I can see it having a Matrix accessory, but as for transforming, with a giant head like that, I don't see tht as a possibility.

The Kids Logic one doesn't transform. The one that does is a 3rd Party product.

It bothers me that EVERY time someone does an awesome COE rig like this, they insist on having giant feet hang off the back of the vehicle mode.

This little SD Prime kicks so much ass but I just can't justify getting him for no bigger than he is and the fact that it's non-transforming compared with how much they are charging for him.
Never mind the fact that it's the holiday season and the only ones getting toys in my household for the next month are the kids. I can't even afford a lump of coal for myself after doing the Christmas shopping.

Edit: Need to remind myself not to get excited about overpriced crap

This thing's been on pre-order at my local hobby shop, and it's been tempting me to no end...and I don't even collect SD!
There's just something inexplicably cool and badass about it, despite those cutesy proportions. I just love that it lights up in so many places, especially the Autobot logo.
I just can't see myself paying that much for a non-transforming OP, though, and an SD one at that.

Angolz wrote:Kids Logic proudly presents the super deformed Optimus Prime from the Transformers G1 series. Sculpted with amazing details and painted in metallic to an incredible finishing.
- The action figure is poseable, stands approx. 6 inches / 15cm tall.
- LED lights up Creation Matrix, Optimus' Eyes and fog lights.
- Optimus' chest can be opened to access the removable Creation Matrix.
A true masterpiece with Kids Logic usual excellence of execution, not to be missed by any Transformers fans.

You're not being trolled. It's a low production specialty item compared to regular retail items. The amount of batteries and lights in this toy are what justifies the price. It's a high end collector's item.
Each light has its own set of AG1 batteries. A set of three of those batteries from Energizer or Duracell (which will last much longer than the cheap versions sold on Amazon or eBay) will run around $15 or so. Each foot has a set of batteries, as does the gun, the chest, the head, and the left shoulder/Autobot symbol. I like this approach so that the figure can retain its posability instead of being limited because of wires running from a common battery source.
Looking forward to Megatron!

I haven't decided whether or not I'm getting this, but it looks pretty fun. As far as desk fodder at work goes, this is top of the line, and adorable to boot. Might just have to make the plunge.

This is one of the coolest Primes I've ever seen and I wouldn't hesitate one second to put this in a clear display box and make it the centerpiece of my entire Prime collection.

The 15 small batteries are included inside of the figure. Unfortunately, the batteries were dying that were in his upper left arm/shoulder for the Autobot symbol. I thought the light seemed really weak at first and then it quit working altogether. $17 later at Walgreens, I was the proud owner of 3 new Energizer 364 batteries that are the same as the AG1 batteries. Supposedly, the name brand batteries of this type will last much longer. However, you can get cheaper versions that don't last as long from Amazon.com at http://www.amazon.com/SE-AG1-Batteries-Pkg-10/dp/B003OD8DAE/ref=sr_1_1?tag=seibertron07-20&ie=UTF8&qid=1388726734&sr=8-1&keywords=ag1. I couldn't complete the gallery without the batteries all working so I had to buy the more expensive ones instead of being able to wait for the ones from Amazon.

The plastic quality is nice. It doesn't feel fragile. He has a little bit of weight to him. He comes in at 9 ounces. In comparison, the larger and taller Masterpiece Soundwave figure (without any cassettes in him), weighs in at 14 ounces.
