It just says "Transformers: Siege" and "Nemesis Prime" in Katakana.william-james88 wrote: and the packaging looks the same as any other Siege packaging, though there is some Japanese writing.

I saw precisely one Rung, but no Rumble/Bat set, and those were the only ones from the last wave that I wanted. C'est la vie; I'm still hesitating on biting the bullet and paying inflated secondary-market prices for Titans Return Misfire and Twin Twist.

I scooped up Rung the minute I saw him simply because I wasn't sure how long he'd last in the wild and so far it seems I didn't need to be so jumpy. And oof, you picked two of the finer TR Deluxe's my friend Which may be why they are still inflated. I wont discourage anyone from getting tho, if youre a Wreckers fan its pretty the definitive Twintwist. And if you like eye scorching 80's colors you cant go wrong with Misfire (Or any of the three updated Targetmasters really)

The premium for having to buy pteraxadon is no different than the premium people have been paying for Rung alone.

For Americans only.
Because even if they can ship to Canada, the exchange rate is atrocious right now and the overall cost will be around a freaking leader class figure if you factor in shipping (and maybe custom fees because why not).

I dunno if anyone's shared this before, but I believe I've found why Apeface's shield has such a long peg: So that it fits into the 5mm ports in his elbows. This puts it at the same elevation the G1 toy's would be when used as an arm shield, and brings it a lot closer to the arm.
As far as removing it without straining the peg.. Gentle wiggling is probably a good idea. I think there's also something to be said for popping it out from beneath by jacking up the wings.

How about you guys, which black redeco of Prime (doesn't have to be Nemesis Prime per se) do you like best so far?
Posted by Sabrblade on March 28th, 2020 @ 10:42pm CDT
As in, like, this is Nemesis Prime in his early days before he makes a name for himself or gets any upgrades, his sword merely being the first step on his journey to being more than just "evil Optimus in black and teal". In this form, he is still so ordinary because he is just beginning his life of villainy.

Oh yeah, the Mammoth version, now that's a Nemesis that's fully formed (going by Sabr's fun Nemesis timeline of murder). He has blood on his tusks!

Well, at least I got the picture right. That's the one I like with the accessory I like. There'll have to be another that does the job really nicely to displace him. Although I'm tempted to buy his US counterpart since I accidentally bought the 3rd party trailer that goes with him.

That one remains a favourite since he's so different. While I love the black and teal colours we have going on most of these the Mammoth version is just very different with the primary colour being beige. With the blood coasted tusks to his Dead Matrix that guy brings a lot to the table. And he remains a very articulated figure even after all this time.

Pedantics are not needed:

I own only two, the original CR Black Convoy (gotta have the ) and RiD 2001 Spychanger Scourge, but would like to own more. Not just any, the ones that "stick out" if you catch my drift, something the Siege one doesn't do. Like these:

I would love to have that Siege Nemesis Prime, and I'll probably pay a ridiculous price for him on eBay. But for now, I will have to settle for my KO black SS-38 Optimus Prime as a stand-in.

The latter is of course one of the most desired of all. Being a show character does that.
@william-james88 re: most Generations Optimus Primes getting black repaints, it's interesting to see how history repeats. Specifically, with Powermaster Optimus Prime getting a black repaint that's just himself rather than an evil knockoff.
I am enjoying Apeface. I posted some of my thoughts earlier.

The height differences between Siege Optimus Prime and Nemesis Prime give for an imposing image, like this isn't just a guy who copies Optimus look but he does it in way where he's bigger and badder then him, for me he's going to be Nemesis Prime on steroids.
Reading this is funny for me comparing it to my head canon universe version of Nemesis.Sabrblade wrote:As in, like, this is Nemesis Prime in his early days before he makes a name for himself or gets any upgrades, his sword merely being the first step on his journey to being more than just "evil Optimus in black and teal". Nemesis Prime, before the war he had a long career upon the Prime Council although back then he was Nominus Prime who was a pioneer for many advancements made to Cybertronian society, his achievements gave way for being labeled with the designation "The Grand Scourge" which was a title only given to the highest among the Scourge Barons which was already a title hard to come by and only given to those of royalty with remarkable accomplishments, his achievements were so great that when Optimus was knighted among the Primes his upgrades were designed based upon the base frame of Nominus.
Despite all the good he did Nominus was only in it for his own pride which pushed him to overcome "impossible tasks" and once he built up Cybertron to the highest high's he thought possible...he made it his next goal to bring it all down, after a mutiny which brought upon his renaming he alone covertly set up the start of a chain of events that would partially lead to Cybertron's downfall although his plan was complete annihilation of his species his plans were thwarted when the Decepticon movement gained traction, Nemesis did not join the Decepticons initially but instead operated as a rogue berserker who slew anyone he came upon becoming infamous as a powerful warrior who could not be taken down, after a fated encounter with Optimus which left him near death he formulated an obsession to the bright beacon of the Autobots, his new goal was to break Optimus by becoming everything he was but twisting it to his own vision before tearing down everything that Optimus valued, he sought out Megatron forcefully by literally slaughtering his way into Decepticon Command and threatening the leader for a place among his ranks, so Nemesis Prime was allowed to join the Decepticons but was placed in the low ranks, this was something Nemesis relished as he was allowed to work his way up the ranks once again in the new Cybertronian society.
TLDR: Nemesis was once named Nominus and was the basis for Optimus Prime's design and not the other way around, he goes crazy and wants to become the antithesis of Optimus Prime and his ideals.

