While Instagram might be a place filled with pictures of meals and duckface selfies, it will now finally have some awesome stuff in terms of official Transformers Images from Hasbro. Fellow Seibertronian AZT found this interesting announcement on the official Transformers Facebook page:

It’s high time the Transformers team gets on Instagram. So Bumblebee is packing up the crew and snapping pics in New York to kick it off. @TransformersOfficial goes live this week with a big announcement and an up-close look at a certain Titan scale figure.

Transformers News: Hasbro will be Revealing Toy Images of Transformers Titans Return Fortress Maximus on Instagram

So keep a lookout for when the official Transformers Instagram account goes live since it seems this is how they will reveal toy images of Titan Fortress Maximus, who is without a doubt the "titan scale figure" they are referring to.

Which bumblebee is that in the picture?

Does not look like Takaras bumblebee. Too bright and cartoony yellow. I like it.

I live in the UK which doesn't always even get many of the figures, particularly late wave ones and I picked up Gen Brainstorm at Cambridge branch of Toys R Us a few months back and it was half price too. For me, any figure that appears in that Toys R Us in the past year that isn't RID or CW is surprising as all heck. The headmaster worked absolutely fine (the number on the back of the box confirms it was the later fixed version). I'd actually much prefer more of the original Headmasters in Voyager than shrinking them all to Deluxe. It's whats putting me off Hardhead. I'd much rather have him in Voyager so he can fit in my Voyager group of Autobots that include Springer, Sandstorm, Grimlock and others. Hardhead is probably gonna end up the size of my AoE Deluxe Bee and he really shouldn't. I like my Deluxes to be characters that are meant to be smaller than the norm (with Leader class for the ones the other way)

Because I want a version of the flying form of this Blurr mold NOT as Brainstorm.

As far as the, 'if you don't like headmasters, don't remove the head' thing, to me the problem comes in when they make significant concessions in a toy's design to include some gimmick. The fact that Galvatron is a headmaster doesn't bother me, but I will be bothered if he has a springloaded crown/helmet that looks bad from any angle except straight on, and that eliminates any functional articulation at the neck.

That's basically my issue, I don't think they're spring-loaded, they were shown off in video's. While most, if not all of them will have y-axis rotation (left and right), none of them appear to actually have x-axis rotation (up and down) which is truly unfortunate, especially when they could have incorporated it into the headmasters :(

I'm also a Brit, but unfortunately I do not even have a Toys R Us that is even viable to get to. :( all my recent generations purchases have either had to be from Ebay or B&M Bargains I was able to get Roadbuster and Rhinox.

I wish the one in Preston was only 30 minutes away. Even if I had a car, it would be an hour away from me. On the buses, closer to 3.

Great characters like galvatron, sentinel prime and astrotrain shouldn't be headmasters in the first place.
Sentinel Prime and Astrotrain are "great characters"? Since when? :P

Sentinel prime was bad ass in megatron origins I loved his power suit like iron man. He valiantly stood against but was ultimately viciously killed by megatron. He was a good predecessor in his nature to optimus and came off really well.

I always liked astrotrain in g1 and idw have given him a nice new lease of life as the grumpy sarcastic transport. I just don't think these characters deserve to be stained by being headmasters.

So they have a removable head, how is that 'being stained' for every person out there against headmasters is another who maybe grew up with them, and has been hoping for these figures, and gimmick to make a comeback >:oP

As I said above if you read my comments, the characters mentioned never have been headmasters. Galvatron idw states his hatred for headmasters.

It stains the characters by having a crap gimmick that they never had previously. They're their own character not some body being piloted.

I've no problem with the likes of brainstorm and chromedome and the likes who've always been headmasters to make a return but to make characters like galvatron, sentinel, astrotrain, scourge and blurr into headmasters is hugely disappointing.

So, rid, armada, energon, and cybertron are all garbage because they designed the figures around a central gimmick... I mean, they took G1 Grimlock and made him a raptor in BW, is he forever stained now

That's an incorrect analogy. Those are different eras and different characters that used gimmicks. These figures are based off idw/g1.

