I do on the Masterpiece mold, yeah. This one I'd care less about if Thundercracker weren't such a great character in IDW right now.

I’m so glad the TCC FINALLY retired the Classics mold, good grief... but now with the legends mold it’s like ugh, can we have something else now that’s not so repetitive please? JMO

Amen. If not for this being Thundercracker and in his 2009 ongoing body, this toy hold far less appeal to me.ScottyP wrote:MartianSpyGirl1996 wrote:Does anybody else have Seeker Burnout besides me?

I'm not familiar with him. Where did you buy him? Cuz if there's a seeker I don't have, damnit I want it.

Great, now I want TFCC to come out with a seeker who's upset and dismissive because he's the last of a bodytype before the chassis was replaced. He was too early to get the new body, and too late to be anything but the shadow cast by Greater Bots. Like Acid Storm, and Thundercracker.

I think that's the third-party Legends-scaled Scourge. Who's making them, I don't remember, but I think they're also doing equally-sized versions of Cyclonus and Galvatron, who definitely takes his cues from Mania King.

I don't know if it's 5mm, but it sure looks like a port. Good eye MM.Mindmaster wrote:so is it just me, or is that definitely a 5mm port smack dab in his forehead? Implication that Leader Starscream will have a crown?

As a reminder, this a retool and redeco of the first Generations Leader figure Jetfire - check out below how it turned out!
The vehicle mode looks great, but the bot mode is lacking. It would have been nice to put some paint apps on the underside of the wings, for one. That wouldn't ruin the look of the alt mode at all. Heck, if it's too hard to fill in all of that gridwork with red paint, they could have gone for the G1 red and silver stripes on the outer wings instead. The thrusters on the back could have painted gray/silver to better approximate the shoulder intakes in bot mode, which are unfortunately missing. That would change up the vehicle mode a bit, since the thrusters are black, but it would have been an acceptable compromise to me. Finally, a retool for the null rays would have been nice. They look a little clunky as is. Maybe they couldn't do this for logistical reasons, but it would have made more sense to me to cut out the excess guns to save on plastic costs and use the savings for a more detailed paint deco. Not bad, but far from perfect.

Kinda. I mean, we've been getting a lot of Seeker molds and a lot of uses from each one (save the Armada version) and I'm sort of glad that Voyager didn't pan out because of all that.... but at the same time I'd happily buy more Kreon Seekers (those're the only ones I collect anyways).

Although actually, The Leader Class figs are not a perfect scale, and I think an HO scale Dog figure would scale very well and be visible enough: (1:87)

Rated X wrote:Theres nothing thundercracker about this mold, starting with the fake chest cockpit. Even with all the retooling you still got a blue jetfire with a seeker head.
It's blue, has Thundercracker's color layout, resembles him physically, and it turns into a jet, fake parts or no fake parts. That's pretty Thundercracker if you ask me.
And the pointless leader scale that scales with nothing makes it an even bigger joke.
Not that Transformers has ever given a flying flip about scale, but jets are usually way bigger than cars, and a leader Thundercracker is about as close in scale to a deluxe car as we're going to get.
MP Hasbrocracker already exists.
This is a Generations toy aimed at 8-12 year-olds, while MPs are most decidedly NOT any of that. For kids, it's a big simple blue jet transformer, qualities with a lot of appeal. And since they're guaranteed to sell SOME, it's an easy way to get more money off the Jetfire mold. That's why it exists.
This thing didn't need to be created.
Does any toy really "need" to be created? Does fancy jewelry? Do computers? We have certainly created a need for all of these things in our culture, but fundamentally they're all fairly useless. Now, if we accept that we don't need but want Transformers toys, there's definitely some that deserve toys more than others. I'd like a leader Sky Lynx before a leader Thundercracker, personally. But between the ability to sell a popular comic character to collectors, a big blue robot jet to children, and the ease of retooling an existing mold into this shape, I can see why we got this instead of something else. You don't like it personally? That's fine. But don't turn personal disinterest into "it has no right to exist," which is the general implication of your post.

I was planning on getting all three Seekers if they made the other 2. But then I saw that yellow prototype Starscream which they may release. So I'll be going for that.
They did a good job in remolding a lot, more than just the head.

I'm gonna hate myself in the morning but I'm not too keen with the retool. Maybe an upsized more intricately design from that legends scale. The Jetfire mold should have been left alone.
Though from an economic bottom line view point, maybe Hasbro and Tomy dumped oodles of cash in that mold that they have to squeeze it for all its worth to recoup the investment.
I prefer that other abandoned mold.

I mostly agree, although it’s a spot on seeker, reguardless of the cockpit... I see no Jetfire in this. However, I wish a different figure was given his slot instead... we only get so many leaders a year, and I’m disappointed it was given to Thundercracker as this will be his 6th release in the last 4 years, not including the Prime, Kre-O, and other releases

If I get really bored I might try removing some pins...
Other than that, I really like the colour palette in use, the vibrant purple really contrasts with the muted military green, though I would have like the red pieces to be a little deeper red (similar to G1 Megatron) as they are now, they're an orangey red. However, I don't know the original character design/toy, so this might be the "correct" colour to have used.
Headsculpt is cool, great multi-level detail, face size is a little smaller than G1 Megatron, and a little more "in scale" in my opinion. G1 Megatron's head was just a little too big, by maybe 10-15% to me.
Great release, not worth the $95 I bought G1 Megs from Toyworld at, but for $69 (or $79? I don't remember) I thought I'd give him a shot.

It's not the worst thing ever, but not something very thrilling either.
I'm not sure this was a good reuse of the Jetfire mold. Doesn't really suit the seeker form in robot mode, the wings are too different from how they normally are on seekers.
I really don't like that deceptibrand on his right shoulder. Just looks like they had no idea where to put that so just picked a random spot.

What? I'm a little bit confused as to what you mean "remolded into a cartoon accurate Skyfire". It would seem a little silly releasing 2 figures of the same character in the same line from the same base mold only a year apart. Both the Classics and Generations versions of him are pretty close to the cartoon version of him. Really, the main thing either of them would need is a different thruster pack. Jetfire's head without the battle mask is an almost perfect representation of Skyfire. Jetfire even has that weird window that was on the bottom of Skyfire's jet mode. Sure an MP Skyfire would be nice but it would have to be HUGE.

Ay. Like him. But if I recall correctly that figure had a bunch of design problems and QC issues.
