Oh, good; an actual chance to get Weirdwolf in a store.

The Autobot and Decepticon twins look great and I can not wait pick them up unfortunately while I managed to get Siege of Cybertron I missed Chaos on Velocitron, but beside that Cloudraker and Wingspan look great :APPLAUSE:

So while it's been well-known for a while that Wolfwire's the one getting re-issued, does anyone know why he is? Obviously someone has to fill the fourth slot, but he seems to be a bit of a random choice.

I don't really care why, I'm just happy he's coming back because he's one of the two wave 2 deluxes I missed. They didn't stick around at all, they just came and went in a matter of days.

IIRC the original run of Wolfwire suffers from a back flap that WILL break regardless of how careful you are. Perhaps this revision fixes it?

Can testify. Took it off he shelf for the first time in months and it cracked the day after. Look at it wrong and expect breakage at the yellow hinges.

Okay... I was expecting to get Cloudraker from another box set and sell him with my Fastclash, but, now, I'll probably just put him up once the two-packs start to arrive. Should work just fine.

Still got my fingers crossed for the Horrorcons.

Aside from the hopeful (if unlikely) possibility that he's a fixed revision of the mold to combat the cockpit-breakage, I seem to remember something about that he was the only one of the original Headmasters who hadn't seen a second release yet (whether packed in with another wave, or just through a revision wave). Can anyone confirm that off the top of their head? I don't really want to go archive trawling a few months back to make sure.

Is false. Mindwipe never got a second release in a revision case. Everyone else through wave 2 has though as of wave 5.

Actually, it is true. Mindwipe did get a really weird revision case of all Mindwipes right around Christmas when the distribution everywhere for TR was all messed up (somewhere between waves 2 and 3). It wasn't very widespread, but there were a number of photos of stores with 8+ Mindwipes and nothing else.

Absolutely, Hasbro always jumps to attention to correct any errors they have in a figure design... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Only on pain of DEATH has Hasbro ever fixed a design flaw in a figure. Just ask 25th anniversary Duke!

So, how foolish is it to hope for a Fastlane and Pounce set for those of us who didn't get the big boxes, to go with Cloudraker and Wingspan?

Smaller that a Titan master foot peg.
Actually, expect the next boxes to have regular legends or lazy redecos of the clones with new heads.

At this point, can we even be sure there will be more boxed sets? I mean I know Hasbro said there would be 4. But they also said:
The clones were their own class. (They are not, they are Legends)
The clones are not TM compatible. (Fastlane is, not sure on Pounce yet)
One of the clones would be in each boxed set and not for individual release. (This one is still up for debate and could still possibly be both right and sort of wrong)

The proper statement is that the Clones are still their own class, officially. Even though they are Legends Class-sized, they have slightly more plastic than would normally be allowed for main retail Legends Class, hence them being bundled. I don't recall Hasbro stating that the Clones aren't TM compatible, but I do recall them not mentioning how the Clones would be released. Just one of the fans' educated guesses gone viral and taken for fact.

I'm assuming you're talking about the ones on the inside of the legs? Those are for the alt mode.

And the Clones don't combine, at least not officially. The Clones' gimmick is that they have (roughly) the same robot form, but different alt modes, nothing more.

First off, none of these are my designs. I got them from thingverse and used those designs to 3D print these.

Now to some fun Titans Return stuff. Definitely check these out.

first up, the Titan Hammer. It is a hammer that allows for titan master integration in head mode. Sticks out both ends, and holds well. You can use the different titan master powers to give the hammer unique abilities, like freezing an impact zone (Topspin/Freezeout) or shutting down the body part you hit (Sky shadow/Ominus)

Image
Image

Up next, the Titan Saber. Basic principles still apply, but now it is a sword, not a hammer

Image
Image

And finally, we have a blaster (one of 2 I printed) for Brawn and Roadburn, a slingshot for Wheelie, and a printed Mastersword for Fort Max! The Fort Max even includes an accidentally printed 2nd hilt for anything else I can come up with!

If you can get your hands on a 3D printer, there are lots of cool things in thingverse you can play with!

O, I could see TakaraTomy doing this:

- make Overlord a "Getmaster" like Ginrai, using the Headmasters in his pectorals
- include Sky Shadow's Onimus as Mega, with a retooled face plate to evoke IDW Overlord's kissable lips. :x

I did spot Sky Shadow at a Target today, looks good. I passed on him.

