Man, writing Saber that was and not as Sabre is really making me twitch.

So we're at 4723 in 3 days from just US and UK orders. I honestly don't see any way for Star Saber to fail at this point

i bought unicron but will be sitting this one out. it could look much cooler but it does not.

I can kinda see how it could fail, but honestly I'm starting to feel confident in it's chances of at least getting funded, if not unlocking all the tiers.

Personally, I'm hoping we get tier 1, and they reveal that the next tier is Star Saber's shield which can act as a flight stand, and maybe throw in a similar stand for Victory Leo so that the Victory Saber jet mode (or whatever it's actually called) can be in flight. Maybe if HasTak are feeling generous they could also throw in a stand for Saber's jet mode so we could have a display that looks like the three jets are in the process of combining

The main thing I'm thinking of is the fact that we haven't got international orders or orders from other carriers, and yet Star Saber is almost 50% fulfilled with just the countries where he's extremely obscure. I assume we'll get a huge boom once Japanese orders come in.

Yup, the problem still persists on some items. Always depends on whether or not there is French on the box.

Right, but I'm also worried about if the vendors for the other countries charge too much. So for instance, when Takara gets it, what if they look at it and go "You want to fund Victory Saber? $350 USD!" making the Japanese fans that would have bit at $180 USD decide against backing it, thus robbing it of the anticipated backing boom that we'd assume would come from Japan?

I think it's incredibly unlikely Takara would screw their customers over that badly, but other companies that HasTak might partner with for other countries might try it to see if they can. Like I said, I'm fairly confident Victory Saber should be coming, but I can also see where it might fail in other countries

Also, while I do think we'll get that first Tier, that canon is definitely key to the toy. Would be a huge shame for it not to be made. I would have rather it just be included and not have tiers, but I guess tiers are part of the deal with crowd funded things.

IDW Optimus Prime didnt actually die in "Death of Optimus Prime". He just started going by Orion Pax again and went into semi-exile. He was in MTMtE in flashbacks and current time.

This Victory Saber does look sweet and I will more than likely back it. Although I do think hollow weapons, arms and such shouldnt be on something like this. I went back and forth with backing Unicron the whole time and greatly regret not doing it. So I dont think I can pass this up.

So far, it's only an issue with Toys R Us. Pulse will ship to Québec anything without any issue, if you conveniently ignore the base 25$US in shipping price for anything (titan or deluxe). That Centurion set was DAMN expensive to get but I got it. That's why Will and I team up for Agent Ravage to save on shipping.

I'm backing Victory Saber because that's something that I always wanted and the overall price is reasonable. I was backing Unicron but I chickened out some weeks later because that price was WAY too steep for something I only kinda wanted.

Now, if only Toys R Us would remove that stick up their ass and ship to Quebec whatever. Because so far, they are the ONLY ones that care about that language law. They also enforce that completely randomly because that exclusive GI Joe Baroness with Cobra Coil set was shippable to Québec despite the box having ZERO French on it. (I also learned of it's existence way too late...)

Makes sense. I am glad you are able to order most things. Everyone who wants this Haslab should be able to get it. I know that's not the reality of the world and it sucks. Hopefully enough retail partners will join in to cover as much of the globe as possible.

I really was in no financial position to fund Unicron during the time it was on Haslab. But even if I could afford it, like you said...did I really want it? Or was it just the novelty of owning something That BIG? I have no remorse, I made the right decision. I would have no place for it even if I did buy it.

I know MANY people have had a tough time during the pandemic, and I in no way make light of them. Oddly enough however, my financial situation has improved in the last year. (Before the Pandemic, spring/summer of 2019 had such things as me getting laid off, my wife being diagnosed with cancer, and only days away from being homeless), so yeah, it's ben quite a turnaround to meet all those challenges and beat them, none of the credit for that goes to me though.

But yeah, Victory Saber is a character I've wanted in some form for a VERY long time. I owned an Original Optimus, Rodimus, Fortress Maximus, God Ginrai, and a re-issue Star Convoy, but never Star saber or Dai Atlas.

Now I have Generations updates of All of those, except Star Saber (and regrettably Star Convoy. I know it is just a PotP retool, but without the hindsight of Super Megatorn, I do regret missing out on that).

But I will not miss out on this Victory Saber Set.

Zaavi and Robot Kingdom ship worldwide and Robot Kingdom is the exact same price as Pulse. So if your local distribution channel is too expensive, you can always get it from those (shipping will be pricier though).

Hey, just a question but the "jet trailer" that becomes most of Star Sabre's body doesn't really have an alt mode by itself right? It's just the trailer to the smaller jet?

