When the voyagers for wave 3 of the Netflix Transformers line were first shown, lot of fans (including myself) were wondering what was so different with the Optimus Primal / Rattrap release. Well, now that we have some comparison images we can see all the differences. The colours on Primal and Rattrap are a lot more vibrant and full. You'll let us know what you think. These images come from the Blacklai Toybase blog. There is a gallery for Primal and a gallery for the Sparkless Seeker. We now get a really good look at his targetmasters.

Man, I really hate what they did with Skyquake's face (I don't remember that being in the previous images). Almost ruins the whole figure for me.

I actually like the face
They gave him like a joker scar

Eh, I already have Kingdom Primal and Rattrap and honestly the redeco isn’t really striking enough for me to double-dip.

So Primal is slightly darker, but with some white on his robo chest where the original had blue. Meh, I'm fine with my purchase of the original.

What's up with that seeker's mouth? Is that intentional, since he's a "zombie"?

I had to go back and look at what you meant since I missed it the first time. Quite clever since technically this bot is dead in the cartoon.

Anyone headcannoning him into some one else can pretend it's a battle scar

Greetings Seibertronians! With Wave 3 of the Netflix Transformers War for Cybertron line now trickling out to stores across the world, fellow Seibertron user, and YouTube toy reviewer, PrimeVsPrime, has uploaded an unboxing, and video review of the 3rd, and potentially last, Spoiler Pack.

Inside Spoiler Pack #3 you'll find a redeco of Siege Megatron (largely looking unchanged from the Voyager set released as part of Wave 1 of this line last year) and a translucent purple Fossilizer Paleotrex redeco (called Skelivore). Accessories wise, you get a Matrix and four straps so Megatron can wear it, and a small D20 looking AllSpark.

You also get some black playdoh like the first set.

There's also text within the box that hints at spoilers within the third part of the Netflix Transformers War for Cybertron cartoon.

We have embedded PrimeVsPrime video below for you to watch and enjoy:

Special thanks to fellow Seibertron user, Dominus Prime for sending this through to us.

What do you think of this review? Do you just want Skelivore? Or are you after the whole package?

Shout out in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

Eeyup, the Netflix ones are definitely the ones for me.

Never found normal Kingdom Primal, and I've yet to pick up either Cheetor or Rattrap, so I won't have to worry about double-dipping.

Nice comparison shots! Cheetor is the only Netflix release I'll be picking up, though. Rattrap's Kingdom release colors look better to me. The Netflix one is missing his teeth and gives him a cocaine nose to boot. The fur also looks too dark, and all the silver paint apps are also too dark, being more gunmetal instead. With Optimus Primal, it's another give and take situation, like with the alternations to Cheetor's deco between Kingdom and Netflix, i.e., the metallic blue and deeper yellow look better on the Netflix version, but it's missing the paint apps on his legs. For Optimus Primal, the Netflix version gives him gray feet in robot mode, and some nice fine paintwork on the hands, but it gets the robot mode chest color wrong, turning the Kingdom light blue to white. The slightly different shades of blue, white, and red aren't of much consequence, but I much prefer the pure white of the Kingdom version to the off white of the Netflix version. The Kingdom version's red and blue also look brighter to my eyes. Strangely enough, the colors on Optimus Primal's beast mode chest don't match on the Netflix version! You can see that the outsides of his pectorals are a completely different color of gray compared to the hands and face. There's a slight difference too with the Kingdom version, but the contrast is much more subtle. For me, Kingdom has the better Optimus Primal and Rattrap, but neither release gets everything "right." I hope we get another shot at these molds in a few years with some "premium" show-accurate paint jobs.

The changes are some of the most minimal I've ever seen. This will be one of those releases, many years from now, that only the most hardcore of fans will be able to notice the difference. 99% of people won't. I'm still saddened that Primal didn't come with 2 Battle Masters, it would have been a nice excuse to get it, but alas, my collection will have none. Neither the Kingdom Primal or this Netflix Voyager offer anything I need for my collection.

