Luckily, I have no intention of ever putting him in jet mode, so I can just ignore...whatever that is.

The primarily black truck kibble blends in pretty nicely, and the grey wings and cockpit give a nice contrast, giving it a bit of a simple look. I mean I really enjoy the concept of Optimus Prime flying around as a jet with the words OPTIMUS PRIME written on the sides in huge letters. It kind of makes me think of those jumbo jets that had Pokemon painted all over them. But even easily amused as I am, it looks simultaneously gaudy and basic.
Speaking of jets I'm digging Quickswitch's jet mode. For some reason it really pops in those colours.

Any reason for the tip being painted blue? Also, any guesses at to why Quickswitch is the slowest mode on the box of the SPEED set?

Well G1 Quickswitch did have some globs of light blue scattered around, like on his chest, the roof of his hydrofoil mode, behind his jet nosecone, and his landing gear/targeting sight. I don't feel like any of those parts correspond to the tip of his jet mode nose but I guess they wanted to break up the white and wanted to use an accent colour he'd had before. Trying to fit a size Quickswitch foot into a size Sixshot shoe can be tough!
And as for the boxart, his buddies that transform into a truck and a dragster are choosing to go on foot so he's hardly the biggest offender in the "look good first, go fast second" department. Besides, if Transformers Cybertron is to be believed an APC can outrun a racecar if they try hard enough.

The blue is probably a cockpit or window.

Officially the Titan Master sits inside the rear of the jet mode (between and below the two red tailfins) but it could be some kind of secondary, frontal, upwards-pointing viewport or something I guess.
Unrelatedly, the plot of this boxset is pretty bonkers.
Rodimus Prime (in an unspecified body, with an unspecified relation to TR Hot Rod) wins a race and gains the power to control the speed of things but is forced to become a tiny head robot to wield that power. Decepticons show up, Fast"clash" and Quickswitch confuse them, Nautica (whose official function is Quantum Mechanic, which might be the best thing I've ever seen) allows the gang to escape using "faster-than-light" engines (did Rodimus really need to become a munchkin if she could already casually flout Relativity?) and then Optimus makes use of what are presumably faster-than-faster-than-light portals to escape the planet entirely.
It only this second occurred to me that Siege On Cybertron includes both Metalhawk and (sort of) Ginrai. I'm excited to see how nuts that Masterforce reunion gets.

Going off of that and looking at the bios and roles on the team. Laser Prime is "team leader" so i would hazard that "Magnus Prime" will be that team leader, with 2 more to come I would think. Also will be fun to see how they fit Thunderwing in there bio-wise

And believe it or not, that blue paint app in Quickswitch's jet mode is based on the blue hinge that the "nose" is on on the G1 figure.

Of course the most important part of the entire set is that you can remove Fastclash's spoiler to reveal a 5mm peg and thus create the greatest Devcon/Beast Machines Mirage homage of all time.

Quick question, does the hole on the crotch accept the heel of Titan masters? It looks like it but I'm not sure.

Yeah, when he's in dragster mode you can flip up the centre of his chest to form a seat for TMs.

this is a terrible looking jet in cool black and gray with GIANT OPTIMUS PRIME written on the side of his jet.

Can't wait for this set. I'm probably selling Quickswitch but that jet mode looks nice.

I expect it's a reference to the hinged pannel on the original toy that is used as a sight in gun mode that looks rather like that - it's also pretty obvious if you look at Madlaw too

Oh uhhh well Laser Prime is just a giant Optimus fanboy who pretty worships him now that is a very original idea for a character right Pyro?
But thanks Sabr now I have good justification for having two of these Optimus Prime's in my collection.

Laser Prime could also be a sufferer of the dreaded Primus apotheosis, in which the sufferer mimics most, if not all, aspects of Optimus Prime.

I'll have to see what I can do this weekend and monday in terms of the set. Curiously, that seems to be the only way to get that Prime/Octone mold as I've yet to spot it. I did spot Megatron many times over.

