Seibertronian Emerje also noticed that this combiner looks quite a bit like Universe Superion. Coincidence? Possible inspiration? You tell us!

dont see why not. megatron's an autobot now, and starscream renounced his decepticonhood as part of the political ploy that got him leadership of cybertron. the only contention i'd have with the set is bumblebee being dead.

He's still in Starscream's head. Also, I really dont think Kabaya cares about referencing modern american comics.

Remember, it's the same company that brought us Gaia Scramble, a Combiner made of 6 Limb bots:
1.) Fireflight / Slingshot
2.) Air Raid / Skydive
3.) Dead End / Breakdown
4.) Wildrider / Drag Strip
5.) Vortex / Blast Off
6.) Swindle / Brawl

Oh those Seekers and their jet kibble.
I really do like this, it's so nonsensical, but Kabaya usually does combiners well. Can't wait to have it in hand.

And, besides, Bumblebee's still dead in the comics, so his being here would be a poor reference even if it were one.william-james88 wrote:SG Roadbuster wrote:Carnivius_Prime wrote:Can't imagine Starscream and Megatron being all that happy about being used for stomping by Autobots.

If the stickers are that bad, I might just not bother, I've always found stickers annoying. Do Kabaya toys generally look okay stickerless?
You're going to want some stickers for it to look good. Flat stickers usually stay fine, but curving ones, especially over facial features are the tough ones. Paint would really be the best method since these are usually well sculpted. Looks like the faces are the only curved parts so it should be fine.
Paint's not an option for me, so I'm glad to hear that most of the stickers will be okay.

Just confirms something about Starscream that we all already knew.

For me it's not just the horns, but also the red and white jet chest, the cockpit leg, and mismatched feet. I doubt it was intentional, it just reminded me of it.

Ugh, don't remind me. Still, he'd have to have had lost a hell of a lot of pride and dignity to accept being used as an Autobot boot...

In other news, I tried taking the GDO Cyber Commander/Battalion figures these appear to be based off of and combining them in a similar way. It didn't work at all. I was hoping it was some insane easter egg that I just hadn't noticed with the figures, but hope faded quickly and I was left with a toppled mess of nonsensically transformed toys on the ground.

Energon wasnt mentioned because it doesnt have the yellow ears we are referencing.

You can already combine good guys with bad guys with both hero mashers and kinder surprize toys (the later actually let you do that ratchet/megatron mind melt)
You dont see it here but you can switch out the arms and legs with any other one of them.

You should read the IDW MTMTE comics
After that you won't be questioning things like this anymore

No freaking clue. Shouldn't they be released by now because we saw them about a year ago. And some reviewers on YouTube already got their hands on them.
I think I've read somewhere that they'll be Europe exclusives, but I live in Europe and they haven't appeared here anywhere.

Also, I long for the day when Bumblebee goes back to being a small car, in accordance with the original depiction of the character, rather than a muscle car. But, I dream...

Thats not how these kits work, each set has a theme. The two before were Pirhanacon and transformers RID 2015. The next one will something else unrelated.

The sets in the regular Transformers Gum line aren't themed by default, though certain waves are (Powered Masters/Big Powered, 3 of the 4 Special Team leaders, Fortress Maximus and Road Caesar in the DX line). Outside of that line, each series does have a theme:
- Gaiacross
- Gaia Guardian
- Gaia Scramble
- Transformer GO!
And now Block Wars. Do keep in mind that some of the kits in these series are smaller than those in the regular Transformers Gum line. Furthermore, I feel I should remind everyone they use partsforming between modes by default. That's how Kabaya pulled off that combined mode
:EDIT: And I just noticed an anomaly. If these are supposedly Japanese G1, why are they going by their US names and not "Convoy" or "Bumble"?

Super easy! Although you are stuck with 8 toys with a guarantee of the 4 different ones at least once.

Yeah apparently its not great. It only exists so that it can fit the food code in japan and be sold in particular grocery stores that would otherwise not sell toys.
Also, the falvour you would be getting would be banana.
Here is what you get:
8 Packs/Box
1 Assembly Pla Kit + 1 Sticker + 1 Gum (banana flavor)/Pack

No, they're fine (although the WFC version was kind of lanky). I just get a little annoyed when mainstream depictions take more cues from the live-action movie version rather than the original cartoon version; the other three "big four" characters don't deviate in their characterization as much as Bumblebee.
EDIT: That said, I'm still getting these someday.

Call me old school but I find Megatron deviating from a gun to a tank a far greater deviation than bumblebee changing the brand of the yellow car he is.

A staple of most Transformers fiction is that the alternate mode fits the character; Soundwave, for example, is usually either a recording device, a satellite, or a spy drone, because his schtick is keeping tabs on everything and everyone, and using information as his weapon. I see the two basic types of Bumblebees as very distinct character types, and I prefer the first one.

Glarryg wrote:I get your point, but I'm talking about more than just alternate mode when I say "characterization." Megatron's typically been a destructive, power-mad tyrant, whether he's a large ordnance (tank) or a smaller one (gun). "Small car" Bumblebee's schtick is that he's a small guy who wishes he was a larger, more battle-ready Autobot, so to make up for that he uses the talents he does have (surveillance, endurance, terrain adaptability) to help the Autobots secretly get the upper hand, as told by his motto, "the least likely can be the most dangerous." "Muscle car" Bumblebee tends to be more of a stock warrior character, most often characterized by a lack of a voice. They didn't make him interesting until RID2015, when he was put into a leadership role despite his inexperience.

Well, when compared to a pickup, a Hummer, a semi, a tank, a jet, a helicopter, and an alien plane a Camaro is still fairly small.