I think I like Netflix Primal slightly more, but not enough seek him out over the regular deco. I definitely prefer the normal Rattrap though, the Netflix one looks too dark, and the unchanged orange clashes with the darker gray.

Autobot N wrote:Man, I really hate what they did with Skyquake's face (I don't remember that being in the previous images). Almost ruins the whole figure for me.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure those lines one the side of the mouth are sculpted into both facesculpts. How prominent they appear can vary from copy to copy depending on how well the face is painted. Sometimes it's super obvious like this, or sometimes it's not even noticeable, like on my copy of Thundercracker.

So basically, if you find him in store you'll probably be able to pick one with better face paint. It's what I did with TC and Hotlink.

Yeah, like having those hip ball joints be red instead of blue. That would have really helped this Netflix release.

That makes it really dissapointing that the Netflix version chooses not to highlight the abdominal outline then. Also, I am 100% certain that there was a mixup/mistake where Hasbro inverted the colour codes for that chest circle when they sent in the paint specifications to the vietnamese factory. And it was too minor to warrant halting production.

I really don't think this particular release was made for anyone who already had these toys. Pretty sure it's just to make sure these characters are on shelves when the Netflix show is released. Hence why the deco differences are minor.

Pretty sure it's blue, but reflective, so it looks lighter in bright settings (both of your pics have light shining directly on it).

In any case, it's definitely darker than the Netflix toy. That looks silver or white.

Takara's stance over the past 7 years has been that light blue is the correct screen-accurate color for Optimus Primal's robot chest.

Wish they sold Skelivore on his own. Don’t have a Megatron, but not really interested in him, especially with the battle damage.

I do find it interesting that with the NF BW bots, they seem to be erring in favor of a cohesive beast mode, especially with missing out on Cheetor’s blue paint.

Yeah, it's pretty dumb to buy the same toy over and over just for having a different paint job. [-(

Decepticon still looks good. I was unsure about the cthru bits being solid colors especially for tetrajet mode but it still looks fine. The face is a bit weird with the mouth but at least its going to look different next to the others.

Primals still a pass, happy with the MP but if they do a burning wfc version I'm in

One of the larger Walmart stores in my area had this tiny little display today, my fist sighting of wave 3. Basically it was 16 toys (only one of which was missing/purchased). i didn't take the time to examine all the contents. I would think if there are only 4 toys, and each case contains 8 it would be a simple 2x4 scenario, but I'm not sure if that is the case.
Re: In Hand Images of Netflix Wave 3 Voyagers with Comparisons (2100419)

I went to three Walmarts this morning. The first had the Netflix Wave 2 and 3 Deluxes (minus Bumblebee). They had only one Cheetor among several Sparkless Bots, Deseeus Army Drones, and Deep Covers, so I grabbed him.

The second Walmart was practically empty. Not even a Cyberverse toy to be found. Just one SS86 Kup and an opened SS86 Jazz.

The third Walmart had the Wave 2 Kingdom Deluxes, so I got Airazor and Ractonite.

Netflix Takara Nemesis Prime WFC 16 was what I got when I'd ordered WFC-11 Takara Prime. The box isnt odd shaped like the spoiler pack but still an expensive mistake for the retailer to make when they were charging £70 compared to £40.

*I've let them know anyways, probably could have kept the cool snake dude and sold the figure on to buy Prime locally. Idiocy or too honest, unsure which :P

Wrong Nemesis. WFC-16 is still the Hasbro Spoiler version, Takara Tomy just packages them differently.

Japan doesn't have Walmart, instead they're general retail. Whatever difference it makes I don't know, Transformers has a lot of competition from other mecha lines.

Yeagh Japan's sometimes odd and great for exclusives in retail shops, otherwise I'd have probably never have got my potp Throne monkey (for about £35). I think green Unicron was about £80 at some bic stores but way too much to see and do over there on top of buying cool stuff.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that was only a Hasbro thing. TT doesn't often do silly gimmicks (notice I said OFTEN....)

