Jim Sorenson, Bill Forster (w)

Transformers: Legacy collects hundreds of beautifully airbrushed paintings from the iconic first decade of The Transformers. Essays and interviews from the original illustrators give unprecedented insight into the process behind the art. This book is chocked full of extras, including never before seen artwork from toys that never were, original design sketches, catalog artwork, and more.

• The Transformers art book that you've been waiting for all these years! From the archives of Hasbro, Takara and private collectors!

And that Windburn TF that the fans supposedly created is goofy looking. That is the best we could come up with? That's embarrassing.....definitely skipping the Generations toy. There is no way an alien from a planet millions of light years away is going to chose the ascetic look of a female Japanese warrior. I mean come on.

And nobody knows yet. These teasers are farther ahead from where even the comics currently are.

OMG if Megatron is going to be on the Lost Light with the rest of the crew then OOOOOOOOOOOOH BOY! I smell a SITCOM!
Though, sadly, I do beleive this HAS to be some sort of sick trick Megatron has planned for something. We all remember what happened when he surrendered himself back around Chaos, right? Ya, that lasted a few issues...

Gee, thanks, it's not as if I live on the internet to churn out comics news regularly.

It was already pretty much Red Dwarf but with robots

Nuke the entire Solar System.
So Megatron leads the Lost Light's quest now? Guess that means Rodimus bites it then.
I really want to see Megatron get hammered together with Wirl, Rung, and Trailcutter now, with Ultra Magnus watching his every step like a hawk, twitching and getting all giddy at the thought of Megatron making one mistake so he can punch him into dust.

leokearon wrote:Not Earth again. No more humans in Transformers, why would any transformer want to go back there given the last time, unless it was for revenge
Honestly I wouldn't mind going back to Earth in the series, would definitely tie some loose ends. I have a feeling Spike will return and may possibly be part of the threat. Also, been awhile since we heard from Thundercracker. I don't recall if he ever left Earth.
Spike = part of the threat, calling it.

shockblast2 wrote:Man, reading you all talking about the books makes me want to start reading them. I read all the ones with the Generations Bots and they were pretty good. Could I jump on without being too confused?
Yes and no. I would always recommend getting in at one of the 'starting points'. But there is still a lot of work that happened in previous parts of the series that might matter and change things.
Definitely recommended though, if you liked the Spotlights, everything MTMTE and RID up to Dark Cybertron, go for the trades. That's 5 volumes each.
If you can, Last Stand of the Wreckers will give you a feel for what MTMTE is trying to do, as well.

I did like the spotlights so I will have to do that. Let me ask, and this doesn't spoil anything for me, who has appeared and died so far in the series? The article said the Autobot Megatron book was a good jump on point, so I think I will start there with the most current run. Thanks, I appreciate the info!

Orin_Thomas wrote:Given I'm not particularly interested in reading a polemic on how we are all misogynists for liking genderless robots, Wingblade for me is DOA. I'm also having trouble believing that there is more good material to mine on Earth, especially as such effort has been made in the past to make it clear that humans don't want transformers around and don't need help in dealing with the occasional Decepticon that gets stuck there. A pity that they didn't decide to go to another planet, even Nebulos, which had a higher tech humanoid population and none of the back-story baggage. As for the death of Rodimus - lets face it, who stays dead in these comics anyway?
Yes, who is dead in the comics? Besides Dreadwing, assuming the shot in the back Shockwave gave him in his spotlight comic killed him? And Sunstreaker who was, I believe, killed in the Hoist book. That one sucked because it was a hologram or something, but it really killed Sunstreaker?

There are a few others... more recently.
Ratbat, Sunstorm, and Bombshell are probably the most recent examples. It's also a bit unclear if any other Insecticons (aside from Bob) are still alive.

I'm going to give Scott a chance here, and might read the issue if the Wingblade toy turns out better than I'm currently expecting. Other than that I have no interest in this at all.

Things are about to happen in the coming issues that, to me at least, appear to set up some really interesting storylines. I'm guessing not everything will be explained, and that's where the Windblade mini-series comes in. Definitely up for it.

Or he might end up dying to taking down Nova Prime ot Galvatron, saving Orion Pax in a reverse version of Optimus saving Hot Rod back in the G1 movie.

Those themes are in context to the comic, by listening to them you can get a feel to how Megatron will be portrait in the comic series and what he'll be about.

FEB140337 E TRANSFORMERS WINDBLADE #1 (OF 4) - This gets you the Casey cover IDW was showing off here:
http://tumblr.idwpublishing.com/image/73451204525
FEB140338 E TRANSFORMERS WINDBLADE #1 (OF 4) SUBSCRIPTION VAR - This gets you Sarah’s cover (which is currently my desktop and I am in love with).
And if you want Livio’s art (and who doesn’t) you’re gonna have to work a little harder. It’s the 10-copy Retailer Incentive, so you’ll need to ask your local comic book store peeps politely to order lots of issues and give you first dibs on it. But come on, isn’t this worth it?
John Barber wrote:Diamond order codes for Transformers RID #28 (Dawn of the Autobots) are: Regular cover: FEB140331

James Roberts wrote:You go to your comic book store and you say you want to pre-order Regular FEB140334 E TRANSFORMERS MORE THAN MEETS EYE #28 DAWN O/T AUTOBOTS
Regular FEB140334 sports the Casey W Coller cover. It is ace. You should buy lots. Just saying.
For the Alex Milne cover, quote 'Sub FEB140335 E TRANSFORMERS MORE THAN MEETS EYE #28 SUBSCRIPTION VAR'.
Alex's cover is being withheld because SPOILERS, but look me in the eye and tell me you don't think it's going to be awesome. It IS awesome.

I'm hoping with the announcement of Bluestreak that we will be getting a new Prowl figure. Would make sense in my book considering Prowl is a main character. I can dream can't I?

A reissue of the Universe 2.0 figure is more likely, methinks.
I can see Hasbro announcing an Asia Exclusive 3-pack of the Classics "Datsun" brothers.

Just this one emulates a gun alt-mode and looks less like a tank. Check out the things on his shoulders that kinda look like the hammer of a gun.
Really cool, it's going to be really interesting to see how him being on the lost light is going to play out.

Oh god, I totally missed that! I was so into the design and its symmetry that I managed to miss the missing fusion cannon.
I wonder if he just doesn't have one now, or if it's simply not in this design. I guess he won't have it on the ship as a sort of safety rule.
Oh wait, I remember now this one issue in which Tarn quotes one of Megatron's writings, in it Megatron states that he will carry his weapon until peace has finally come, and the image shows him holding the fusion cannon in two hands like an offering.
So maybe he discards it before he joins the Lost Light?

Not a Voyager, a new Leader Class mold, and apparently it's based on the idw design from RID, this one