You guys have given my a new purpose with all my Optimus Primes. (This post is fine since it's Titans return related right?)
Laser Prime: Hey Optimus remember me from Omega 10 that one squad with Cannonfodder, Deadguy, Charlie Delta and myself?
Optimus Prime: Vaguely in all honesty I kind of forgotten about you for some reason my apologies Laser...Prime anyways who is your uh friend and wait did you change your color scheme?
Laser: No no it's fine I understand but my name is not Laser Prime anymore I'm Optimus Prime now and so is my friend.
Optimus: I'm...flattered but things are going to get confusing among the troops if there is more then one of me.
Powermaster Prime: Give me your face!
Optimus: What in the Allspark did he just say?
Laser: It's ok Optimus we understand that there is only one Optimus Prime and that's why were here to make sure you will never be in danger ever again we wouldn't want you to have your glorious frame damaged.
Optimus: Ironhide, Jazz get security in here now! Wait why are they not responding why are all my comms offline!?
Laser: Oh them? I just used my authority as leader of the Autobots to give them a long and well deserved vacation they won't be back for awhile but it's ok you will never have to worry about them again I'll take over for you but don't panic I'll leave Optimus here to guard you forever Optimus!
Powermaster Prime: I'll kill you!
Optimus: Primus no I remember why I made myself forget about you and all of the nightmares of Primus apotheosis you guys are all weirdos!

Since the boxset doesn't mention the Titan master being a separate character that could work but what Autobot scientist would give some crazy guy his own suit and one modeled on their idol?
Probably Brainstorm but alas we will never know unless Ask Vector Prime comes back and I nag them to make Laser Prime canon...always did want to leave my mark on the franchise preferably a background character named after me but hey that works too.

Man we totally need to have a completely murderous Autobot on one of the future tv shows someday movies are too short for this kind of character.

Well, the trope of 'overly violent rogue that eventually joins the main team and learns to turn it down a notch' has been used a few times in the franchise. Off the top of my head I'm pretty sure RiD 2001 Ultra Magnus and Armada Blurr fit that mold somewhat. And then there's some that never learned the lesson and were just flat out horrible; Marvel Flame and IDW Skyfall for instance.
I do like the idea, especially when you're attempting to show the two sides as not just ultimate good and ultimate evil. Throw in a bit of gray not just by making the Decepticons a bit more sympathetic, but also by making some Autobots genuinely bad and violent. I always thought the Monsterbots would work especially well for this...

I'm thinking of a character that is a combination of the two descriptions your saying on missions he is completely blood thirsty never learns except for maybe near the end of the show while off missions he is chill and respectable but still obviously off his rocker so pretty much IDW Whirl is who i'm describing.
A good rounded Autobot cast for a new show would be something like this in my opinion: The wise (Optimus), learning (Rid Bumblebee) or confident leader (Mtmte Rodimus but actually competent) followed by The calm and collected second in commands (Prowls or Jazzes), rookie that becomes experienced by the end (Bees,Hottytooshotty,Smokeys), a kind medic or a cranky medic who learns to let go (Ratchets in general), a serious (Cyb Jetfire) or quippy (Airraids) flyer, the big guy in any personality (Ironhides, Bulkheads, Grimlocks), a super cool badass sports car(Sideswipes,Jazzes), a rogue type (Crosshairs,Ratttraps), a quirky engineer (Wheeljack, Brainstorm, Nautica) finally a few sixth rangers and/or a Combiner team that join the cast afterwards.
As well as a murderous guy in there somewhere.
If there had to be females make sure their not the token female as in there is only one of them per show (Most Arcees) I enjoy Rid Windblade for this very reason since much rather there be no females at all then just one but then again I don't really care for defined genders in robots.
Pretty sure that was the intent of the Monsterbots to be monstrous characters completely unlikable except for the fact that their unlikable.

Boo distribution. you strike me to the heart once more
Posted by RAR on March 25th, 2017 @ 7:41pm CDT
Going by the aligned continuity the ratio of male (or gender non-defined) to Female is about 11 or 12 to 1.
Though those numbers may differ for Maximals and Predacons and There is the unresolved issues related to how multiple characteristics interact.
For example a female Minicon would relate to 2 ancient primes and not just Solus Prime. then there is the whole question of if Females should even exist at all once Solus is dead and likewise for any other archetypes who are also dead.
Then there is the question of what characteristics would even be being passed on by say Alpha Trion for example. Or if Optimus Prime' legacy is from Prima or Alpha Trion.
My head hurts. But anyway 1-12 seems about right to me for Transformers Fembot numbers or indeed any other archetype like Minicons too.

You are in a nightmare scenario where you have to pick between TR Triggerhappy or TR Blurr (or Legends Blurr, or any of the Brainstorms or whatever version of the mold you feel is your favourite). Which one do you pick?
And no cheating by saying you'd just get another version of the toy you didn't pick!

You go Triggerhappy. Of the first 3 waves, that figure is amazing and probably the best figure available right now, and in the past year or 2.
and yes, I do like Twinferno more cause me, but I will not deny that Triggerhappy is the best figure of the past several years

I don't recall Blurr ever being called the best of the year. He wasn't even the best of his wave.