Grimlock still remained a beast to robot. The gathering is a tie in to sell toys and extend the story of beast wars but the essential thing is grimlock remained a carnivorous dinosaur to robot. Not a headmaster. That's actually a massive change.

Heh, indeed, Hooray for the Internet. :) And Thanks for the welcome, I have been a lurker and reader of the boards for years, but it's only recently I have actually started to post at all. It's just a shame that internet prices get inflated. My best friend has been working on getting a full Menasor, now only needing Dead End.. but the cheapest one available is £23.. the RRP of a Voyager figure in the UK!

Have you considered ordering the TakaraTomy full sets (Unite Warriors) from the likes of HLJ or AmiAmi? Their prices are quite cheap but I've no idea what the shipping would be like from JPY to UK though... :-?

I think the Transformers Brand has made it awfully clear that the only true G1 toys you would be getting are the actual Hasbro G1 toys. If you want moderized G1 and nothing but, then Takara has the Masterpiece line. Outside of G1 and Masterpiece, there are no rules. Where were you guys when Rodimus became a micromaster? Or when Optimus became a triple changer dragon? Or when Blurr was just a retool of Drift as a normal earth car? Thats as much a huge change sicne tha character was always about his fast sleek futuristic altmode. Like making G1 Megatron into a tank instead of a gun, that's an INSANELY HUGE change.

Did we ever actually get an Optimus Prime that was a White Freightliner cab part of the classics line? No. And we wont. Why arent we going cray over that?! The Generations toy are of the G1 characters, sure but that is a starting point, just inspiration, their point is never to actually give you G1 again, because G1 already exists.

To me, this line is the same as Animated, Prime, or the movie line. It's a new take on G1 characters adn thats what it's always been.

I have considered it, but unfortunately I can't afford to spend that much in a single purchase. Wish I could, as I would LOVE to get Bruticus as a complete set. I also expect it to be impossible to get the G2 Menasor and Superion reasonably in the uk.

My point is, since the line isn't out yet, the characters some people are saying "could've replaced Galvatron, Sentinel, and Astrotrain", may be coming out also. We only have confirmation of a handful of characters, and we still have a whole line to be revealed. Just a pet peeve of mine to rant about.

Was there all of this nonsense going on about Hasbro releasing third party figures back when Generations Arcee was revealed? It looks so much like IGear's Delicate Warrior and/or Impossible Toys' Valkyrie. However they were all based on the unreleased Titanium Arcee prototype so of course they'd all look alike. So now, as it was then, Hasbro is copying Hasbro and not a third party as they're also copying Hasbro.

I just bought Generations Brainstorm in a lot on Ebay several hours ago even though I knew this was being released. That voyager is just too good looking not to own even with a newer version coming out regardless of which one is more "accurate". I have room for both in my collection as the deluxe almost looks like a different character entirely compared to the voyager...and the Autobots could always use more air support as I've noticed from recently separating my figures by land/air/beast alt modes. We also need WAY more aquatic based Transformers.

Didn't buy the likes of that micromaster rodimus. Leader megatron is heavily influenced between g1 and idw so that only strengthens my argument.

As I said this line is based off of g1 and idw. Not sure if you read the comics or not but they're pretty g1 in the comic designs. NOWHERE in the comics or previous media have galvatron, sentinel prime, blurr, scourge or astrotrain been headmasters.

I'd understand if there's many different versions of the characters to spawn variety but each character in this titan returns line hasn't really got much spotlight and therefore should not be a headmaster in a first or second outing.

I'm here. I'd question myself as a fan if I was happy to get a headmaster to characters that haven't gotten much spotlight and such a massive change.

I'm entitled to my opinion.

My plan, unless there's a shift in the IDW fiction(the current fiction I'm beholden to), is to treat traditionally non-headmaster characters as their normal selves in bot mode and pretend the Titanmaster figures that pilot vehicle mode are simply a type of holomatter avatar.

I've been able to come to terms with non-combiners being combiners easily enough, I don't foresee a problem with Titans Return. Toys are gonna get whacky, just how it goes. You can work yourself up all day long, but why not try to have some fun with it instead?

