so sad the figure doesnt have any accesories at all
and being exclusive it is not worth it
and exclusive of a limited japanese figurE(DOTM QUE)
-_- yeah, that sucks

A G1 decoed Wheeljack is always a winner in my book. Shame it has no accessories like Darkside Soundwave, but nothing some repros or borrowed weapons can't fix. :)

Wheeljack should have looked like this in DOTM to begin with, instead of being a weird Einstein/Doc Brown/Q knockoff. The only problem is that he has no face. Where are his eyes?
Re: In-Hand Images - Takara Tomy Movie Advanced EX Wheeljack (1597357)
Posted by f-primus-unicron on August 7th, 2014 @ 12:33pm CDT
the head is an homage to the g1 toy where he didnt have eyes, but if you look at the artwork there is a visor actually

borrow WHAT weapons? the only ones that really work for him are the ones that come with the original mold QUE, so, buy it(which is already difficult to get and expensive)so ONLY one of the two get the weapons? did i mention those weapons, accesories and mechtech are exclusive to QUE? you of course can use any weapon you want bot none will really work as well as those
and while i love that takara did aoe jolt with his signature weapons
what the hell with darkside soundwave that comes with nothing, ratchet with a beasthunter upscaled legends bumblebee dagger, and starscream with beast hunters upscaled smokescreen axes, they have weapons that dont make any sense but at least they HAD something
god, im so mad at takara right now
-_-

You mean orginal molds form DOTM?
And the AOE guys do come with theirs?
Thats what I understood.

Exactly. I'm guessing TakaraTomy doesn't want any MechTech in the Movie Advanced line.

Perhaps they want to make it "unique".

Sweet Primus! Glass-gas it!

(I need to see Pan's Labyrinth...)

That Wheeljack looks pretty good. Shame about the lack of a weapon (I for one love MechTech, mainly because I love universally-usable weapons- for example, my Animated Arcee is wielding a spare pistol from the Energon Combaticon helicopters) but he does still have his 5mm ports, which means he can have a spare weapon. I think G1 Megatron's chromed rifle...thing would look good with him actually. Shame it's kinda hard to find.

*starts drooling over 5mm post weaponry*

Fellow fan and Seibertron board member, duoduotea, has posted his in hand gallery of the TRU Japan exclusive "Rusty" Optimus Prime, as seen during the farm attack at the beginning of Age Of Extinction. Not only does this version of the Evasion Mode Optimus sport a new deco, he also has a remolded head that features Optimus with his trademark battle mask in place so he's ready to charge into battle!

We've mirrored some of the images below, but you can see the full gallery at this link: Here.

Best Movie accurate Evasion Prime so far.
It doesn't have the black legs and there's a lot of different colours.
Hopefully I'll be able to get this version of him.

Thought this would've looked better than these pix show.. the red spots on hips etc look comical.. which is a pity

I have the standard hasbro version and would've liked he came with a faceplate. It lacks paint detailing especially round the legs but he is a great version of prime and might serve as my generations prime for now

thoroughly recommended toy tho

how nice it must be for japanese fans.. not only do they get the most accurate version thus far, but they also don't need to buy it in a set with two other non aoe toys.. thanks hasbro.. there's nothing i love more than paying an exclusive price for a mold with a paint job that it should've had in the first place, in a set that includes a repaint of a generations figure for a character that wasn'tin the movie, and a repaint of a mediocre figure from the previous movie.. HOW WONDERFUL.

i guess hasbro is just trying to turn people off from buying their products.

wouldn't it have just been easier to throw this version of the mold into the main line and release it world wide?

seriously..

I will definitely be picking this one up or the three pack if I can find him.
I found the Grimlock and Optimus Prime Platinum edition at Kmart - Definitely over priced, but this mold is by far one of my favorites.

You all its pretty obvious Hasbro has "Gimmicks" and "deals" that they do with each of these stores. I am sure TRU paid a good penny to make this an exclusive along with Kmart and others... It gets people to go to their stores and buy vs going to one.

In the end someone is going to buy these... Here in SC everyone seems to be buying all the Deluxes, Voyagers, and Leaders... It can be pretty difficult to find any... Other than some of the double pack Dinbots at TRU.

I'll wait for the Hasbro Platinum Edition since that one attempts movie-accuracy in both modes, whereas this one only attempts it in truck mold (that robot mode deco is a far cry from any of robot mode colors in the movie).

I don't understand the hate people give this figure. "G1" Prime in AOE was complete trash and is accurately represented in this figure. Give it love for its accuracy.

Well, I for one don't "hate" it, but I do want the one that tries for accuracy in both modes instead of this one.

Hasbro's Platinum Edition attempts to make both the robot and vehicle modes movie-accurate:
Image
Image

In this figure's robot mode, all the part that are gunmetal were closer to blue in the movie, while all the tan parts were closer to red, in the movie. So while the colors aren't an exact match, the Platinum Edition at least tries to match its deco's layout with that of the movie model's deco layout.

Whereas the Takara Rusty Ver. just makes Optimus look like a bloodstained albino from head to toe, with its mostly non-contrasting single-color deco.

Well, I'm not really in the market for another Optimus Prime at the moment anyway, but I'd totally buy one of those Takara Primes and do a little bit of repainting and conversion work to make him into a Zombiecon.

So that Optimus Prime Platinum Edition is in the "Breakout Battle" set? I was wondering why he looked so much better than this one.
Anyone know who is going to be selling the "Breakout Battle?" I ran into the Optimus Prime / Grimlock one at Kmart.

I am guessing too it will be along the same price point $59.99...

Dat Optimus Platinum! :x It's not an MP. Anyone have a picture of the Canadian box to see if there's french on it? I Really, REALLY want to buy this. And I want to buy this in Québec.

As for the Takara one, holy shit. He DOES look like bloody roadkill. Hell, he'll be more at home in Silent Hill as one nightmarish and gory meat-monster!
Re: In-Hand Images - Takara Tomy Movie Advanced EX Wheeljack (1597862)
Posted by User897 on August 8th, 2014 @ 10:58pm CDT
Wow. At first I was 100% convinced that Takara was the way to go. Not anymore. However, I'll be damned if I'm going to pay Hasbro for a bunch of bots I don't want to get the domestic version, which I noticed does not have his battle mask on. So, there are physically no changes and it's part of a multipack. No thanks. Takara's is almost cool, but not for $65. Looks like I'm sticking with the regular G1 homage only. Oh well. If two companies can't get this guy right, then fuggit.
Re: In-Hand Images - Takara Tomy Movie Advanced EX Wheeljack (1597878)
Posted by Sabrblade on August 8th, 2014 @ 11:39pm CDT
I actually prefer Hasbro's not having a faceplate over Takara's having one, since Optimus's mouth was very much exposed for the majority of all his scenes in the movie during which he had this body.

I'll take a mouthplate on a more polished version like the Autobots United 5-pack version, but leave the dirtied version mouthplate-less.

Have a shoop that I made just to show how awesome it would look:

Thanks to Photobucket user MASABON1980 we get some in-hand images of the Transformers 4 Lost Age of Extinction Advanced Series G1 Grimlock. This is Takara's take on G1 Grimlock from the AOE Voyager mold and has some differences from the Hasbro SDCC G1 Colored Grimlock. For one thing it doesn't have a chrome head. Which do you prefer? Let us know in the Seibertron.com forums.
