Site sponsor Robotkingdom has posted a series of in-package images of Transformers Generations Voyager Sandstorm, a heavily (and awesomely) retooled and repainted version of the previously released Voyager Springer. Even better, they have sealed cases of Hasbro Transformers Generations Voyager Wave 4 featuring this guy in stock and ready to ship!
SANDSTORM lives for action. His only real fear is a fear of boredom. As a result, he takes unnecessary risks, both in combat and out - risks that can sometimes threaten the success of his missions. He lives fast, loud, and dangerously - traits that make him fun to hang out with most of the time. But his fellow AUTOBOTS are getting a little sick of his habit of giving away his position to the DECEPTICONS just so he has the opportunity to enjoy a fight.

4 per has always been the Voyager case breakdown.
Unless you're talking about there being 4x Sandstorms per case, which is incorrect.
2x Sandstorm
1x of Blitzwing and Springer
I'd say the next case assortment would have a Blitzwing redeco, if we get one.

I can't wait to get this figure. As always the only thing that'll probably stop me getting this will be Takara's version.

Who could they repaint Blitzwing as? Who else has a tank and jet mode?
Maybe they could paint him purple, white and mint green and call it "Three Shot".

I just ordered Springer and Blitzwing from Amazon. Stores never have anything.

This one has huge back wheels added, the rotor removed, a new weapon, a front grill/bumper added, the legs retooled to account for the replacement of the rear wheels, AND a new head sculpt. Oh, and the tail was re-tooled too!

Overcharge
Bludgeon
Slamdance
Gutcruncher
Reverse Convoy
Doubledealer (requires extensive retooling)

Anyway, Sandstorm is really impressive and near-perfect. Only issue I can see is that those wheel/turbine assemblies are going to take up a lot of shelf space in robot mode, but it looks like it's possible to fold them back and down.

I would love to see a Slamdance retool out of Blitzwing. But thinking more about it, they could also make Overlord out of him. Probably not everyone's first choice for this mold, but it might happen given Overlords recent appearances in the comics.

I wonder if hasbro can do Astro-Train and Octane like these guys?
Posted by Sabrblade on June 14th, 2013 @ 2:05pm CDT
No thank you. That robot mode of Blitzwing's would hardly do Overlord proper justice.Fires_Of_Inferno wrote:I would love to see a Slamdance retool out of Blitzwing. I kinda wish they went with the more toy-accurate mouthplate rather than the cartoon-accurate regular face.
kirbenvost wrote:It is truly impressive how extensive the remolding is. It actually looks like a substantial amount of plastic has been added. Which still makes me wonder why they couldn't release TF Prime Breakdown, but I should really stop being so bitter about that, lol...
The lack of Breakdown might not have had anything to do with the amount of plastic. The only official reasons we got for him being skipped were "not up to Hsbro's standards" and "no-man's land price-wise"... which are ridiculously vague and could mean anything.

Yeah, me too I think (though I've got none of them in hand so far). It just looks sweet.
By the way, your avatar is making me hungry.

I'll never understand why guys like you always jump at the Takara stuff when the Hasbro version is perfectly fine. And costs less.

Personal preference. What's fine for you throws others for a loop.

Then there's the delusion/myth/fact (take your pick) that TakaraTomy's stuff is superior to Hasbro. Me, I don't care.

Has Sandstorm had any kind of more recent comic version that this could possibly be closer to?

If anything, he'll appear in that form in the IDW comics just to sell toys.
And cool, the fans rotate! Loving him more and more.

Not that I know of. The closest thing I could find that (barely) resembles this Voyager is this:
The little backpack and maybe a bit of the torso look similar, but that's about it.

I'm sure I'll end up getting this eventually but I've got other items higher on the priority list right now that I'm saving $$$ for I.E. Fortress Maximus and 3rd party Stunticons.
