Below you can see some new images of Transformers Generations Selects Deep Cover. We can see that this is indeed the Siege Sideswipe mold in nice Deep Cover colours. We also see without a doubt that this is a selects release. So he won't be exclusive and will eventually be found on online collectible sites, like previous Selects releases were. The images come from Twitter where there were some interesting words used to describe the deco, I'll let you click the link: https://twitter.com/Cheetimus/status/13 ... 2433802241

What do you think of the deco, will you be getting this one?

That is a very nice looking figure. I'll definitely be picking him up when I can. I hope we get Clampdown, too!

Or it could be a reversal of the MP situation, where we got an MP Clampdown and still don't have an MP Deep Cover.

I may be the odd guy out here, and it may be strange for me to say given that overall I did not like the show or a lot of the toy line, but There's a certain Armada Autobot turned RAMPAGEy Decepticon Jacker of Wheels I would like to see released from this mold.

Just confirming. Clampdown would the the only redeco left if we are looking at all the released redecos of G1 sideswipe correct?

No, we ran through that list yesterday. Clampdown is needed, but so is the yellow and blue G2 Sideswipe deco. And then you get more if you go to other uses of the car as an alt or SG it up, which would not only provide room for SG Sideswipe but also Armada Wheeljack

He was asking specifically about released uses of the G1 Sideswipe mold, and that G2 blue and yellow prototype was never released.

I still count it because G2 Sandstorm has happened, so that G2 deco might still happen too

I really hate to be the Debbie downer here, but man it gets to a point where they’ve just done this mold to death. And that’s coming from someone who actually adores this sideswipe mold. For me, enough is enough. But for those who are excited by this, good for you. I hope you enjoy this guy.

I saw that list but the talk drifted away from what I am actually talking about.

I am just asking for redecos of the original g1 sideswipe toy that were released.

So I ask again: Is clampdown the only one left?

Released? Yes, he is it.

1 more if you include unreleased G2 yellow fade to blue. Which to me is viable, see G2 Sandstorm

Yes, unless you count New Year's Lambor and Alert as different decos, or just the same deco with slightly different stickers.

1 more possibility for a released G1 sideswipe mold is G2 Sideswipe. This would be dependent on whether you view the Covert Clone version of Sideswipe from the Amazon exclusive set as a proper G2 Sideswipe or not. I don't not without some neon green headlights and accents.

Hasbro does, and that's what counts.

But do they? Honest question on my part. Both G2 versions of Megs and Sandstorm were all called G2 in the product names. Sideswipe was called "Covert Clone" for whatever reason, and was missing some of the more unique G2 deco details. Recall the same set gave us a good enough Pinpointer in Trenchfoot that everyone assumed was Pinpointer. Then they actually gave us a Pinpointer.

I was talking about the deco, not the character, and Hasbro may consider it already done... on that mold. Had we gotten an Earthrise Sideswipe mold with spoiler, then maybe. :)

If we do get Armada Wheeljack, I hope it's a mix of the Siege Sideswipe mold, and the Gigawatt version, just to try and keep the gull wing doors Wheeljack had there

...I didn't mention it because I wasn't aware it was a thing, but seeing it now, isn't that basically just Tigertrack with an extra color? The other G2 Selects/exclusives they've done have significantly different decos from the other releases of the molds, I dunno that they would go for that repaint when they just did Tigertrack.

I could just buy multiple copies of Scourge to have the Sweeps to go along with Scourge proper, but it would be nice if they could be differentiated with an altered head sculpt or coloring.

For Scourge, after seeing some more pics and deciding I really want him, I was thinking of looking on ebay for some TR or other, older Scourges to be his Sweeps but a Gen Selects repaint would be cool too.
Pretty sure there's a rumor already of Sweeps and Junkions being released in either SS86 or Selects to go with Scourge and the Wreck-Gar that's been rumored/leaked, which would also explain why Hasbro decided to shortpack Scourge of all characters.

They did Hotlink after Skywarp.
And Exhaust after Wheeljack.

both are really close color matches, but still happened

...yeah, but they technically only match those other characters that much because Hasbro made specific choices with their decos that aren't exactly "accurate" and made them more comparable (Exhaust is missing his blue, Hotlink usually has waaaaay less black), and those two are at least still separate characters, so they exist for a reason. This would just be Sideswipe for the...4th(?) time, except now he also looks exactly like Tigertrack (who JUST came out a few months ago) to reference a figure that never got released that maybe 3% of the customer base actually knows about. It would be the equivalent to Hasbro waiting for the Netflix Nemesis Prime to come out, and then 2 months later releasing another Nemesis-colored version of that exact Optimus mold, but with 2 additional paint apps and labeled as Optimus instead of Nemesis because of some obscure comic where Optimus went undercover or something. The only people that would buy it would be the people who missed out on the actual Nemesis or people buying gifts for someone else, and even that would depend on if Nemesis Optimus was more widely available than Nemesis was (which, in the case of Tigertrack versus Sunset Sideswipe, would be a moot point since they'd both be Selects and those who couldn't get Tigertrack because of it also wouldn't be able to get the Sideswipe).

...that was way more words than I intended to write, whoops.

