Nope, Platinum Edition products are available at Toy-R-Us stores, in addition to some sites online. Thats how I got my Grimlock Evolution 2-pack.

More recent Platinum Edition releases are popping up in stores. Only YotS Optimus and Omega Supreme, and Predaking haven't gotten Toys "R" Us treatment (as far as I know).

To clarify, every Platinum Edition figure after the first three (Year of the Snake Prime, Year of the Snake Omega, and G1 Predaking) has come to U.S. TRU stores.Observedhalo wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:chuckdawg1999 wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:That's the Leader Grimlock I'm gonna go for, and the Leader Prime will be a nice bonus. Don't think so.

shajaki wrote:i havent seen TF4, but is this grimlock more screen accurate? either way i like it.
It is, at least as far as the color palette chosen. In several shots in the movie, it's obvious the Dinobots are NOT all gunmental gray, as you might first think. They have subtle hues on some parts of their models that evoke their respective toy colors, but not anywhere near the extent to which the toys "pop" with color. The exception is Grimlock, who in the movie has a bluish-green hue to some of his body, which this Platinum Edition version tries to capture. The other choice is the Takara "Dark Knight" leader version, but it's pretty uninteresting in terms of coloring (gray and black). Another nice perk to this Platinum Edition is the seeming lack of chrome parts that the mass release version boasts. It'll probably be a lot more durable if you transform your figures frequently.

No, they're not. These are the Platinum Editions for the Movie:
- Silver Knight Optimus Prime (First Edtion repaint)
- Optimus Prime & Grimlock (Voyager molds)
- Breakout Battle (with Rusty Prime, Rollbar and Crankcase repaint)
- Leader Class Optimus Prime & Leader Class Grimlock
- Autobots United (5-pack)

Derp. My bad. Are you sure about the Silver Knight Optimus Prime? I thought that was a Target exclusive.

Observedhalo wrote:Derp. My bad. Are you sure about the Silver Knight Optimus Prime? I thought that was a Target exclusive.
There are several Silver Knight Optimus Prime repaints out there (Smash & Change, Titan, Deluxe), all of them Target exclusive. But the First Edition one is a Platinum Edition:
And probably an Amazon exclusive much like the parent mold.

Just checked Tf Wiki. It a Target Exclusive. The whole Silver Knight thing is. Im pretty sure its just part of the Thrilling Thirty line, not a Plat.

It says "Platinum Edition" smack-dab on the box.

Just checked TFWiki myself, and while it is under the Target exclusive banner, note the wiki has been known to be incorrect at times, While the assumption is easy to make, we still lack official confirmation (hence me saying "probably")

By Autobots United set, do you mean this?
If so, no. That's an Asia exclusive.
The AoE Leader 2-Pack should show up at TRU.

He's refering to the 5-pack with Evasion Prime, Hound, Drift, Crosshairs and Bumblebee.

Fairly certain that this is what he meant:
As it stands, all Platinum Edition sets (which is what all three of the sets listed are) will more than likely be available at Toys "R" Us.

No idea at this point. At BotCon this year, where they were revealed, they either had no placards or the placards read "TBA".
The second wave of Generations: Age of Extinction, if that's what you're referring to, should be available. I picked up Drift a little while back in mid-June.

I'd expect the Platinum sets to be released between late summer and Fall, and Wave 2 sometime later this month or early next month.
It's good to remember that Age of Extinction will last until the end of the year, making it a pretty short line compared to earlier 1 to 2 year lines.

It's simply too early to tell when they will be released. Hasbro often announces the existence of new toys before deciding upon a release date for them.TransformersFan89 wrote:Ok thanks. Does it vary by store? Or could it mean that they might have been cancelled?

Hey, I have just taken a look what the wonderful Toys R Us UK website and I spotted this...
http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Toys-R-Us/Toys/Action-Figures-and-Playsets/Transformers-4-Optimus-Prime-Voyager-Evolution-2-Pack(0129582)?searchPosition=39
Once again the U.K. will see the release of the old Classic Voyager Optimus Prime with the added bonus of his new TF4 movie Voyager Evasion Mode Optimus Prime with the recently announced Evolution 2-pack. What a treat!
Priced on the TrU UK website at £39.99 (but currently unavailable) this looks like a great buy for new and old fans alike!
Now, while I have your attention, Toys R Us UK also have a Transformers Age of Extinction Buy One Get One Half Price promotion currently running on all AoE figure, which as the title suggests, gives you the second (cheaper) figure for half price. Nice!
http://www.toysrus.co.uk/index.jsf?fh_eds=%EF%BF%BD&fh_location=//trus/en_GB/categories%3C%7Btrus_trus%7D/itemtype=product/promotionname=4683&fh_start_index=0&fh_view_size=10
Now if that Evolution 2-pack was on the shelves, what a steal that would be!!

Looking at my lists, so far we have 3 for Deluxe, and 3 for Voyager:
Deluxe
Wave 1
High Octane Bumblebee
Crosshairs
Dinobot Slug
Scorn
Wave 2
Autobot Drift
Strafe
Dinobot Slash
Wave 2.5
Lockdown
Wave 3
Snarl
Bumblebee
Hot Shot (repaint of Crosshairs)
Voyager
Wave 1
Evasion Mode Optimus Prime
Grimlock
Wave 2
Galvatron
Autobot Hound
Wave 3
Dinobot Slog
Autobot Drift (retool of Dark of the Moon Skyhammer)
Don't expect anything spectacular beyond them.
