Thanks a lot! I think he's pretty good, just as good of a fig as Silverbolt is.

My Viper is much better qc wise than Powerglide, he actually holds together during transformation.
Blades is real nice. I like that Alpha Bravo mold, but it is much better as an actual someone, and not some throw away generic helicopter man.

Sometimes I think Silverbolt is so cool it's almost a shame to combine him. Can't wait for Cyclonus. Have fun CS. great haul.
Funky little haul today with a good story.
Jazz was a standard, see-him-grab-him find. Swipe was there, but... maybe see how Takara's paint looks? I dunno.
I never thought once about Tiny Titans, but I looked down and saw Bluestreak on the box. I grabbed a baggy and inspected to find a tiny clear window in the bag. Phhhhh, I'm gonna find Streak. Found him.
IT'S PROWL? Looks like Bluestreak to me.
BTW, these things are crap. Bad sculpts, sloopy paint. And they are tiny. Though, they could fit inside the new Ultra Magnus.
Cliffjumper - I'm excited for these new minis. Walk into Family Dollar and find the toys. Hey, Cliff!
He's on a peg labeled $6.75 and a little Prime BH logo. Take him up front. Scan. Doesn't come up. Gal asks, you remember how much this was? I play nice. She enters 6.75, pauses... looks at me over her classes and says, deadpan, "three dollars".
*shrug* SURE!
Thanks lady!

G2 Spacecase on card for my MOSC collection. The card is not in great condition, but it's fun to have a G2 TF seald on card for a reasonable price.
Next is TCC/Botcon Depthcharge. On card and in baggy, thanks to a fellow Seibertronian. The carded one is so shiny, it's AFFAbl'! It will be for my MOSC collection obviously. The baggy one is to playing with. However, for some random reasons, customs had to hit me hard on that duo.
Last but not least, CW Bombshell, thanks to a tiny TrU sale that brought back this toy at normal scout price, meaning 10$+tx. I really, REALLY like it! It's a fun little toy, with lots of paint aps and it's easy and fun to transform. Highly recommended!

Oh, I own the original Terradive for a while now. In fact, HFTD Terradive and Gen Drift are the ones responsible of breaking the TF dam. At first, my Tf collection was supposed to be limited to every Optimus Prime molds ever. Then, Starscream added himself to the lot. I was randomly shopping at my local Walmart when I saw the Tf deluxes on sale at 10$. So, I took Terradive and Drift just "to have a taste of other characters".
The rest is History.
Oh yeah, I also got Botcon Machine Wars Starscream last year. Yup, the Terradive mold is just PERFECT! The only one missing is DOTM Target Exclusive Space Case. I was hunting for him when I came accross the sealed G2 one, who was ironically almost the same price as a loose DOTM one! I'm yet to complete my Terradive Mold Quatuor with DOTM Spacecase... BTW, I got that G2 mold twice through scrap lots. Both had their weapon-arm missing. I had to give them both an "artificial" limb. It's a very cute and fun mold, big like a small scout or a Cyberverse Commander. I have the G2 "Tiger" colored and a gray Universe one.

The Japanese version has already been announced, and will come with a Deluxe Groove, a TakaraTomy-only mold until further notice. Furthermore, he's a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive so expect some markup.

Thanks for the link, but BBTS? No tanks. Guaranteed customs + US$ conversion just kill any purchases made over there forever.
What I meant is comparison images with Hasbro and Takara for the deco and actual pre-order pages from Amiami and HLJ.

But thats the problem: you cant. It is takaratomymall exclusive in japan and they dont ship internationally. The same as if HTS was the only one with Hasbro's defensor and you couldnt order it from Walmart.ca since HTS wont ship to anywhere but the states (edit).
That's why he is a higher markup then the other combiners at BBTS, they dont have a direct distributor that will sell him to them since Taaratomymall is the only initial distributor of this product (technically) and the only one to sell it at its retail price.

Oh, thanks for the headsup. In that case, it will be Hasbro all the way. I will NOT spend 250$+ on a normal combiner. So, Hasbro, here I come! I also really love Groove as a scout. It calm my inner scale-fanboy. Now, it will be waiting for a sale of some sort and grabbing them in one fell swoop.

Killraven wrote:He's not 250+...He's only 159.99 which is about roughly 30 more than the other Takara combiners. Well worth it for such an exclusive Groove imo. I've never cared about the "scale" argument on any transformers, so he hits all the right places. That being said, the Hasbro combiner will only run you between 100-115 depending on if you can get any on sale.
I'm Canadian. I meant 250$+ in Canadain $. And it will REALLY be that price for me.
Price: 160$US + 17$US shipping. = around 220$CAN.
Customs are out for blood for any BBTS orders so add another 30$CAN minimum.
BAM! 250$CAN+! My guesstimate was right on the money!
That's why I'll be waiting to buy the Hasbro version locally all the way for that one.

