Also, that alt mode is just plain bad. Metroplex looks like he's someone's prison b!tch

Might bite, but then again I’m fine with the original one. All this one’s got over the original is ankle tilts and he’s taller. The original was way fun!

Why couldn't they have made tidal wave instead? Are the budgets spread so thin a transformation beyond crawling is impossible?

What do you mean disintegrate? Should I be worried about how much mine gets used?

It would be nice if Blitzwing's tank mode is large enough so that it just about scales with Kup and you can recreate that scene. I doubt it will be of course, I'm expecting Blitzwing to be only slightly bigger than Voyager with extra parts and maybe some complex engineering to justify the Leader price point. But I am clinging to the feint hope that he is a big Leader, Hasbro heard the feedback on Siege Astrotrain and are making another, larger one.
What, AGAIN? That Astrotrain was great! Awesome even that they bothered to include him a tender for his locomotive mode

I wonder if he doesn't come with Drill Bit because they're planning to release him as a stand-alone Weaponizer like all the recent Titan partner characters, or if he does come with him and it just isn't shown on this slide that very obviously isn't intended to be used in/as an actual reveal. It's not like the PotP leak revealed every single detail of the leaked figures, after all.

Hastak really thinks this is going to have major appeal?
No joke, I wouldn’t buy this if it were on sale for $50.
I am all for branching-out to cover/revisit various series, but this seems like a mis-step.
Which, sure, personally I can say, “Money, saved, & looks like the new Stunticons/Menasor are an even more likely purchase for me”.
But that doesn’t mean I’m in favor of things that could be bad for Hastak.
I don’t see that thing anywhere close to being worth $200.

I'm still hoping for a Titan Class Optimal Optimus and a Commander Class Transmetal Rampage.

When The Ark is in ship mode, there's those two small panels on the underside at the front. Those panels WILL pop off no matter what I do when transforming. Those things are annoying to deal with and WILL get lost sooner or later.
I find such "feature" unforgivable. Especially on a 200$ figure.

The answer is simple, really.
Legacy will revive the Unicron Trilogy. Even if there's not much UC characters, the introduction is strong with that Metroplex. I do hope the titan for 2023 will be Cybertron Menasor to pit against him.

I sincerely doubt this will sell in any significant numbers. Seriously, as a fan of Galaxy Force, this is just as badly realised as the equally poor Galaxy Force Prime that was just released in Siege. In both cases, you might as well get the originals, which I think still sell for reasonable prices in collectors' shops or online.

Explain "reasonable".
Because the only way for the price to be "reasonable" is for an incomplete toy. And that damn minicon seem to be made out of cotton candy underwater.
I've got mine. It was stated as "mostly complete". And unlike my Cybertron Menasor (no key) that was found at a flea market for 15$CAN, there's no secret compartment where the minicon is hidden.
So the only option is to buy the thing mint in box for actual titan price.

I disagree. However, as a disclaimer, I'll acknowledge that I'm going on observations from around a year or two ago. That said, I saw Galaxy Force Metroplex going for around 10,000 yen or less at Madarake and other similar shops in Akihabara, and I've seen the odd one in Book Off (or equiv) for a bit less. I've seen two-packs for Big Convoy and Magmatron, Galaxy Force Optimus Prime, Korean Beast Wars 2 figures, etc also keep fairly stable prices (just above retail or staying around 10,000 yen).
Here's some info that might be useful too?

A year is a LOOOONG time for prices to change.
Also, Mandarake still only ship by "no deal" DHL only for Canada. Meaning that contrary to Amazon.jp, shipping that Metroplex would cost close to 10K yen. Plus, since they don't charge any tax deposit, customs hit every single time. So that's 20$CAN plus the federal tax of the total order, plus the provincial tax (and that tax taxes the federal tax on top! Yay Québec!)
So until Mandarake finally allow EMS and small packets to Canada, any deals over there are nil and void.

Incorrect.
Although I agree with your point about price fluctuations over a year, your point about Mandarake is completely wrong. I live in Japan and they're relevant to me and anyone who has easy access to the Japanese market and seems ethnicentric to me (EDITED).
This is also why I included an American price info link, as it seems that the original version still sells fairly cheaply in (many?) markets.

Again, your comments are borderline ethnocentric. Please refrain from further comments of this type. You are a staff member; please act like one.
I highlighted the fact that in two markets (the US and Japan) there is the possibility of cheaper, more affordable original versions. Your own, finite and limited experiences are irrelevant to my points, as my points were to highlight the (possible) general states of things. Please understand the differences.
My points, quite obviously, still stand. If you're unable to grasp such simple points, then I'm afraid I cannot help you.

Right back at ya with your "ethnocentricity".
YOUR personal experience is totally irrelevant for EVERYONE outside Japan.
So your point "stand" only for you.
As for Americans, appart that single listing, finding a complete original with his Minicon for a reasonable price is pretty rare.

Based on my experience with the Ark, I do hope Drill Bit would be a separate deluxe release. The added budget would improve the mass and possibly add some mechanical gimmicks to the titan.
The original had the "staff" with sounds and key activated action. If the Titan don't have that feature, it would be quite a waste.
Also, I do hope that in "take me daddy" mode, the claw/saw thing will be able to reach the ground it's supposed to dig.

Titan would be way over the top. But if I remember the show, he was much bigger than his OG T-Rex self. So I think Commander class would be a perfect fit for him.

OG Cybertron Metroplex was bigger and more massive than leader Optimus and Megatron. I don't know if he was still classified as a leader at the time though. One thing is sure is that in the show, he was a titan.
I would have preferred Titan Armada Tidalwave, but C. Metro definitely fit the theme better. Plus it open the door to a possible Cybertron Menasor the year after.
Plus, I must reiterate. Titan Dragon Megatron would make no sense whatsoever. But it would definitely be a solid Commander.

People blew that wildly out of proportion. A leaker said that Hasbro was considering replacing Titan Class with a second Commander and bumping it to $100 (which I would have been fine with since I generally don't buy Titans). People took that and ran with it, and treated it like it was 100% going to happen.Hellscream9999 wrote:But I guess this means that the rumor's of the titan class' demise were just lies then

I hope they do Mini-Cons where appropriate, but only if they're way more fun than the WFC Micromasters. At appropriate size and with today's realities (like em or not) price-point wise, they're probably going to be a hard sell to do correctly. Heck, just reissuing the old ones might be the way to go.Hellscream9999 wrote:LinaNui wrote:My goodness this has seemed to really divide people. Of course I would pay $20/Mini-Con to get awesome new ones that are also a correct size, but I am also what most people would call "crazy" in that regard
