Another breakthrough from
The-Arker, this time including an Autobot Leader Class figure.
Toy Fair 2010 signalled that Hasbro would finally be releasing another version of the fantastic Leader Class Figure with 'Battle Hooks'. In-package images show that this is not the only change, as Prime's face has been redone as well. Check out the biography and images below!
Optimus Prime is under no illusions about how dangerous Starscream really is. The Decepticon second-in-command might be a coward, but he's still smart and powerful enough to present a real threat to Earth. The Autobot leader has Human and Autobot agents combing the globe for the hiding air warrior. As soon as they find him, though, it will be Optimus Prime alone who goes in to bring him down.

Hooks without giant Grindor to rip face off of=LAME.
There's no way Hasbro can expect us think he ripped off StarScream's face....

I've been a doubter this entire time that Leader Blackout would ever show up. We've got another movie which signals another toyline. Who knows! I'm a bit exciting about this figure. Never got Leader Prime the first chance.. maybe this one will be the one.

Those are some strange windows he's got in the images on the back of the package - looks like someone threw baseballs through 'em. Can't decide if I like him or not since it's still boxed up and the package pics are obviously very different. Would have liked to seen more "dirt" paint apps on him, something you'd expect after playing smackdown in the woods.

The paint application on the face as depicted in the picture on the box looks great. The paint application on the actual toy looks horrible! I hope that is not the final version!
Prime used these hooks for like 5 seconds in the whole movie. I don't need to buy a new figure just for that.

I'm pretty disappointed I'm gonna be buying both Buster Primes from Takara instead of this, this, whatever this is. Hasbro had an easy win opportunity there. What happened? Who wanted this?

Who saw this coming?

My wallet loves all the new offerings from Hasbro! I haven't bought a single toy from RotF, and I will be passing on everything until the Generations Deluxes hit. In fact, the only 3 toys bought in stores in the last 9 months are Universe Voyagers Vector Prime and Inferno at Christmas (on sale for $9.99 each), and TFA Arcee last week!
Thanks Hasbro

That face is so "SON, I AM DISAPPOINT."
And what's he supposed to do with "battle hooks"? Abort Decepticon protoforms?

i would like the paint job to have looked like the forest battle or desert battle or even have a rust color instead of black i would have liked to see a movable face plate like the cybertron leader prime where u pull a little lever and a face plate pops up over his mouth or a face pops down and shows his mouth anyways i am going to have a interisting to[pic on this be on the look out for this topic by me it will be titled something like this
Dont need battle hooks prime when u can make one
or something like that just look fora topic by me

meh, the swords were okay being on the side of the arms instead of replacing his hands, but not the hooks. And the battle-damage is terrible! Extreme pass

I kinda like the hooks, but would have been better if you could just swap the swords out for them. It's the paint job that spoils things. That dosn't look like battle damage, it's looks like a little kid with a lighter got a hold of him.
"And what's he supposed to do with "battle hooks"? Abort Decepticon protoforms?"
Hooks are nifty, man! Even Batman has hooks! It's like a Swiss Army Knife-ish, MacGyver kinda thing!

This is definitely a pass. The paint job is horrible on the head. I am waiting for upcoming Voyager remold or that Takara repaint with Jetfire parts. The Leader classes have been a letdown for me.

This reply is waaaay late but anyhow...
I never really thought Leader Grind/Out would exists(just REALLY hoped for it) but this toy seems to up it's chances...
Didn't that guy say in the interview that they made this toy to "reenact the forest battle?"
You can't do that without
Grindor:No..not me...OWWWAAAAAGGGGHHH!!!! *gurgle splatter crash*

This is a real waste. Battle Hooks Optimus Prime? The name even sounds stupid.
Actually, I didn't realize they were hooks in the movie. I thought his energon swords just got all busted up and became little stubs. Whatever, I'm passing on this either way.

Both of my blades on the current ROTF Prime suck. They won't stay in place when folded back. I hope that these hooks do stay, not that I'm getting him. Money's tight and I can only get the guys I've been saving for.
Now a decent priced Prime with a gun.... that's another story.

Is it me, or did Prime never have proper "hooks"?
It seemed to me that his axes just got messed up and he was using the shattered remaining strut/support/things they were affixed to. So I'm surprised and confused why they would make a toy of it.
No, what Hasbro need to do is remake the leader Megatron (an up-scaled voyager mold would be fine) and make a leader Blackout/Grindor.
Listen to us, dammit!