Killraven wrote:Holy crap man, I didn't know it was that costly to ship to Canada. That conversion is crazy.
The shipping price by itself is not too bad. The $ conversion hurt a lot because 20-25¢ for a $ mean a lot on pricey orders. Especially when the price difference between Canada and USA isnt that much.
Whowever, the cherry on top of that bullcrap sunday are the unpredictable and bipolar custom fees! Those are unforgiving. They add the 15% of taxes that I dhould avoid, plus they add a 10$ fee on top of that! The craziest thing is the randomness of what get custom raep'd and what is not. BBTS is a sure shot recently. Japanese orders seem to be spared. Some Ebay purchases are A-OK while some purchases made from PRIVATE CITIZEN are not!
Sh!t is crazy and highly frustrating. Especially that damned MP Bee fromm BBTS that cost me 120$ while from Amiami, it would have cost me 70$ at most.

Nice hauls to all frankly!
Just received Brake-Neck (Always WR to me) from Amazon. It's so seemingly insignificant, but I love the plugs on the head sculpt and the slanted, skewed Decepticon badge on the hood.

Killraven wrote:So they play fast and loose w/ customs then? that's sucks they should have a standardized price. that system doesn't make sense at all.
Dude you have no idea. There are even known cases of customs agents dealing with organized crime, it's a very crooked business.
Also, in a standard 20% off sale (which is on this week at toysrus.ca for instance), a 5 member combiner team would cost you at most 90$ with all fees and taxes included. This is a very far shot from the accurately predicted 250$.

Yes, they most definitely are, so congratulations on your first G1 toys. You actually picked up some of the very best toys that generation had to offer. And plus, these came with extras that didnt exist back then, those pink energon cubes. They are made to fit perfectly inside their bodies and they are a new addition to this edition, so congrats again!

Really? Huh, I thought those Energon cubes came with the original toys. I was actually looking for the Seeker Squadron, but I can't seem to find those guys anywhere locally so I decided to get the Insecticons instead. I definitely want to grab more G1 figures though. There's a local comic shop that's supposed to have some retro toys in it, so I might swing by there and see what they have tomorrow. So that makes the series I'm collecting right now G1, Masterpiece and Generations, oh my!

So, the G1 bug finally bit you, heh? (This time, almost litterally!)
You'll see, there is lots of weird and awesome stuff in G1. Many of the most popular molds have been re-issued so go ahead and seek these G1 awesomeness:
-- Optimus Prime. G1 Optimus have been re-release a gazzillion times. It's impossible for you to not find that amazing classic.
-- Megatron. Try to at least get the main body with scope/fusion canon. The bot mode look derpy, but he's quite charming. Plus the transformation is clever and fun! The sad part is, he's pretty expensive. Especially if you want him complete with all accessories. Even the re-issues are pretty pricey. Good luck!
-- Get a Scramble City combiner. That was the original combiner wars, with member compatible with each others. I have the RID version of Bruticus, Ruination, That I could sell to you for a reasonable price. PM me if ya want!
-- If he's still available for a reasonable price, try to get Platinum Predaking. That's a MASSIVE combiner made out of beasts! Plus, the gold instead of the original yellow truly give him a royal look.
-- Astrotrain and Blitzwing. If you don't mind oddball colors, there's the recent Platinum one. If you prefer the originals, there's plenty of weaponless vintages around for cheap.
-- Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Red Alert. Those 3 share an amazing and fun mold. They are easy to find.
-- Last but not least, God Ginrai, A.K.A Powermaster Optimus Prime with Apex Armor. He have been re-issues twice and it's my personal favorite G1 toy ever. You get a derpy optimus with 2 trailers and a human guy. Human guy turn into a engine that allow you to transform the bot. First trailer become a base and the second one partform into a bot. Then, Optimus combine with trailer #1 to become Super Ginrai. Finally, Super Ginrai Combine with trailer #2 to become ULTIMATE GINRAI! Awesome stuff.
Finally, try randomly hunting flea markets. Many treasures and be found there!

The Seeker Squadron is currently only available through online specialty shops, and Wal-Mart.CA. So hopefully that means they'll eventually show up at Wal-Mart.com and even on store shelves.ClearlySane88 wrote:I was actually looking for the Seeker Squadron, but I can't seem to find those guys anywhere locally so I decided to get the Insecticons instead.
Good stuff. Can I assume you opened the bugs and like them then?ClearlySane88 wrote:I definitely want to grab more G1 figures though.
G1 isn't quite as daunting if you're patient and/or stick to reissues. But for must haves, Kan has a great list up there. Only thing I'd add is get a Seeker (or all of them!) and a Datsun (Prowl!). That's G1 to me!ClearlySane88 wrote:So that makes the series I'm collecting right now G1, Masterpiece and Generations, oh my!
