Experience the figures that started it all. These Transformers: Vintage G1 Mini-Cassette 3-Pack figures are designed like the original G1 versions -- including figure styling, packaging, and art inspired by the 1987 G1 releases, plus classic tech specs and accessories. (Re)start a vintage Transformers collection with these Noizu, Gurafi, and Decepticon Frenzy figures. Decepticon Frenzy craves spreading fear and destruction. Can roll his drums to produce high-pitch sound of 200db.
Gurafi is the calmest of his teammates. Beak can tear through 5 cm of steel and has low-powered laser that blinds enemies. Noizu is the most violent of the Dinocassettes. Crumbles steel reinforced bridge supports in a single blow. Noizu and Gurafi combine to form Decibel. Clip out and save the on-box tech specs to share, then see how this figure stacks up against other heroic Autobots and evil Decepticons (each sold separately).
Includes: 3 figures, 6 accessories, and instructions.

I preordered this right away. Time to replace some knockoffs!
And, yeah, why Rumble?! Weird.

Of course the package says Frenzy, robots in disguise come on gang.

I'm gonna wager a guess, and say that it's a sly reference to the Ratbat pack back in G1, which also had an extra blue guy.

Or, you know, Enemy.

THANK you. I pointed that out in at least one thread. Enemy (or Ratbat, after having given it some more thought, since every time I've looked G1 Ratbat's price has been in the "annoying" range on eBay) would be far better choices than a duplicate blue guy.

- Dairu/Dile and Zauru are available in two sets, one set has an extra blue guy
- Gurafi/Graphy and Noizu/Noise come with an extra red guy
- Red and blue already come with Buzzsaw and Ravage

I think you got a lot of that wrong. All sets cone with extras and you mixed the colours.

Info overload can do a lot with me...
Ok, let's try this again:
G1 Vintage Series
Ravage & Rumble (red)
Laserbeak & Frenzy (blue)
Gurafi & Noizu, with Frenzy (blue)
Dairu & Zauru, with Rumble (red)
Studio Series
19 Retro Rock Garage: Bumblebee, Dairu & Uruaz
20 Retro Pop Highway: Bumblebee, Zauru & Uriad
No matter how you cut it, one still ends up with doubles.

The colors look identical to me, the only difference I can see between the two is the new head deco that I can't figure out the reference to. It's definitely not cartoon accurate (otherwise they'd have swapped the names).

As I mentioned in the other thread, it looks like they were supposed to paint his optics red, and someone confused the dot on his forehead for his optics.
The whole thing makes no sense, because if this was supposed to be the toon version, they would have called him Rumble with the Walmart one being Frenzy.

Still, it's nice to see these guys finally widely available, and the price seems fairly reasonable as far as reissues go, though I do feel a little sorry for those who shelled out for one or both of the Retro Pop Highway sets and are feeling burned right now (though I do think the clear Decepticon versions of the cassettes are pretty cool, and I'd love it if they got their own separate rerelease).
...Slamdance and Squawkbox next, please?

Those molds are still around, they got reissued in the Encore line.

That would have been a great idea, better than double dipping Frenzy

Not saying to crack open your wishful thinking catalog since cassettes are going to be much cheaper to make molds for than other toys given their small size and parts count, just saying that if they think the money's there to justify it they can reissue whatever they want.

Time to put my old KOs in a box and proudly display the real deal. Really glad I got these. I don't get why they've included Frenzy. Whatever. It could be better, but I guess this means I don't need to buy the redundant Dinocassettes (as I have the Retro garage sets).

For the US, Hasbro Pulse seem to be the exclusive vendor.

We have gotten confirmation from 5 different sources that Hasbro Pulse is cancelling some of the pre-orders placed for the Dinocassettes. From what the emails from Pulse have been saying, it appears as though Pulse over-sold the Dinocassette pre-orders, meaning that those who placed later pre-orders are at risk of not having their orders fulfilled due to lack of stock.
The emails started going out a couple of hours ago, so if your dinocassette order is to be cancelled, you will probably be hearing from Hasbro Pulse shortly. You will not be charged for the order since there is no stock, though it does seem as though Pulse is offering a $10 off your next order coupon for the trouble of cancelling the pre-order. It is some type of consolation, but certainly disappointing that some people will not be getting their dinocassettes.

In terms of engineering, yes. I've heard that some of the detail on them is more akin to the KO sets than the originals. I'm not saying that's true, but if it is I find it hilarious that even Hasbro themselves couldn't get an original set of dinocassettes.

Well since they never released them it falls to Hasbro reaching out to Takara if they have those mold casts or not.

Same here. Having to save almost everything up for Unicron meant putting this on the back burner, so another run was my only hope.chuckdawg1999 wrote:I was hoping they'd do a second run of these, guess not.
Funny how every attempt by anyone to reproduce the W Cassettes results in such limited numbers that their prices ultimately skyrocket near the range of the originals.
Gladder than ever I got the KOs back when I did, if the official reissue is doomed to be permanently limited, since one or two more fans holding out for this will own the ones I otherwise would've bought, and I still got mine from almost a decade ago. CHMS and KOTOYS, your actions now seem more heroic than ever, saving this subspecies from extinction.
Here's hoping HasTak make me eat those words by somehow reissuing this reissue someday soon, along with Slamdance and Squawkbox. Until then, my CHMS Classics Seekers will raise a 20-something gun salute in honor of fallen.
