers.

I'm not forgetting; it's just I know it's not her dominant personality. She got angry and pissed about Decepticons tampering with Metroplex. Well... yeah. Of course she did. She isn't some sort of detached unrealistic robot who cannot feel anger - the point is rather that it doesn't fit her to be like this all the time. Most of the time she's calm, optimistic and altruistic - that's what defines her and it helps make her a parallel of Starscream. This doesn't feel like a version of Windblade as much as it feels just a random personality thrown into her CGI model.
And in any case, it's not really original. We've seen "war and the people who have made it have destroyed me and so I will get my revenge" a billion times, even in just Transformers alone - and the way she's being portrayed, as many have pointed out, is just IDW Arcee.

"Tired of the violence and destruction on Caminus, Windblade decides to become violent and destructive."

By the by, took another look at the prelude.

Since Menasor's legs are both the same car mold with the hood folded in front like a kneecap, seems he has Wildrider as a leg instead of Offroad.

Voice actor extraordinaire and fellow Seibertronian jON3.0 has some exclusive news on the new Hasbro and Machinima collaboration for the animated series Transformers Combiner Wars! Thanks to their Youtube channel, we have our first official Trailer for Machinima's upcoming Combiner Wars show! The series will bring to screens the Windblade-centric story based on the work of John Barber and Mairghread Scott for IDW Publishing, and will see 9 episodes of 5 minutes each, featuring the talents of Jon Bailey, among many others. The new Trailer is a minute and a half, and shows off some of the actual animated footage from the show. If one looks closely, they would notice a sniper's scope, Computron and Menasor star again, and there are a fair bit of twists and turns to be found!

So, Megatron's alive after all.

Also, Starscream sounds worse in this trailer than he did in his prelude (in which I felt he sounded okay). When he speaks here, I first thought it was a Mistress of Flame speaking before he appeared onscreen to finish his dialogue. He sounds like an old lady.

And there's a lot of Movie sound effects in there.

It really seems like Computron was originally going to be Superion, and that they just changed the latter into the former to make it so there's at least one combiner in this thing whose gonna have a toy out at the same time as the show's airing.

It's pretty cool John Bailey is doing the voice of Optimus Prime officially. First watch I didn't catch him doing Optimus, only the narration and it made me go "seriously? You're having John Bailey narrate but not him as Optimus?" But second watch, yeah that John. Awesome

best insight into it so far.

i was a bit aprehensive of the style but it works well with the neon/tron type backrounds.

nice to see they integrated stuff from the IDW run too interms of how cybertron looks (and its ONE moon

)

ill give it a shot when it comes out. best thing about the trailer is its piqued my interest without spoilering everything. the storys still pretty much a mystery to me (ya know beyond the OBVIOUS combiner element to it )

dying to see what theyve set up.

its looking to be the closest thing to the comics yet.

I see Maxima fighting Menasor, but I don't see her anywhere else in the trailer. I hope they don't pull a "Cliffjumper" and kill her off before we get to know her.

P.S. Starscream sounds more like his G1 character, why so mad, and Windblade has been murder crazy in the comics before and at least she's not like her RID counterpart.
