While we have had the "A" cover, and the unfinished 5 page preview, we have not yet before seen the "B" cover, which gives away some hints about other characters to appear in this Spotlight:

I'm thinking they might just be part of "the big picture" he was ranting to Skywarp about.
As the page slowly loaded, I first thought we may have been seeing Octopunch's first appearance!
And isn't Skywarp a dim-witted soldier who needs constant supervision? Why is Ramjet trusting him?

And...dust' mine eyes deceive me? Skywarp having some manner of plot importance? It's gotta be my birthday! I'm loving this!

Then again, I was told that by someone who works at IDW. And why should I believe anything they say?

I'm kind of glad that Moore used the word 'crap' instead of 'slag' or some equivalent.
I'm not sure why Skywarp says, "You weren't on Earth then," when Ramjet would probably already know that. Even if Ramjet didn't know when Starscream had been put out of commission, why does he need to know when?
I like the art a lot.

his canopy is there and the knee error is actually a perspective thing(one knee is directly facing us while the other is uptilted so you can't see the gold detail)1337W422102 wrote:Both of Ramjet's knees are different and he's missing his cockpit's canopy. This really IS a G1 cartoon cover, animation errors and everything! (just kidding and being a jerk. I really like this one. I'm curious about those dudes at the bottom...)

compare what is shown of his left knee to his right.

Grimlockprime is right, the gold detailing on the left knee can't be seen due to the angle. Check the image again, more specifically the inside of the left knee. There are no errors in the image.
So who did this cover? Considering the cartoon-like artwork, I'd say... Guido Guidi??

his right knee has two vertical lines meeting at a horizontal line. its different on his left knee.

First--the art is done by Robby Musso, who did Ultra Magnus' issue, and he delivers again. Good, paced storytelling to fit the direction of Furman's script. Musso's art, while maintaining the meched-out look that's popular nowadays, is unique enough that it stands out, especially in a field where we've got heavyweights like Joe Ng and Don Fig. Josh Burcham's colors, as always, remain excellent.
Second--the story feels either rushed or compacted somehow. I will say that the events of the issue run concurrently with the Escalation arc. It felt like Ramjet's schemes were too grandiose, and compacting all of it into a spotlight issue made it feel almost anticlimactic. It's not a bad read--just not as fully satisfying as other spotlights, which have more of an edge-of-your-seat feel in terms of character dynamics and overall plot. Most of the spotlights don't have a clear-cut resolution in terms of lingering storylines (Nightbeat, Magnus, Soundwave, Sixshot, etc.), but this one does--and ultimately left me feeling kind of unsatisfied.

And are you sure Simon Furman is the writer? I thought I read it was someone else some time ago...

Guido Guidi did the alt cover, with the G1 cartoon-inspired look to it.

The art in every issue of the IDW books should look this, inside and out.
