I'll be very happy if it includes a Marvel red headed Ratchet (hopefully not packed with yet another Megatron repaint). I suppose it could be something less exciting like a Tracks and Needlenose set.
I wonder if any of the other ones listed with SG Grimlock are SG figures? Number 3 may be considering how close its number is to Grimlock's, but 1 and 4 may not be. I suppose one could be the SDCC War Dawn set since it would still be a Pulse exclusive.

That SS Multipack is interesting, maybe It’ll be the 07 Decepticons?

As for Ratchet and Megatron, I wouldn't mind them in a set if it's ER Megatron with a black helmet and the SS86 Ironhide mold for Ratchet. Those 2 were intertwined throughout the G1 Marvel run, from beginning to end.
I also wouldn't mind an IDW set with Ratchet (same mold) and Drift out of the Siege Springer mold.
But would Hasbro still release voyager 2-packs or will they be sticking to deluxes?

Well I think some fans who want the Bayverse dinos out actually blame the SS86 versions for the delay. I can't say if there's any truth to that, all I know is I would love both sets. I didn't jump on the Platinum set from some years ago for that reason, but my patience is wearing thin. I have all the SS86 leaders so far and will complete the set. My fingers crossed for a red Swoop.Spider5800 wrote:D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Really hope that Grimlock is a sign that the rest of the Dinobots are finally coming!

I do. And considering the original SS86 (which included Grimlock and Slug in 2021) was meant to be WFC Part III instead of the beasts, I think that holds some water.

Understandably so, as they take Leader class slots away from the Bayverse versions. But on the other hand, we haven't even seen early design sketches, much less prototypes or finished products of the AoE Dinobots besides Grimlock. So I'm not sure if this was a hasty decision by Hasbro or if they had planned to put the G1 versions there all along.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:I think some fans who want the Bayverse dinos out actually blame the SS86 versions for the delay.

I get that some Kingdom figures got pushed into SS, creating SS86, but the Dinobots were never even in the Netflix series.

Neither were any figures in Kingdom outside the beasts, Galvatron, arcee, and the Ark. Rodimus didn't show up at all, the only commander not to. And arcee was in the whole series and Galvatron was introduced in Earthrise, so the show wasn't a good indicator for them.

I actually think SS86 was created in part for a way to do G1 leader class Dinobots. If you look at the history of SS versus the main generations line (prime wars, WFC or Legacy) the number 1 biggest difference I see is repaint potential for voyagers and leaders. SS was re-using less than 50% of the leaders and voyagers molds up to the point where SS86 began. The generations line however was re-using almost 100% of the leader and voyager molds in some fashion. The G1 dinobots really only have G2 or SG as an alternate us of the molds, and at $55 a pop a complete set of G2 or SG dinobots would be a pretty big risk, so they went into the SS line which was set up more for single use leader molds.
Just a theory I've had since SS86 first appeared.

This is basically my view even if it's a little reductive. They decided at some point that they were going to do all of the G1 Dinobots in leader class, they knew what was a multi-year effort, and they needed a home for it. It makes less sense to do that across WfC and Legacy or even within Legacy, than to have a dedicated more-or-less evergreen product line. Does it "steal" slots from Bayverse? Perhaps, but the choice to do five leader figures in a relatively short period is arguably as much responsible as the specific branding for the releases.
I've said it before when the Kingdom/SS86 debate first happened, and I think it's doubly true for lines like Buzzworthy: we as a fandom put too much stock into marketing decisions, especially when we don't have the insider knowledge to know how much marketing influences product design versus the other way around.

If I hadn't found the one in stores, I'd probably still be waiting with you guys too. Their preorders are very far behind lately; Hammond Collection figures are now on sale in stores that are still only preorders online for instance

And MAN, this thing is awesome! He really feel premium in hand. The paint is generous and precise, The bot barely have any kible, and the transformation is fun and intuitive.
A quality that is also a fault: The overall thing is WAY too tight, Especially his hook thing in a hand. It's so tight that pluging or removing the thing often take the whole hand off the socket. But appart that, it's still amazing.
I highly recommend this guy.

Even if everything is so small, the whole ensemble is definitely worth the leader price. The Optimus is perfect, the trailer is complex, there's tons of weapons, and everything looks great despite the usual missing colors and hollow bits.
The only time that I referred to the instructions was to know how to attach Prime's wings on his back (they don't tell you, figure it out yourself.) and where to store the weapons in the trailer.
All the transformation steps were easy to figure out, except how to transform the arms into the front part of the truck. That was a mind-bendre but it was very satisfying to figure out.
I don't know about other's copies, but the holes to store the big guns under my trailer were way too loose and had to be tighten up with super glue. That fixed the problem.
Overall I'm very happy with BB44 and it's well worth the money.
It will also be worth the money to get the upgrade kit and Reprolabels to make it even more perfect.

I;m pretty sure Evan light alluded to the idea that it gave them the budget to do proper scale Dinobots in one of the livestreams.
The OG Dinobots areb't "holding up" Bayverse Dinobots in that the latter wereb't on the schedule to even do at the point they started working on SS86 Dinobots. It's actually 'reductive' to think one is holding up the other at all, really.
Not accusing you of that X, just saying the word reductive applies better to that idea. I know Bayverse fans want their Dinobots (and I hope they get them), but it's not like Hasbro had to choose one or the other. What if they did the Bayverse ones again simultaneously with the OGs? From their aspect they might have been competing with themselves.
The version of it you present is more or less in line with how I see it in any event.

Have this one is bot mode and have the previous SS BB Prime in alt mode.
While I don't like the back, my main issue with the toy is that it goes out of its way to have the "fins" behind the exhaust pipes in robot mode but they are fake kibble because they dissapear for alt mode. And it's doubly unfortunate since those would have helped hide a portion of the kibble when viewed from the side.