But this is also selects, obscure is supposed to be the name of the game.

Plus, they may be trying to make the Lambros the "seekers" of the autobots instead of the datsuns.

I seriously would not put it past them to do this deco. They seem to be dipping into obscure/unreleased G2 stuff and diaclone with this line, I won't rule it out.

I was thinking just this same thought a couple of days ago looking at all my Sideswipe and redeco cars. I got the Cordon and Spin-Out 2 pack coming this tomorrow or Saturday, depending on FedEx delivering it themselves or passing it to the Post Office. I'd easily buy a couple more Sideswipe and Sunstreaker mold figures. It is fun to transform and looks good in alt-mode. Same with the ER Seeker mold, once I got my hands on it I wanted every other one because it was fun to transform and looks cool in alt-mode. Hasbro did good with these molds, and with Gigawatt we've seen Hasbro can change up the Sideswipe design like they have changed up the seeker design for the coneheads.

Moving past this, if Siege molds are still on the table for Selects even though we're in Kingdom now, how have we STILL not gotten Detritus yet?

Have we gotten any eHobby-original characters that aren't based on a Diaclone or Microman release? Like Sunstorm?

In Selects? Bugbite, technically, since eHobby was responsible for the set that made him and those other Gobot characters canon Transformers characters. I almost said Deep Cover until I checked TFWIki, pre-G1 is not one of my areas of expertise since G1 itself barely is.

Outside of Selects, Sunstorm has received multiple figures since their eHobby origins, including a Masterpiece, so I fail to see why him and/or Detritus being eHobby exclusives originally matters, unless there's some legal nonsense or something that I don't know about.

I like the colors on this mold and I wasn’t fond of the “battle damage” on the Siege mold, so even if it is overdone, I’d be interested in getting this version.

I specified "not based on a Diaclone or Microman release". The ones that do like Deep Cover and Tigertrack are taking priority over e-Hobby-original decos it seems (to be fair, Bug Bite's white may have been based on a deteriorated video tape that showed his yellow as white). Given historical significance, I can see why.

I had forgotten how different Perceptor's colors were in the comics, but I'm all for it!

I can't believe it took me this long to think of it, but whenever they get around to making Blaster, there definitely needs to be a version with a comic-accurate head. I've always preferred that look.

Yes! And a blue Perceptor.

I had forgotten how different Perceptor's colors were in the comics, but I'm all for it!

I can't believe it took me this long to think of it, but whenever they get around to making Blaster, there definitely needs to be a version with a comic-accurate head. I've always preferred that look.
Which one? There are 2 different versions in the comics.
The only one that matters:

Exactly. I'd be fine with a G1 toy-based head too, as they're pretty much the same. As long as it has the visor.

There's actually a blue-and-white Prowl on the shelves right now. ;)

But wait, there is another, and most of us could find him at a local Walgreens taunting us while we were looking for ER Bluestreak (or Siege Ratchet for that matter, he's been a round a while).

Image

Not a great figure, doesn't scale with anything, but he's fun desk toy.

His head sculpt is awesome, though.

So is Evergreen Prowl blue and white then? As both the authentics and Cyberverse lines were supposed to be based off those designs aren't they?

Good question. Looking up all the known evergreen designs, Prowl isn't shown among them. :-?

Though, only half of Cyberverse Prowl's toy releases are white and blue. The other half are white and black.

That just muddies the waters further.

Forget orange, blue is the new black, ever since the G1 Marvel comics.

Prowl doesn't have an evergreen design that we've seen outside of Cyberverse. And the cyberbattalion toy pictured above predates the authentics line. The other Cyberbattalion figures dont resemble their evergreen designs that much. But maybe Cy reverse used this cyberbattalion design for cues.

Well a big BBTS order came in the other day and along with it my spoiler pack Nemesis Prime! Gosh what a beauty he is. Having bought Earthrise Prime several months ago (and being the most satisfied with a purchase ive ever been in recent memory) so this was my first experience with the Siege mold. Honestly the ER one is a big improvement, it truly is the perfect modern update to a G1 OP. That being said, i think the Siege version really works for NP, the cyber-stylized vehicle lends itself well to the evil shadow version idea. Heck, even his gaping internal chest cube void fits with this motif  Having a bunch of really neat accessories is fun too, cant complain about that. Sadly there isnt anywhere to keep them outside of gearing up the robot mode, unless youre chill with just tossing them all in the trailer

All in all i am happy to have bought the pack for around 60 bucks rather then almost 90 or more for the takara mall one from last spring, this is a better value for sure just at the cost of a little less teal HaHa

Here ya go:

The blasters do fit up top (barely and kinda half-assed, but they do).

But even better is if you use his Blaster and Fangtron as a trailer hitch. Then you can side mount the blasters with swords up top.

Or you can give them to G1 Powermaster Prime, if you have one and he's missing his shoulder guns. Or maybe give them to PoTP leader Prime to complete the truck mode.

I do (well, the 2003 reissue) and, after reading this suggestion of yours, I tested it out and am sad to report that Nemesis's double-barreled cannons cannot attach to G1 PM Prime's upper arms. The cannons' pegs are too short to grip the arm holes.