ZeroWolf wrote:I quite like the way IDW did it with Nova Prime becoming that universes Nemesis Prime when he fell into the Dead Universe... Till they dropped the moniker faster then a piece of rubbish. In fact Nova lost a lot of standing as a villain after that, playing second fiddle to more important characters like Galvaltron. I'd personally though, stick Nemesis Prime in with the forces of Unicron, like Universe Nemesis Prime. The thought of Unicron having a dark mirror image of one of Primus's iconic defenders,os quite appealing.
Yeah I liked Nova Prime as a concept rather then the execution (I liked his cameo/lore in that semi-recent game) where he's portrayed as more heroic before becoming corrupted by Unicron, not to mention his design is wicked, tis a shame the best I can do for him in my collection is being the Combiner Wars Battle Core Optimus which is a great figure on his own as a base for my more heroic Nova Prime just don't have the epic wings or black colors.
Nemesis Prime with my sort of backstory could still work as a Unicron aligned character reminds me of all the Unicron lore I've made up as well, I just prefer Nemesis Prime being a character with at least some origin and personality before ending up in a position like that, don't care much for the drone like Nemesis Primes with nothing to them, what I have in mind is just a pure intelligent psychopath sort of barbarian-like.

Good to see that you're building your own cannon up to suit your collection. It's a great writing exercise, hope you're writing it all down. It could inspire a great many fanfiction, that could open further doors. I know a lad that started out that way and then moved on to publishing his own work.

Robot Mode:
He looks burly and muscular without being quite the squat block that the G1 toy was, and I like how the limbs are have been consolidated compared to the original. The colors work well together, and the articulation is good. The long peg on the Electro Shield allows it to be mounted in the 5mm ports on his elbows, giving it a G1 positioning. The Sonic Boom Rifle isn't a perfect replica of the G1 accessory, but it's obviously modeled off it.
Gorilla Mode:
Getting him into this mode is a bit fiddly, but the result looks quite good and has lovely articulation. The limb consolidation pays off here, too. The head can position better than on the original Apeface, so that's a plus. Speaking of the head, the way they adapted the Horrorcons' triple-changing head gimmick here is brilliant, very well done. I also like that unlike the G1 Apeface toy, there's a dedicated place to mount the gun.
Jet/Starfighter Mode:
Not as sleek forward of the wings as the original toy, sadly, but the back is tidier and as a whole it still looks good. It's a bit fiddly to get him into it, as with gorilla mode, but the result is nice. There is again a dedicated mounting hole for the gun, although it is rather loose out-of-the-box; had to use the old superglue trick. It was almost as bad as Legends Super Ginrai's fists. Perhaps the biggest difficulty is with how the shield covers the rear cockpit (where Spasma is intended to sit). Extracting the long peg from the hole without stressing it has given people trouble, from what I hear. I covered this before, but I've had good luck with grabbing the shield by the fins and gently wiggling it upwards... as well as with lifting the shield from below by jacking the wings up. Regarding the cockpit, it's tight. Mine had some mold flash I had to shave off before Spasma would fit properly.

I tend to use a spudger to lift the shield out. Works really well. How's the gun's fit when you peg it into the jet nosecone? Mine's such a loose connection that it just falls out immediately

Oh for sure the Nemesis title can work for a character that doesn't look like a carbon copy Optimus Prime, I just try to mix up the known names that evil, black Optimus characters tend to have since I try to treat most different takes of characters to be one character such as Energon Ironhide being G1 Ironhide when he was younger, Universe Nemesis was pretty rad and he rocks the mammoth look, actually looks like it would fit my backstory for him.
Yeah I just make up my own universe mostly because I know my collection will never perfectly replicate any existing universe and such since toys tend to come off as different looking then on screen/page portrayals, so if I don't care about stuff like that then my enjoyment of the figures is unaffected by nitpicks like that.