That he is recedes ro the background and no longer goes by Optimus, which is what happens in the story that I put in quotations.

So yeah, Dark Shadow's role in the Roberts comics was beyond minimal.

So, I just had an idea: What if one of the tiers unlocks some alternate Brainmasters to give Saber some alternate faces? Obviously that wouldn't be the only thing included, maybe they could throw them in with Star Saber's shield.

I know this is probably reaching...and I realize Galactus was far more expensive But.... Would it be too much to think the tier 2 and 3 stretch goals could be additional Deluxe figures? I mean Galactus included 2 Marvel Legends as stretches.

Probably more realistic would be Micromasters, which would be ok, but deluxe toys would be really amazing.

He said "a few details here and there will probably change a little bit as we move forward but nothing too significant". That means the design itself is mostly final, anyone expecting more than what they see will be dissapointed.

What part of "they'll be tweaking things as they go" sounds the opposite of "a few details here and there will probably change a little bit"?

All this talk of Victory Saber has me wanting to pull the old toys out. I mean I won't, but the urge is there.

This is the first time I'm backing a HasLab campaign. I didn't do Unicron, the Sentinel, Galactus or any other one. Star Saber? LETS SAY GO!

It's "but nothing too significant" which sounds the opposite to "the design is far from final".

The design is not far from final, that was not said. And thus, I would not expect anything looking that different to what they showed so far.

That's where things might get a little weird since they did release a white car with blue bot body from that mold already as Road Police in the Target 10-pack.

Yeah, they would be best off just releasing a set as a stretch goal and not make people hunt through 3 year old releases to complete a team.

The design is not far from final, that was not said. And thus, I would not expect anything looking that different to what they showed so far.

The other guy stressed that this wasn't the final products and that "a couple things might change, we're going to try to improve everything where we can" which sounds like they still have a lot of work ahead. When Unicron was first being pitched they made it sound like they were basically done and then gave him an entirely new chin after people complained. I think they could do the same with Leo's visible hands in Victory Saber mode like add the flap from the original figure, I don't think that's beyond the realm of possibility this early on.

So, I know that when they revealed the first tier, they said that the color for the blast effects hadn't been decided yet, but did they say anything about if those were going to be the final designs? Cause aren't those exactly the same shape as Jetfire/Scorponok/the Ark's? That's be pretty disappointing to me if it was just a reuse of those ones

I'm fairly certain it will just be a re-use. They really only have 2 options for the lager blast effects, the single heavier one that first came with Omega Supreme and the 2 matching ones that came with Jetfire. If they are going to do that, then I at least hope they give us a color we haven't had yet. Green would look cool. I want to eventually make rainbow thrusters on something.

Hasbro seems very confident in their latest Haslab project. The prototypes are currently on display at the Boston Fan Expo. As a tie in to the event, Hasbro has released more images of Victory Saber, showing some different details and poses. We have a clear shot of the brainmaster mechanism (well, what it looks like when you insert the smaller figure inside the chest) for instance. Victory Leo is prominently featured with the V Cannon, which is a sign that Hasbro is quite confident (or adamant) in getting to that first tier. Right now, a myriad of countries can join in on the fun in ordering this set. If ever you are not sure how to place your order, drop a comment to this post in the message boards.

I'm getting more and more exited by the day!
I'm looking forward the colored shots and to know what the other tiers are.

Lol, other tiers? Its been stuck at below 5500 for a few days, I'd start getting worried instead, as it seems to have stalled

i chose not to back this one because i am not a fan of how the upper legs looked so short in combined mode. but im getting there. these new pics look way better.

That's only the orders from Pulse and Pulse UK and there's still over a month to go so I don't see any reason to be concerned at all yet. A lot of people are going to wait for colored renders or painted prototypes before they commit. We'll see massive jump towards the end once the international and third party shops get tallied in.

Yeah, I'm not worried atm. If we've already basically hit 5500 from 3 countries (didn't forget you this time WJ88) that Star Saber has no exposure in, then we'll doubtless get a huge boost once the international numbers come in, especially from Japan.

However, when I found out that you don't get any official notification from Hasbro of which backer number(s) you are, you only have to go back to the order screen and screenshot real quick, I realized anybody could do that, so it became far less fun of an idea. Plus there is a good chance that if they do a mass count of cooperating vendors, international orders etc. as the deadline gets closer, it could jump by several hundred in a short span of time.

Also just an odd observation; I was watching it for probably the last 30 or so minutes before it got to 5500. At one point the number actually went down by a little bit, indicating , I guess you can cancel your order...