You're absolutely right - I picked him up as well! But 'Shadow here is such an awesome incarnation of the character....TR Sixshot is cool, but there are some aspects I prefer from his initial release. Like having a cooler creature-head, tighter joints, bigger guns.....the TR version is more poseable, no doubt, but didn't differentiate/update itself enough, imho.

Still cool, but I absolutely love the Shadow. :STARSEEKERS:

I did have a question about Sixshot. I saw him too, didn't get him either, but that was due to the common issue of the weak knees. Since he seems to ship with Sky Shadow now, any reports on some fixins with the later release?

In all honesty I truly believe the release of Ramhorn as a titan is a clear indication Hasbro deemed the data pads a failure and moved on. Partially because Blaster/Soundwave were the wrong scale and got a lot of hate. Partially because the laserbeak and Ravage molds really sucked. I would also like to see the repaints, but I really yearn for a voyager G1 soundwave with smaller cassettes that scale better and look good. The rumble version of the rewind mold also lacks the signature dual guns mounted on his back which for me makes the character.

Ramhorn may simply be down to them deciding to do Shuffler and Ramhorn is a suitable pre-mould for that design.

The obvious one to include in a gift set would be a Steeljaw & Eject (now Steeljaw has long gone from RID they have no excuse not too) and Frenzy. though even with existing moulds there is plenty of more potential ones to do.

I'd really like a repaint of Blaster and Soundwave and I think a Datapad of the various Dinosaurs, the combining Cassettes in Datapad form and the like of Ratbat would be great. It's a play pattern I enjoy.

I do think the distribution of TR Legends has been diabolically bad though - I've barely seen them - it was a sheer fluke that I have a Rumble/Laserbeak/Ravage at all - and if it wasn't for stumbling across them in a independent toystore I'd likely not have them at all.

Hasbro REALLY needs to address the poor quality of their stickers - they either need to use better sticker stock - or stop using them completely - you do not pay $100+ for something like Trypticon and get substandard stickers on it.

Oh and i'd still rather like a Flywheels coloured repaint of Blitzwing too.

I do understand why Hasbro may feel burned on something like the CW seekers and so don't want to make more of them - but I think the only reason they can't sell tons more of them is the over-pricing issue.

I'm curious about the newer batch as well, JelZe -- the first wave of Sixshot didn't give me too much weakness in the knees, but the original ratcheted and clicked into positions.

Honestly, the user-applied stickers in this line have been pretty good so far - difficulty of actually applying them aside. My Fort Max's stickers are still basically flawless and Trypticon's were good, for the time I had him (haven't applied the stickers on my new one yet). I do totally agree that Hasbro needs to reconsider their factory-applied-stickers direction, it's just not working for them at all. I can't imagine it'd be saving them that much money over tampographs...

Overlord looks great, but...I dunno. I haven't read IDW or watched Masterforce, so I have very little attachment to the character, and the Black Shadow version of the mold looks better. Eh. If I feel a strong desire for an Overlord I think I'll save my money for a Carnifex.

Good to see the clones getting finished, though I wish the other two weren't confined to a pair of expensive boxsets filled with figures I don't want. I'm not sure I care enough about the clones to want to get them either.

I'm glad that Weirdwolf/Wolfwire is getting a reissue, he's annoyingly uncommon and pricy on evilBay compared to other Titans Return deluxes and despite the cockpit issue I really want him because wolves are cool (on a related note, I love that TR Sixshot has a better-sculpted wolf head).

bodrock, A. it's a good thing that TR Sixshot isn't differentiated much and B. Most first-release samples of him may have kinda loose joints, but it's not enough to make him unstable and his knees are a lot less likely to break on you than the knee springs in the vintage figure (speaking from experience). Also, you like the original Sixshot toy's guns better? Then you should be able to lend them to the Titans Return figure.

Overlord is looking good, it's just a pity his rifle isn't a missile-launching one like the original toy's. Well, that and that he's just a Leader and not a Supreme (which I think would reflect his Masterforce size better) but oh well.

So, you know how I asked a few days ago if TR Wheelie could wield the Generations Deluxe Wheelie's slingshot? Funnily enough, looking at his card art... His slingshot as drawn there looks somewhat similar to the version that came with the Deluxe.