In other news...I did see a couple more Voyager Prime's today, which means Voyager Soundwaves were yet again missed. I am so glad I'm not wanting this toy, just trying to spot one n the wild is all ;) .

I saw two Netflix Optimus on clearance at Walmart for 45$CAN. The same two are on the same shelf in the same position since last Thursday. I was tempted to get one to sit on but with the amount of ER Optimusses out there, it would be money wasted.

EDIT: The same two are still there. Still the same price.... Wow.

Greetings Seibertronians! YouTube reviewer and fellow Seibertronian PrimeVsPrime has uploaded a video review of the upcoming Netflix voyager release of Optimus Primal and Rattrap! These figures are due to be released in wave 3 of the Walmart-exclusive Netflix subline later this year.

Both figures in this two-pack are redecos of their regular Kingdom releases in slightly different colors, mostly featuring a darker color palette. Neither deco is truly any more accurate to their original appearances in the Beast Wars cartoon, so their color schemes are likely depicting what they will look like in the upcoming Kingdom portion of Netflix's War for Cybertron Trilogy.

You can view PrimeVsPrime's video review embedded below:

What do you think of these redecos? Do you think they look better that the Kingdom releases? Will you be picking this up? Let us know in the Energon Pub forums!

I don't have them, and these aren't different enough for me to want them either. These are the most minimal changes to a release i can recall in recent memory. These could just be considered a running change of the toys colors and very few would notice if they were in the traditional Kingdom packaging.

Cheetor??

If The idea is to have toys that represent the line on the shelves when the show comes out, they are failing miserably. The show comes out in the end of July. You have more-or-less 2 Cheetors on the shelves at the same time (I know we had 3 Megaton's previously... :HEADHURTS: ). 2 other characters were from previous entries in the animated series, and I seriously doubt Deep Cover will be in Kingdom...

If any of these deluxes have any appeal, I guess it would be Cheetor. I posted the pic of the small endcap display a couple weeks ago at a local walmart, there were 4 of each deluxe, I passed on them all. I'll be getting the Seeker merely for the BM's, and Megatron just for Skelivore (and hoping to sell Megatron). Wave 3 is by far the weakest of all the Netflix waves. Aside from hardcore completionists, it really doesn't offer much of anything.

So I just transformed Sparkless Bot, A.K.A Rusty. Not only is the paint stellar (except the rear of the vehicle but eh, tradition), he feel absolutely fantastic in hand. This thing is a work of art. No regrets spending the big bucks importing him.

I think green Unicron was about £80 at some bic stores but way too much to see and do over there on top of buying cool stuff.

Did Takara include the... black and smelly toxic waste in the box?

It smells? Had no idea Hasbro made you go excavating for pieces until I saw some of the Netflix reviews.

Still on the fence about Cheetos since I like the darker blue, but not the lack of paint apps elsewhere. And since I already own normal Prime, I’ll skip out on the latest set.

Bleh. Netflix Primal just does not appeal to me. Too dark, and the gorilla chest panel color not matching the sides of the chest would drive me nuts. Happy with my retail release.

In other Netflix figure news, the Wal-Mart near my house had three Cheetors...and nothing else, LOL. I would have expected it to be the reverse, like the above pics, so no idea what happened there. All I wanted was the Cheetor, though, so I was fine with it.

Waiting on my Dinobot to arrive from Pulse and I'm done with the original five (I'm just sticking with Generations Rhinox and Rattrap, they look great with the other Kingdom figures). Still need to find an Airrazor, and likely a Tigatron whenever he comes out.

Still need some more Predacons for this line. Megatron is AMAZING, and Blackarachnia is pretty good, but I'm surprised the only other one they've officially announced is Scorponok. That's over half of the S1 Preds with nothing official on the horizon. I'm filling the gap a little with my Generations Waspinator, but throw us a bone here, guys! :BANG_HEAD:
