BURBANK, C.A. - January 13, 2015 - Hasbro Studios, the Los Angeles-based entertainment division of Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS), announced today that the popular kids television series Transformers: Robots in Disguise will return for a second season on Cartoon Network in the U.S., which consistently ranks as a top-rated network in Total Day for kids ages 6-11. The latest installment in the global TRANSFORMERS franchise will debut its second season in the first quarter of 2016.

"Transformers: Robots in Disguise continues to be a massive hit with kids across the country, launching with an outstanding debut season on Cartoon Network," said Hasbro’s Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer Stephen Davis. "Season two will bring back Bumblebee and his Autobots team for all new action-packed battles, fun-filled adventures and other humorous new characters with vibrant personalities that made season one a hit with kids. We continue to listen to our viewers’ feedback and are bringing back many fan-favorite characters, as well as some great surprises we know kids of all ages are going to love."

Set years after "Transformers: Prime," Robots in Disguise stars the lovable Bumblebee character, summoned by Optimus Prime to lead in a fight to save Earth from a new faction of escaped Decepticon prisoners by assembling a rogue team of unlikely Autobot heroes to capture their new enemies. Season two will see the return of a more confident, battle-tested Bumblebee as the leader of the Autobots, including his teammates Grimlock, Sideswipe, Strongarm, Fixit, Windblade and Drift. Protecting Earth becomes a mighty task as the team prepares to battle against menacing pairs of Cyclone Mini-Cons, who partner with Deployers to unleash the most powerful attacks and wreak even more destruction than ever. Our hero Bumblebee and his team prepare for battle with new power-ups and mini-con allies of their own, as they maintain their mission to protect the planet as robots in disguise. The series will continue to celebrate the continuous underlying themes of teamwork, companionship and the importance of standing up to wrongdoers.

The highly innovative TRANSFORMERS franchise is one of the largest global brands, spanning across television, film, consumer products and digital entertainment properties including gaming, apps, publishing, transmedia events, toys and licensing.

Were getting two seasons and a movie in total.

No definites but heavily hinted that the show will end after season 2 and the movie.

Sales for toys and dvds are probably not that great not saying thier going down the tube or losing money but it's a slower year.

If it does end will this be the shortest main western transformers show to not make it past 2 seasons?

Well, it did say that we will see the return of said Bumblebee, so perhaps the press release was trying to contrast him with his character in other fiction (Prime, the movies). RID Bumblebee is more confident than his prior iterations, as he must be to lead an Autobot team, and he's more battle-tested as a field leader post RID Season 1, especially after formulating the plan and leading the attack that defeated Megatronus.

Would that even count as a show?

Most machinima products have been dvd movies and small Web series.

I don't think Combiner wars is going to be that long at most 12 or13 episodes if it goes by anime standards which I only bring up since some Japanese company is working on the animation I think.

Correct me if I'm wrong only going by memory.

Fellow Seibertronians, Hasbro Studios Shorts has uploaded a new video titled "Meet the Autobots". It appears to be a trailer focusing on recapping the Autobot cast and features new footage from season 2. This includes shots of the new Decepticon Overload, a small lizard that resembles Crazybolt, and the arctic-based redeco of Optimus Prime.

As of right now you have to view it on YouTube, so check it out using the link below, and tell us what you think of the trailer. Are you excited for this new season? How about the new criminals, con's, and arctic deco upgrades? Let us know in the comments below.

Hellscream9999, I'm excited for Season 2 as much as all of you guys. But, the new orange Decepticon in the trailer is definitely not Crazybolt, as he is a horned lizard, and this new one is in fact an alligator. The website named, TFW2005.com assumed that the Alligator is a Minicon, in which he didn't appeared to be.

Sometime today, if you please, show us the trailer for the Decepticons, since we do saw the trailer for the Autobots. I do really want to see which Cons are debuting and which ones are returning. :CON:

You sound like he possesses a Decepticon trailer that he's held back from showing to us. This Autobots one came from Hasbro and was posted on YouTube by Hasbro. None of us have any control over these trailers. You assume that anyone can just show a Decepticon trailer when there is none to show.