Regarding people saying the datapad TFs are failures.. While they're probably wrong about Ramhorn being a Titan Master because of that (obvious Shuffler pretool is obvious), they may still have a point. Lasrbeak and Rewind certainly seem to be shelfwarmers at the Targets I've been to (and at Toys R Us too), and Blaster (one of the toys they're meant to go with) also seems to be a shelfwarmer.

The Ebay prices are not that dramatic. But eh, shipping always make it a raw deal.
Wolfwire did wow me. So much that I bought a Reprolabel set for him and with that, he's even more amazing.

also, the ones who break the cockpit door must have done it on purpose by forcing it the wrong way or something. I transformed mine several times and I never felt the thing was fragile at all.

Mine broke, so I can say from experience...sure, it doesn't feel fragile, and to be honest, I feel like it doesn't break...I think it just falls apart or something like that. When it broke, I didn't feel it. I couldn't even tell, I just happened to look at the hinges and 'oh scrap, they broke, when did that happen'.

Either a production run fault, or if one mistransform him at a precise step, it's pretty unforgiving.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As someone else whose cockpit hinge broke, I can safely say from experience that it doesn't really hurt the enjoyment of the toy for me at all. Oh sure, it sucks, and Hasbro really need to get their QC in order; but it's something I can easily ignore funnily enough and it's not like it explodes out every two seconds. Wolf mode still works fantastically, Robot mode is still surprisingly awesome, transformation... it's a little disheartening with the broken hinge, but it's no big deal.

Here's something I think would be cool, though we probably won't see it. A small Titan Master with a body tooling-cloned from the Diac/Murk mold, ideally sold in random colors in blind-bags but as a regular Titan Master with a vehicle would work too. I think that would be perfect for buying as crew-filler

Man Overlord looks boring and makes me mad. Carnifex all the way. Misfire is looking pink again but hopefully it'll be fine in hand. I'm glad Wolfwire is getting a rerelease, never got around to getting him and people say he's great, he's the only top-tier deluxe I don't have that's already been released. And if he has a fixed cockpit that's a nice bonus. :D

I usually wait for the :TAKARATOMY: versions of figures, but this :HASBRO: offering doesn't look half bad. I may consider picking up both. This collecting hobby sure is making me broke!

ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:bodrock, A. it's a good thing that TR Sixshot isn't differentiated much and B.

I hear ya, Zelda -- I totally gave TR 6S his G1 original's guns. And I do like the figure -- I just can't put my finger on why I didn't dig him more.

heh, The original was super-tight, and I'm lucky he hasn't snapped in half yet due to that fact. I'm sure it's pure nostalgia to blame for my preference. ;)

Are you kidding? Carnifex is ugly. If you're going to insist on third party, wait until one of the outfits with an actual grasp on aesthetics makes a Fauxverlord.

What exactly makes Overlord look "boring" to you anyway?

Fore some reason Overlord's Feet look weird to me compared to the original overlord and the previous use of the mould.

This is a joke, right? Carnifex is gorgeous. Granted he's based on the IDW design rather than the Masterforce anime design, but he captures the design absolutely perfectly, so if you find him ugly the fault lies at IDW, not MMC. Plus, from everything I've seen he's an absolutely stellar figure- super poseable, nicely painted and wonderfully built.

He looks better with the upgrade kit - I don't much like the use of the same part upside down when they have not bothered to make a left & right part on such an expensive toy that is a bit lame.
He is better with the upgrade though adding the Powermasters helps I feel.

Speaking of which I would like it if something in the 2018 line was a retrospective use for the Hasbro Overlord's chest if any of the replacements for Titanmasters are suitable to do that.

I don't think anyone thought to include a suitable mini-vehicle though like the one G1 had one.

I doubt very much Overlord will be easy to get in the UK though but the Hasbro one is of reasonable interest to me - I'm glad that they remoulded it as much as they did.

One thing is sure, I'll get that Overlord when he'll come out. As for the "head-tits", just turn the head around and there you go, suitable engine blocks!

So guys, what Titan Masters would be the most suitable to play the roles of the two "engine guys"?

Ideally, the faces could resemble the humans, one that would look female.

Unless I say "screw it" and go full custom.

Dreadnaught and Ominus are already sculpted to resemble Giga and Mega.
