However, for all those who bad-mouth Hasbro on the numerous repaints, at least they 'repaint' and 'repackage.' TT just re-releases the same product in the same package (most of the time) over and over.

Next to nothing, since Magnus is Hasbro only

This was on the list of re-releases with Predaking, Sixshot etc. we saw a while back, which also lends credability to that. I'm glad we'll get another chance, I've been after Prime for a while now.

Awwww
That's going to make finding a Ultra Magnus expensive. Too bad Hasbro doesn't re issue him haha

And they're too different things that we can't compare. Hasbro Repainting is to sell the toy as a different product. Takara's re-release is giving a chance to collector's who missed out on the figure.

I have high hopes for Predaking, Sixshot, Primus and HS GF Convoy. Since South Korea is currently releasing the Galaxy Force line, Primus can't be too far away .

1, I filled up my July budget already by buying/pre-ordering a bunch of FP and other classic/universe items.
2, I Bought a KO Prime to dress up and modify instead.
bad timing is BAD

He would if you had him side by side with the Classics one, which you would promptly throw out the nearest window.

Eh, let's just agree to disagree, until I hold one in my hands at Botcon, and buy it anyway

I've wanted this prime but was unwilling to pay the uber-premium he's been getting lately.
Good news for me.
I WISH Hasbro would do the occasional re-release. Especially with the big guys like Prime & Megatron.
They've over saturated guys like Prime & BB with the movie line, but with classics/universe/generations, some characters should be made available more often.

IMO, that's not whay they're doing. It's simply a business decision, IMO. It's not like this guy is hard to find even on the secondary market goes for same price as roughly the original release. So, might as well re-release for more cash since there's still some demand.
I don't know if you've noticed, but since Tomy bought Takara the innovation in Transformers seems to be all Hasbro now. I know they work together, but seems the tables have turned. Hasbro releases all the lines first, then TT does. TT still has the collector in mind, first, with Masterpiece and Alternity, but every other line is mass market, including Henkei.
This isn't a knock, really against either company since I support both. Just missing the days when Takara released the molds first in superior paint, and Hasbro would release sloppy seconds next (with a few extra molds that didn't get a Japan mainstream release)

I support both Takara Tomy and Hasbro too but TT hasn't done a great job recently in my opinion either not in terms of quality but in terms of what they've released:
No Encore releases for a long time - hopefully now that the leaked release list of figures is proving to be correct, we'll FINALLY get Predaking & Sixshot) but almost 6 months and no official Encore news ;-(
Masterpieces - only repaints/reissues since Grimlock. Galvatron can be painted in G1 toy & anime colours, Hot Rod can be done in G1 colours and shattered glass colours a la nemisis Prime. Let's have them!
Also hope Hasbro release Thundercracker in his G1 anime colours instead of that crappy dark metallic blue. Long shot tho.
Alternity - The cars are cool but I don't want to see Transformers that aren't cars (Optimus, Starscream, Megatron, Skywarp) transforming into cars when that's not their traditional alt mode. Why not some cool modern planes/trucks/guns or something?
Animated = for kids really
Japanese & Hasbro ROTF - the movie was almost a year ago time to move on, how many versions do we need of each figure?
Device label: innovative but not something I'm interested in.
Exclusives - nothing special except for the superb Skyfire repaint for over 6 months. With all the TFCC exclusives giving some nice classics figure repaints I think it's about time TT got thinking about what's next for those of us who live in the land of the rising sun (Punch/Counterpunch, Grapple and Sunstorm/Acidstorm please. No Glyphs).
Sorry, complaining a lot but it's been a slow first 4 months of 2010 in terms of TFs and after being spoiled last year it's been a let down so far, I'm sure there must be a few people who feel the same way at least about some of my bitching.
Recent purchases: Henkei Wildrider, Dark Skyfire, Universe Dragstrip, Warbot Defender.
Pre-orders: TFCC Dion,

lol. I did next best thing: sold him off like the red-headed step-child he is.
Cool beans for anyone who didn't get him the first time! Everyone deserves to have Henkei Convoy in their collection. Or maybe Henkei Convoy deserves to be in everyone's collection. Yeah, I think that's it.
