the 3 packs are great-but I wouldnt be too interested in the Con one but the Autobot 3 pack sounds great.......I obviously dont have Wreck Gar or Kup and need an extra Roddy f the upgrade kit.
so much coolness in this line.CHUG is the best modern TF line IMO.

Depending on how different the paint apps are, one could get the more 'expensive' TFUnited Scourge imported to be Scourge, and troop build Sweeps out of the relatively cheaper US version so the mass produced ones all really do look the same.

Scourge, Kup, and Wreck-Gar will be available as regular Transformers United figures. I'm pretty sure that if you want this version of Galvatron, Cyclonus, and Rodimus you'll have to get these sets. It's possible that Scourge could have a different paint scheme to differentiate him for a Sweep with collectors.

Ah, I see, thanks. I'll probably be sticking with Hasbro versions this time around, but in the off chance the Takara ones are significantly better, it's a lot easier to pick up non-exclusive versions.

Cyclonus in movie colours like the other 3 pack = win.
I have to say I thought that Transformers United Kup's colours looked pretty movie accurate to me already.
They could gold plate Classics Galvatron and he would still be an absolute turd of a figure. Give him a Masterpiece already!
Hot Rod in movie colours would be seriously cool, bring on the pink!

They could totally do Hotspot from Inferno/Grapple as well but that one's a little less likely.

I think you mean Artfire or maybe even Load Hauler

Absolute win. I would snatch up both no matter how costly.

If you catch a still frame of the planet of junk, there are plenty of head molds to copy. Would be nice if a 3rd party company could just make a "Junkion head set" that way yoou can buy 3 cheap Wreck Gars and attach the heads. The could also make clip on body armor and weapons and shields to make them look different. Now that would be worth the money rather than a repaint.

I did actually mean Hotspot from the Protectobots. He would be the best choice for a repaint from this mold.
They've already done G1 combiner members like Strafe, Onslaught, Wildrider and Dragstrip and Hotspot would be a good choice if they wanted to use the Inferon/Grapple mold again.
I hadn't actually heard of load hauler or artfire until I checked your links. I wouldn't bother with artfire as I don't like his paint job, load hauler looks ok but think I would pass as I just don't have space for anything other than my favourite G1 characters/characters that were important.

Agreed, that could potentially be really cool.

I might be tempted by the Decepticon set but these are pretty pricey! $100 including shipping and that's just for those of us who live in Japan.

Blech, pass on these for sure. Not only do I dislike battle damage, I'm also not a fan of clear figures. Junkion is the only one that sounds interesting, and chances are we'll get the remold down the line with Hasbro anyway.

That clear purple plastic will have to look pretty darn cool for me to part with 8,000 yen.

Double pass on these, as I share the sentiments of the majority on here. Most of the versions I get, but why clear blue Rodimus?
Posted by Jazz-1982 on November 24th, 2010 @ 5:38am CST
A wasted opportunity. I'm sorry but he would have looked super cool in movie accurate colours (pink, orange, yellow and grey).
The Decepticon pack could be cool if it's done right but I'd have to love it for that price.

blue Rodimus doesn't bother me one way or the other, the Junkion will hopefully be released separately (or a 3rd party company will do a bunch of add-ons in a set, a few new heads some armour and weapons?) but Damaged Kup? could be more in line with the cartoon/movie colouring. He was always a bit dinged up on screen. That'd be nice.
Posted by rpetras on November 24th, 2010 @ 7:21am CST
I always see Kup as old and rusty, so the "battle damage" may be appropriate.
Depending on how they do it, a blue Roddy may work well in the Shadow FP armor (assuming I can get that)
And a Junkion with a remold from Wreck-Gar would be great! They can get a lot of remolding/repainting from this guy to make many variants, and I'd be on them.
Buying this will depend very much on the final products and the impending wallet pain.

Just a guess, maybe to simulate the blue light coming out of the Matrix when he opened it to destroy Unicron?

Here's an idea... how about a couple of new factions? You can come back to Autobots and Decepticons whenever you want. How about a new cyber world? In other words - tell us about the Gobots, Hasbro!

That would be kinda cool, but the legal rights to everything except the Gobots name itself, and a few of the character names, are sketchy enough that the lawyers would never allow it. They couldn't even call Armada Unicron's minicon Gobotron fer cryin' out loud. And I don't know about anyone else, but if I see figures called Autobot Scooter or Agent Turbo or Decepticon Cop-Tur on the shelves, I may just so much my face bleeds.
I would love a GI Joe vs Transformers line, though. Make the Joes really small like Human Alliance sized, I don't care, I just can't believe Hasbro's never done it (one prototype aside).

Unicron's moon being named Dead End has nothing to do with trademarks. The designers didn't want Unicron being overshadowed by a Gobots name homage, that's it. Hasbro has access to all Gobot charcters via Tonka, but not the molds. Crasher (as Fracture), Spoons (as Deadlift) and Night Ranger (as the cancelled Backtrack) got homages, and Bug Bite was kept intact as a character, but as a Decepticon instead of a Renegade.
Anyhow, Two factions (good and evil) per line are plenty according to Hasbro, and adding more would only cause confusion. Case in Point: Beast Machines Buzzsaw was originally a Predacon, but chucked with the Maximals instead.

I'd also be interested in more unaffiliated characters, or at least those with very loose connections to the overall military commands from them at least. Devcon, Lockdown, etc as bounty hunters, maybe a small warband of guys led by Bludgeon, that sort of thing.