Crazybolt isn't a horned lizard, he's just a made up reptilian looking Decepticon! Same with the new little reptile character, he's not any particular species, he's just a lizard and not a alligator. How do I know this? Alligator's can't jump like that, and having one do so in show would really stretch the credibility of it's already subpar animal-gimmick 'Cons.

Well, that orange lizard in the cartoon that Hasbro just showed us isn't Crazybolt, is he? Is the new orange lizard a Minicon like Fixit or a Decepticon like Steeljaw? :CON:

I'll agree with you on that one, and I wasn't saying he is Crazybolt, I'm simply arguing your instant branding of the character as being based on a certain kind of lizard is hasty.

And we don't know if that's a Minicon or Decepticon, or both. Nobody on here is holding a gigantic leather-bound answer key to the show, we know only as much as you do.

Micronus Prime certainly looks like a mystical bad ass in that art (and the Covenant of Prime book), shame the version from the show is all squat like the other Minicons in the series.

Should the Decepticons from Season 1 choose to break free and re-appear in Season 2, I really do hope that they all form into an army by Steeljaw and take on the Autobots all at once. Also, if Pseudo chooses to return in Season 2, I really do hope that he remain as this:

and not evolved into this:

However, if a ladybug Decepticon chooses to debut in Season 2, I would suspect that is definitely not him. :CON:

Although, it can only be watched on YouTube, we also get an interesting post on Kirk Van Wormer's Twitter account that seems to simultaneously announce and confirm a season 4 of RID, despite there being no news of a season 3 at this point - we have screencapped the message below, in case of changes from on high.

They might be skipping a season, but my guess is it's a typo :-D

Chances are that season 4 refers to the upcoming rescue bots season or it's a mistype.

I doubt this is confirmation especially with prior news about rid ending after two seasons and a movie.

While I am all for this I am sticking to my guns and calling this a typo.

Any business professional would know better than to announce something like this on Twitter.

This screenshot from the latest trailer shown from the latest season 2 trailer shows that Grimock is fighting with a brand new Decepticon called Ransack. He is not to be confused with Ransack the Minicon. This is Ransack the Insecticon! He is in his robot mode. Please let me know if you found a picture of his alt-mode. Does he have a vehicle mode like Kickback, or does he turn into an insect for sure? I do believe that he will have a toy one day, as he had already been a toy numerous times from multiple generations since G1. :CON:

There was no confirmation. It was TFW jumping the gun on declaring the end of "the kiddie garbage show that they everyone hates". >:oP

In the comments below the Tweet, when asked what he meant by "season 4", Wormer seems to be very coy about clarifying on that. If it were a typo, he'd probably just come out and say so. But since he isn't, maybe "season 4" means something to him that's different from what it means to us. Perhaps, he meant the fourth season of production rather than broadcast. In this case, maybe the first season of production was the first half of the first televised season, with the second season of production being the second half of the first TV season, the third production season being all of the TV season 2 (since it's shorter), thus making the third TV season being the fourth production season.

To give an example of something like this, Beast Wars had something similar going on behind the scenes back in the day, in which Doug Parker (Terrorsaur) once mentioned online that he was then-currently doing voice work for "season 3" of the show when season 2 hadn't even started yet. What Parker meant by this was actually season 2 because, on the production side of things, one season is 13 episodes and season 1 of Beast Wars had 26 episodes, so it was more like two seasons from the production side despite all 26 episodes airing on TV as a single season.

Hasbro Studios confirmed the RID series length at 45 x 22mins. Season 2 will be 16 episodes long and end with a movie that equals three episodes. It was originally supposed to be 78 x 22 mins. but that has now changed. Here's a link confirming this:

And here's an image from Hasbro Studios confirming this as well:

So, while it is possible that a Season 3 will still happen, it is highly unlikely considering the change in the total number of episodes and the fact that a movie will end Season 2 just like Predacons Rising ended Season 3 of Prime.

I recall reading somewhere about that being the "current" episode count rather than the "final" count.

At this point, I really do hope for a season 3. I do enjoy the show and I want more of it. It did click with me. And take a grain of salt when referring to TFW "news" on occasion :BOT:
