To the gesture of good will: How much do you wanna bet it's the Optimus Prime Evolution 2-pack (with chrome being mistaken for die cast)? If it is, nice gesture. I've seen similar ones on Consumer Service shows on the BBC.

Updated with picture, it had somehow escaped!

Huh, how about that. My opinion still stands, though but I still think the gestures of goodwill in the UK are way better than what we get here. All we get is letters of apology and (partial) reimbursement.

May well take TRU up on this offer actually-though I have heard a number of horror stories about their shipping in the UK...

Yeah, but at least here in the US we have all the US-based online retailers like ToyArena, BigBadToyStore and many others. In the UK the have all of one major online retailer that I'm aware of, namely KapowToys. One of my friends and fellow TF collectors lives in the UK and we always have the hardest time finding figures for him without him having to pay insane shipping fees and import fees on things that I can get here easily online without any such problems simply because the sellers are US-based. It's often similar on ebay, and likely for the same reason because the UK-based ebay sellers can't get them any easier than we can.

Kibble wrote:Wouldn't this have been more expensive from UK TRU than just importing the TT version anyhow?
The price tag was £59.99 so yeah it would have been cheaper to import most likely.
I(however misguided)though, am of the opinion that if Hasbro are actually going to bother to release something over here, then I will most likely buy it, even if it is more expensive. I figure that If I don't buy it, I have no right to complain when they don't put stuff out due to lack of sales.
For the record as far as the "Consolation Prize" goes. I got the email because I had used the "Alert me when available" function on the website. I just checked and Mastepiece Prowl has gone from the site so I don't know if anyone will be able to do it, if they hadn't already. To that end I feel it is my duty to buy something so I can get the "Prize".

I might be.
Please note my bitter attitude towards the mainland market as well. The consolation will not console the Dutch, only the English.

That small die cast figures were the same ones given out during the asian AOE toy launch event. At least for singapore it came free with purchase of the voyager prime/ grimlock 2 pack.

I got a BS response that they can't tell me anything concerning MP Prowl because that's sensitive information and if they gave me an answer it could leak out and their competition could use that information to screw them over.
Going to need to ask my uncle for help here then.

Wow, that's some first class BS. I can just imagine the line of competitors lining up to screw them over and how would anything we don't already know ( it's been cancelled ) effect them...unless they ARE planning to release it but realised that it was priced too high and are looking to re list it under a different price point.

How is it damaging to a business admitting to carrying the latest item in its own range of exclusives? And if the "inquire about our products" section of your customer service portal results in "yeah sorry, we don't like talking about our products", then why the hell do you even employ people for that section?

We've mirrored Darryl's screen capture of this listing below, also showing the $79.99 price point that the recent MPM-3 Bumblebee shared.
This is certainly good news for collectors and possibly evidence of more alignment in the global Masterpiece releases as has been seen in the Masterpiece Movie lineup, as we also now have confirmation, as we were writing this up, of the figure to appear thanks to site sponsor BigBadToyStore.. Let us know what you think of this in our Energon Pub Forums by replying to this post, and be sure to check out Giant Robot Comics (who we thank again for the tip!) if you're in Nova Scotia.

I'm pretty sure simple repaints are not going to take budget from the new mold department, their being made alongside other stuff not replacing them.
Plus I doubt we are going to see an MP Jazz and or Cliffjumper for that matter for a long time due to Porsche.

and besides they gave us bumble bee a VW bug so i say jazz and cliffjumper aren't too far behind

I heard Porsche is a lot more strict then VW is when it comes to these things.
What the hell would an MP Cliffjumper look like anyways? He's the one guy who doesn't fit with the whole "realistic" thing since he is a chibi version of a regular car.

That's how I think we'll see Cliffjumper. The MP will look just different enough that Takara won't need to get permission. With the possible US release of Prowl getting it went from nope to maybe.

Or for a better example just turn to Bumblebee. Problem is with Both CJ and Jazz being Porsches it would be strange having both a normal Porsche and a tiny Porsche in the same line. Bee worked fine since there are no big Beetles so he's fine as a one off.

Check them out mirrored below, and let us know if this appeals more to you than the regular version, and if you spot any differences from the last time the figure was seen in public here. The discussion awaits in the Energon Pub discussion boards!

I may still pick up Lavenderwave over the Deep Purple version only because the older one has been discounted by so many online retailers that it only makes sense to save the money and add him to my MP Decepticon shelf.

What did that slip cover look like? Well, below you will see that it is a black box that goes over the Japanese box. On the box is big bold white writing stating that what you are purchasing is the same as what is sold in Japan. This black box has both the Takara and Hasbro logos, something that is now customary in this new age of brand unification.
This gives you a very good idea of what we are to see for Hasbro's distribution of the upcoming Beast Wars Megatron Masterpeice figure along with MP-44 Optimus Prime version 3. The images were found on collectors.com and svadercollectionnables.com.

Indeed. If Peter Cullen voiced it, I would like it more, but eh. Now, my concern is the figure itself. If he doesn't have (at least) the same level of articulation and complexity as MP-36, I will be disappointed. Seriously, a figure of that price should be like that.

Agreed. Kind of pisses me off now that there's a battery pack and cables in it for no reason at all for me.

I wasn't going to get the original Prowl as I felt the cost did not equal to the size, but I had some extra money so I went for it. I loved it as I felt it walked right out of the cartoon. The more I see this + version I'm really contemplating dipping again.

That is an absolutely idiotic decision on their part.