It's just a shame that internet prices get inflated. My best friend has been working on getting a full Menasor, now only needing Dead End.. but the cheapest one available is £23.. the RRP of a Voyager figure in the UK!
Have you considered ordering the TakaraTomy full sets (Unite Warriors) from the likes of HLJ or AmiAmi? Their prices are quite cheap but I've no idea what the shipping would be like from JPY to UK though... :-?

I have considered it, but unfortunately I can't afford to spend that much in a single purchase. Wish I could, as I would LOVE to get Bruticus as a complete set. I also expect it to be impossible to get the G2 Menasor and Superion reasonably in the uk.

Maybe you could try going to a convention, or maybe ask someone in the uk sightings thread to help you get them...

That is a fantastic idea, and I would honestly LOVE to get the opportunity to go to a con.. but sadly at the moment financially and physically it's not on the cards. The UK sightings board though, tomorrow I am going to be looking through!

Yeah, that'd be the place to go for finding these things, maybe if all you did was pay someone to mail them to you ;)^

If only.

They even have their own repaints into different characters and then another set of repaints that isn't just G2. I'd love an army of Seacons in any one of their three color schemes. I've already went on about how easy it would be to get EVERY beast combiner out of only a few base molds and retools. There's no excuse why we haven't gotten any yet.

I'm also a Brit, but unfortunately I do not even have a Toys R Us that is even viable to get to. :( all my recent generations purchases have either had to be from Ebay or B&M Bargains I was able to get Roadbuster and Rhinox.

Jeeze oh man, I go to work for a few hours and the whole place erupts while I'm gone! I can't keep holding you guys together ;)

Now to business:

1) It looks like someone is borrowing Cary's idea for the travelling man pictures to post, and I look forward to the Fort Max reveal. I am very excited for him.

2) The Generations version is a great mold that I love and to me is the IDW Brainstorm that I know and love. This will make for a better jet mode, but for me this guy is just a bonus as a Brainstorm lover.

3) I try to be kind and I try to show others respect. When I see someone has made a fair point, I respect that and make note of it. I also read a lot and keep up with stuff so I can intelligently be included in conversation. Blurr and Clocker are similar looking for the same reason, but saying hasbro copied a 3rd party is completely wrong. that only works the other way around for KO's. I do not "Pat on the back" unless there is reason to, and I was trying to talk to you reasonably. That's all.

4) Characters not being original headmasters has grown on me some. Galvatron is still a glaring example as the cartoon and IDW versions hate headmasters with a passion. However, I do really like what they are doing with the concept and they have some very unique ideas (such as Megs/Galvs and Twincast/Blaster). And I have a feeling that we will get the rest of the regular headmasters down the line, or at least the big ones (headmaster juniors is another story, but with them all being Lost Lighters who knows).

5) I cannot wait for the fair this weekend and to see all that they have coming.

That is all. Have a good evening folks! :D :BOT:

But now that you say it, Apex looks like a non-human version of Hi-Q. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Hi-Q

And is Orion Pax not obvious enough as Megatron (Nucleon) being Galvatron's Headmaster?

Considering that the figure is based on Powermaster Optimus Prime, in a line where all the little partner figures of the 1987 Headmaster characters are meant to be the very same little partners of those 1987 Headmasters, who else would Powermaster Optimus Prime's little partner be than Hi-Q (even if that name isn't being used) himself?

Prowl4@ you are entitled to your opinion but not expect others to agree with it or that yours is the only one that's right. Hasbro may base designs off the comics and idw but that's as far as they go, we may not understand their thinking but Hasbro has been known to work in mysterious ways.

But something's still not clear to me. When Apex/Hi-Q is now OP's Headmaster, who is Optimus then actually in that story/universe? I don't think that he will appear in that form in the comics because it's the same like with CW Cyclonus: How can Cyclonus and Galvatronus be the same character? Yes, Takara answered that with their UW version, but I think it's just a pretext to make a new version/toy of him. I have nothing against that but I can't really imagine a background story for him that fits to G1 or IDW until it's not something like the story about IDW Ultra Magnus and Minimus Ambus.

I think this is where the cw show (if it happens) is going to come into play, instead of expecting everything getting shoehorned into the comics :-?
