Ultra Magnus' Corona Glaive may be the best looking, followed by the Leonid Tonfa. Since when do tonfas have blades? Shockwave's Shooting Star Scissors (try saying that 3 times fast) is downright silly. O well.

Leo Prime
Function: Maximal High Commander
Suddenly appearing on present-day Earth after sensing the threat of Unicron, Leo Prime is a Transformer elder who has crossed over from a distant dimension. On his former world, he was a revered high commander known as Great Lio Convoy. In order to avoid a space-time disturbance, he refrains from interfering in the battle between Optimus Prime and Megatron. However, should Unicron awaken once again, he has vowed to use his ancient sword, drawing power from his Energon Matrix, to put a stop to the evil force.
Super Combo Weapon:
Leonid Tonfa
So... Leo Prime is the very same Lio Convoy from after both Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo, having dimension-hopped from the Japanese G1 cartoon continuity into the Japanese Prime continuity.
I'm both impressed and indifferent towards this. I like how he's actually got a backstory and ended up being an established character, but at the same time, I guess I was hoping for an Aligned Continuity incarnation of Lio Convoy instead of the same exact guy having dimension-hopped and gotten a new body. Oh well.

Well, you know who to blame, right? Put short, Leo Prime = Lio Convoy. Joy for the wiki.

Grimlock is gonna be a buy-on-site for me, so I'm gonna need to keep around an extra $30 on me.

QFT! I loved the FOC game too and really enjoyed playing as Grimlock. I especially liked seeing most of his team running around with him as well. When you do this, you must post pictures on here. I share your excitement and cannot wait to get him! I may even buy 2...one to play with and one to display because I know I'll be transforming him a lot!

And not just compared to Deluxe Optimus, but he's roughly the same height as the Voyager Soundwave mold, which itself is a VERY big Voyager.

I think the only back kibble he has is gonna be his upper T-Rex body half folded down and set on his back. In the game, he didn't have any of those big shell-like wings the G1 figure had.Va'al wrote:Are there any pictures of the back kibble for Grimlock?

It looks like the section with the neck (gold part) and head will collapse into the section with the beast arms, which will then collapse behind the robot head. The beast head obviously ends up -inside- the chest in order to achieve the LED gimmick in robot mode. You can see a pinned hinge in the first picture of his beast mode and in the fourth picture of the robot mode (with the shield front and sword raised) you can see the gold part of the neck collapsed into that silver section where I assume the beast arms are. In proper Grimlock fashion, his legs are his tail and his his arms are his beast legs.
I do have to say, I kind of miss the beast kibble wings, they were a nice touch, but I won't lose sleep over it. They certainly did an awesome job with this guy, I love how his hand can hinge down into his arm!

Forgot about that one, thanks!
I'll wait for a review or two, but I'm losing my 'squeee' for this figure.

Megatron Wolf wrote:im afraid of what grimlock is going to cost now, hes twice the size of a deluxe & has lights. Id be very surprised if he stays $20. But the first thing is finding him, there still hasnt been any FoC figures in any of the stores here. Been keeping my eye out for Soundwave and there arent even spots for them.
Hasbro doesn't do multiple price points within a class, if it's Voyager class it will be Voyager class pricing. All the Prime Voyagers have lights and they haven't been any more expensive than standard Voyagers, at least in Canada. I know in the US TF prices have been creeping up in general but the point is Grimlock won't be any more expensive than any other current Voyager.
Grimlock looks totally badass. Finally a light-up gimmick done right and a great aesthetic. The gappy dino mode isn't perfect but it's still pretty decent.
Blaster isn't quite as nice as the Takara version but still nice enough. And Steeljaw got a remold! Sweet!
Finally we're getting some awesome FoC figures. I have no idea why Hasbro decided to release the crappy ones first. Wave 3 Deluxes and the Voyagers look so much better than the first 2 waves of Deluxes.

Was never interested in Blaster...or the Voyager Soundwave mold period.
Posted by Noideaforaname on December 13th, 2012 @ 2:05pm CST
- Nonexistant dino-belly
- Dull robot mode
- Hands and thighs are 'supposed' to be black, while the hips are 'supposed' to be red
+ Light-up gimmick
+ Apparent size
+ Lightning Strike Whatever Insignia
+ It's Grimlock
Eh, I think I'll wait for a G2 repaint.
Posted by Wh33l Jck on December 13th, 2012 @ 2:17pm CST
He looks a little dull colored with no bright paint apps, but I have a feeling re-prolables could do something really sweet for him....
I'm very excited for this figure...please, please let there be more FOC dinos in the future!!!

I don't know if it's how Hasbro prices them or just retailer choice, but if you go into any retail store, you'll see DOTM, Prime, and FoC Deluxes at two or three different price points.

That's retailers for the most part, especially right now, being close to Christmas and all.

Let's add "within the same line" to the original quote, and call the whole thing off.
Really though, between lines, the set prices of Size Classes can vary a dollar or two, but within the same line, there's no such thing. The one exception would have to be Prime Bumblebee, who shelfwarmed or was overstocked so badly, that Toys 'R Us of all places put $5 stickers on the packaging.

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought we were talking about whether or not the FoC Voyagers might be at a different price point than Prime Voyagers, which I think is possible. But if you're talking about FoC Blaster vs FoC Grimlock, then I agree that it's unlikely they would have different price points.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I guess I should know I need to be very specific with my wording.
The guy I was responding to made it sound like he's concerned Grimlock will be more expensive than his wavemates or other FoC Voyagers because of the size and light-up features, so I was responding to that.

I have to agree on the plus points. Especially the LSC symbol.
As I said, I'll wait for more pictures or a video.
It would be nice for the weapons to tuck in somewhere, given all the hollowness of the mold.
Doesn't looki like it will happen, though.
EDIT: Looked at it again.
He doesn't have ball jointed hips!
But, on he downside, the transformation looks waaaaay too easy.

SHESH,
his chest is a bit too big while his sword and shield are too small(i'll give ya that my complaints on the weapons are rather nitpick-ish), but his dino mode just kills it.
the tail looks REALLY wierd, the whole thing looks more like the small dinosaur given as an accessory for Xboxlive or a chibi and his crotch in dino mode is hallow(and its really noticable is u were to try to make him stand as erect as he does in the game).

I wish there was a deluxe soundwave to be in scale with optimus.

Breaking news! There were Deluxe Soundwaves and Megatrons in the original WFC line back in 2010!
And considering you didn't know about them, I'm assuming didn't know about these fellas either:
