Power of the Primes wave 2 Voyagers Elita-1 and Hun-Gurr have popped up at US Walmarts. This means we can finally have a good look at the finished figures. Dorfsquest picked up Hun-Gurr and posted in-hand images, along with his thoughts on the figure, on the TFW2005 boards and we have included all that he has posted below.

This is our first look at Abominus' torso and combiner head sculpt (aside from artwork). Unlike the original G1 toy, the combiner chest plate is not an independent piece but instead already part of the toy and it can be seen all across the robot mode's back.

Here is what Dorfsquest had to say about the figure:
Hun-grrr is a pretty solid figure though he isn’t without flaws... his fists in robot mode don’t really peg into place in a solid way, and his legs are hollow from behind, which I hate. Also, the decals applied to his outer thighs appear to cover some plastic details.
Positives - His two-headed dragon mode looks pretty good, and the torso mode snaps together very solidly. Overall I say he is worth picking up.

The pictures are below, let us know what you think of the toy and if you will be picking it up. We are currently looking for in hand images of Elita-1 and will be posting them once we find them.

Why has that Terrorcon got a (faux?) rubsign? Also, I'm probably going to repaint and/or swap parts from Hotspot to make Fire Chief ( http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Fire_Chief ).

I wish Hasbro would make a mainstream release of Medix and re-release Alpha Bravo, Rook, Streetwise (as Streetstar) and make versions of the extra Protectobots (red jet, yellow drill tank, etc) so that we could use them to make different versions of Defensor and Guard City respectively.

Its (and those of The Headmasters and Masterforce as well) most infamous broadcast release outside of Japan was its Malaysian release where it was dubbed into English very badly by Omni Productions.

I think what we could do two months ago, was speculate and assume that Blast-off would come with Megatronus and that he would be clear plastic. Which is not what news articles are really for, to my knowledge.

Anyways that Hun-Gurr man. He's not half bad, which is about 50% better than I'd been fearing based on we'd seen before. Interesting that his torso mode appears to be basically a backwards Silverbolt-type torso; clever way to share the engineering without making that mode "just" a reshell.

Elita-1 is gonna be the main attraction here for me, though. From that one blurry image of her in a box, she actually looks really good! Keeping eyes peeled for more :D

And there you have it. Wave 2 is out in the US and I've yet to see Wave 1. Southern parts of Australia have seen Wave 1, but I haven't seen any locally. Just good ol K-Mart desperately trying to clear out TLK and TR stuff. :(

In a way it was to be expected, I suppose. It's not like I'm really one to talk since I've got most of what I want from Wave 1 already, but the pain of waiting for the Deluxes to show up somewhere that doesn't charge $35 means I can at least sympathise a little bit. In the end it's only a matter of time, but time is most of the most frustrating matters there is...

It’s tripe. I’m sorry if anyone enjoys it but I can’t get into it. I have the shout! Factory collection and I’ve tried a dozen times to trudge through it and I just can’t. This series is 44 episodes and 11 of them are recap/clip show episodes. That’s a quarter of the series!

The expectations of the takar trilogy is bigger than it really is...headmasters is fine. SGMF is just an anime and god I hate anime.

Anyone would think it was "Whinging of the Poms", rather than "Power of the Primes" seeing you moaning.

Here, try these sites:

"Robotoyz is an Australian online store specialising in various pop culture collectables and merchandise such as Star Wars, Hasbro Transformers, Takara Transformers, Japanese imports and 3rd party products."

- https://www.mightyape.com.au/brands/tra ... s/toys/all

"Mighty Ape has been in business for over 20 years and has established itself as Australasia's largest Entertainment and Pop Culture store...We're based in New Zealand with customer support staff in Australia and daily flights across the Tasman via Australia Post and DHL Express...and offer delivery within 1-2 business days to most Australia metro areas via DHL..."

As always, there is this site/s for you colonials:

Robotoyz don't got nothin' PotP-related so far, and that aside doesn't even seem to have Hasbro toys at all (this is at a glance at least). Mighty Ape has PotP Wave 1 up for preorder due out at the end of March. And both are overcharging horrendously ($55 for a Takara Legends Deluxe? $40 for regular TR Windblade?!).

So if I may speak on Burn's behalf as well, thanks, but no thanks. We'll wait, and we'll complain. And there's nothing you can do about it

Wow, I'm sorry for expressing my disappointment about the lack of PotP figures in my area!

Actually, you know what? I'm not sorry. I don't need someone like you getting up in my face telling me where I can order online, I'm well versed on where to find TF's online.

I'm waiting for them to turn up locally so I can support the local economy.

If you don't like me "moaning" about the lack of PotP figures around my area then here's a tip.

SCROLL ON

And telling me there's "sites for you colonials"? Fuck off mate, I have every right to post here just like you. And referring to me as a "pom" and a "colonial" is bordering on insulting me as I am neither. You're ignorance is clearly on display, I suggest you put it back into storage.

It does seem that, looking at the Google results, Australia seems as ill-served, Transformers-wise, as the Uk was when I lived there. Robotoys is more for non-Hasbro stuff (but it might be useful for other TFs). As for other TFs, how about BBTS and the other usual sites?

Failing that, you could always both get jobs in Japan and come and join the party.

I'm sorry but I don't think Hun-Gur has hollow legs. Those are slots for the hinges to slide into for beast mode, they have to be open. Would a flap make such a difference?

I mean, whether functional or not, they are hollow for sure. And the Silverbolt/Scattershot mold had little flaps that at least pretended like they were helping the issue on those guys, IIRC. Hollow limbs don't bother me as much as they do others, but if it's not impossible to at least make the holes a little less obvious, I sure wouldn't have been opposed.

Hun-grr looks great in robot and torso mode. The dragon mode is alright, if his front legs were a little thicker, it would be better. I think Hasbro knocked one out of the park with this one. Hopefully the limbs will do the torso justice.

That's actually the first time I saw Elita-1, and I'm not impressed. Maybe a closer look will change my mind.

Don't try to soften this, you have jumped to the conclusion that I am of British descent.

That aside, you had the audacity to attack me, and don't sugar coat it, that is EXACTLY what you did, calling my post "whinging" when I was well within my rights as a member of this forum to do so. I am incredibly annoyed at the delay in these figures being released in Australia, and I'm not going to stay silent about it just because someone like YOU doesn't like it.

Well buckle up buckaroo, because I'm going to keep on whinging.

And to suggest I post on OzFormers? Answer me this primalxconvoy, why should I? Are you racist? Are you trying to segregate the Transformers fan community? Do you want fans to only associate with other fans from their "motherlands"?

You've made some incredibly annoying demands on this site over the last few months, but to come out and suggest I should take my "whinging pom" self to another website ... lol. nah mate, that ain't gonna happen. You're stuck with me. Image

To all the US members out there, enjoy the hunt and be sure to take lots of pics and share them!

Correct, we could tell it was most likely included since the colors were different from what we had seen before (the proper gray one), and it made sense to include it to tie in with Power of the Primes. It also looked clear on the package if you look around the edges.

Hotconvoy wrote:The listing for Blastoff also had this
Description
Celebrate the Prime Wars Trilogy with this special edition Combiner Wars Decepticon Blast Off figure. It’s built with updated Combiner Wars molds and decorated in new colors. Plus, it’s the only Transformers figure that includes the clear Megatronus Prime Master figure. During the Prime Wars, Decepticon Blast Off knew he was superior to the Autobots. With the Megatronus Prime Master, the gap between him and other bots has widened. Now he can imbue his laser rifle with a fragment of the power of the Requiem Blaster, the weapon of Megatronus himself. This Deluxe Decepticon Blast Off is a 5.5-inch scale figure and comes with a 1.5-scale Megatronus Prime Master figure. The Decepticon Blast Off figure converts from space jet to robot mode in 15 steps. The Prime Master figure converts between robot and spark in 1 step. Transformers all related characters are trademarks of Hasbro.

I highlighted the interesting part. There isn't any way to connect a Prime Master to any of Blast Off's regular weapons so it seems more and more likely that he comes with a decoy suit. But Requiem Blaster is an interesting nod to the Aligned universe, but probably means it wont use the Bomb-Burst suit since it probably has a claw like Skullgrin. Probably Maybe a Metalhawk repaint? Seems tricky depending on how the molds are shared.

Hun-Gurrr is growing on me, but I'm not a big fan of the fake rubsigns on the Terrorcons.

Sigh, Burn, the stereotypical assumption amongst some of us Brits is that ALL Australians are from the UK originally. I know that REALLy isn't the case. If that makes you feel unhappy, then I apologise.

It wasn't an attack. I honestly have nothing against you. Yes, you DO have every right to complain. Also,I am sure that it would be pretty suicidal for me to attack anyone here at the boards, yet alone one, such as yourself, weilding the banhammer of the Primes.

And to suggest I post on OzFormers? Answer me this primalxconvoy, why should I? Are you racist? Are you trying to segregate the Transformers fan community? Do you want fans to only associate with other fans from their "motherlands"?

It was for you to GET info from, not POST to. They have an "Australian Sightings" thread there that I though might be useful for you to check out POTP availability in Australia. Also, as you are Australian, I am not sure "racist" is the term? Isn't it "nationalist"? Plus, even if I DID want everyone segregated by country, then how would I justify moi being here? I am a Brit in Japan, posting on an (American?) site. I am sure I would be the first to go.

You've made some incredibly annoying demands on this site over the last few months..

What's that got to do with the price of fish, or indeed, this thread?

I very nearly ended up doing that with Starscream when I suddenly had the entire first wave staring me in the face. The thing that kept me from doing so was how teeny-tiny he looked, and I'm very glad for it. Elita-1 on the other hand looks to be ticking a lot of boxes for me, so we'll have to see there.

I did, on the other hand, impulse-get Leader Rodimus despite all the middling reviews, and I... really really like him. No accounting for taste I suppose

That is one figure I do want to get. From what I've seen, it's been hit and miss in the reviews with him. I'm just going with the "well I don't have him for the Neo-G1 collection..."

He'll probably be the one figure that doesn't make it up this way, but we'll see a dozen Starscreams!

Not unless the small gun was dropped, but got left on the back of the box. Hardly the first time things have shown up on the box that didn't come with the figure.

It'll just be strange having him come with a Prime Master he can't interact with in any way. At least the die cast Titan Masters could be used on the figures they came with.

Darn it now I gotta buy him, then I gotta buy the other Terrocons because I hate incomplete teams.

And I thought I was going to be done with collecting with Titans Return over. (Excluding the little Titanmasters because regardless if they don't turn into faces their still the same as the Titanmasters)

Looking at what we can see of Blast off's Silhouette it's clear they are using the Takara mold. I find this a pity for 2 reasons. Firstly I thought when I saw it for UW that it looked a little, naff. I don't know I just didnt like it.
Secondly Steam Shield's Bot Foundry on Shapeways produced 3 add on bits for the Hasbro one: a new head, a new nosecone and a new set of wings plus a little add on to the feet to form boosters, it would've been easy to do that instead I think.

What seems easy to you is to them just an added expense they don't need.

It is funny how we can all read things differently and have different hopes, but to me

Decepticon Blast Off figure. It’s built with updated Combiner Wars molds

It just has a hole in the mold for the hand/foot to plug in.

Will be interesting to see what other characters they use gimmicks for that didn't originally have them after seeing a photoshop pic of an insecticon combiner. They could even do an evolution Bumblebbee to gold bug in the crazy world of toys.

Well without context of why he said this it could like it but Primal's been a little troublesome lately, arguing with moderators and such.

Burn's probably sick of his attitude.

Is it that obvious?

I was trying to be subtle I swear...

But back to the topic of Power of the Primes!

Besides the full on combiner teams such as the Dinobots and Terrocons anybody feel like the other combiner limbs and torsos is just a mess?

Say there's only the 4 waves we have "heard" of there's not really any teams.

For Decepticons we Got Starscream, Blackwing and Dreadwind and that's it. (I guess Blastoff too but he's probably an exclusive and he goes with Bruticus anyways)

Then for Autobots we got Elita-1, Moonracer and Novastar as the fems then we have Inferno and Jazz, even if you added Jazz to the other group it's still not a full combiner and then you leave Inferno by himself.

I really hate having spares, and what even is the point of Jazz and Inferno? Their just space fillers for other characters that could have gone in like say a new Chromia or some other fem to go with Elita's team.

There were spare torsos in CW, too. Cyclonus, Betatron-Scattershot, one of the Optimus Primes (take your pick which). On top of that bear in mind that we (almost?) certainly have another two waves to fill after those before PotP takes its final bow - that's space for up to 8 other Deluxe figures, enough to "finish" all three groups you listed and have one slot left over... not that that's how things will probably shake out, but y'know.

Heck, I'd hesitate to say we even know the contents of Waves 3 and 4 well enough to confidently make statements about which toys we will/won't get in them either. Sure we have the leaks to go off of, but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a curveball or two by the time the finalised waves are released into the wild.

As for the "point" of Jazz and Inferno? a) they sell, with an (albeit slight) leg-up based on half-remembered nostalgia from the names alone; and b) they can fill slots for collectors who haven't got the many-year-old previous versions (which are waaay beyond making Hasbro any kind of money at this point) and/or just want something different and fun. I'm probably going to pick up Jazz sooner or later, and though Inferno isn't totally appealing to me I'm sure he's plenty of people's cup of tea.

(Besides, if you wanna get technical, Chromia has had a much more recent Generations toy than either Jazz or Inferno. So, yeah ;) )

It looks okay, the dragon necks would look better if they weren't so thick but that isn't the big problem here. Why is Hasbro still using stickers. If only Takara could give us a better version...

So, every time I go hunting there is a Jazz, a Starscream, and a Slash and/or Seaspray pegged up. So, I...I...bought Starscream. Admittance is the first step. Jokes aside, not my favorite Transformer in my collection, but not as bad as it could of been. I'm getting all giddy with every new in-hand of the terrorcons. Burn, I've heard, via podcasts and posts, and just over the years, of the difficulty that plagues some places, like Australia, on getting toys in. Overall, I don't see what you said as bad, it's a valid complaint for someone who loves this brand, and is holding out for the reasons you are. I hope your wait pays off soon. Primalxconvoy, if what you were doing was meant to be funny and helpful, when the inappropriate nature of the joke was pointed out, instead of jumping on defense, best response would of been an apology, something like: Sorry, didn't mean to offend you, I was trying to be silly and wasn't sure if you had checked those places I listed yet. Besides which, as an American, I'm here to defend my right to the term "colonial", we stole this country fair and square. (If you can't tell that is in-bad-taste humor) ok, back to PotP again for me after my treatise. I woke my daughter up to show her Hun-grrr, and now she is playing with the small RID TFs I got her when that show first came out. Because she hasn't watched to much of that as compared to G1 I hear, "Me Grimlock no get why dragon so cool. Me Grimlock have one head, one head all you need." I am dying with laughter inside.

Looking forward to wave 2. And I happen to like Starscream. He's fun to fiddle with, and has a certain stylishness to him... He's no where near perfect, but I do look forward to a Thundercracker (and Skywarp) repaint. Mostly Thundercracker.

I mean, I already kind of figured that the Megatronus was an exclusive deco based on the photos before hand.

Technically he's not an exclusive. He's part of Hasbro's semi-annual "May Mayhem" promotion that gave us Brake-Neck, Quickslinger, and Deluxe Groove for Combiner Wars. He won't be sold at mass retail, but he'll be available at most of the important online retailers (BBTS, TFS, HTS, and Amazon among others).

I'm not offended by your well-placed humour and I did offer an apology. No worries! Besides, your theft of my country's God-given land rights has enabled me to reap the benefits of Transformers. Without the USA, we'd have a franchise where all the TFs spoke like Perceptor, Shockwave and Skylynx and would cost too much money and there would be no guns (only truncheons and cutting wit).

PotP Jazz is a great figure. I will vouch for that! If you don't have RtS/United Jazz in your collection, PotP Jazz is the next best thing. Red Hotspot with Inferno's head isn't really doing it for me, though.

F***k I hate the stupid toy accuracy. Why cant we get a purple head with slanted antenna and a white face? The biggest fail of Hasbro chug decos is their assumption that a mold based to resemble the cartoon should be painted like the damn toy to include homage to gang-molded coloring and silly tech decals that look like polka dots. Perfect Effect please fix this guy.

Loving the look of hun grr, especially with the kamina glasses (now he needs a drill with which to pierce the heavens). I have a feeling though that I won't see him thanks to local distribution :-( might be a good thing as my wife may kill me as I would track down all terrorcons
