Looking forward to the inevitable shelf-warming!

Fawk it, I already ordered MP-11 and if I ever want Sunstorm, I'll just get the bloody Takara one so I wont have to deal with the usual bull that always come with the Hasbro releases.

I presume they'll get their own stock from TRU, somehow.Bounti76 wrote:I have to ask the obvious question.....how is this website offering pre-orders.....for a figure that's an exclusive at a brick-and-mortar retailer? I'm genuinely wondering.

If they do....doesn't that kind of defeat the point of making Sunstorm an exclusive? It's almost like they're buying up extra stock and selling him at a higher price, for extra profit. People do this on eBay and they're called scalpers.
I admit, I'm not the most knowledgeable about this practice, but it just doesn't sit right with me.

I would like to see a small change to the mold though, the flaps on the rear wheels on the jet should hinge the other way so the wheels are on the outside and not hidden away behind those flaps. Would make. A big difference to the look off the alt mode.

Hasbro, what have you done?!
Posted by Mindmaster on May 29th, 2014 @ 3:26pm CDT
His colors aren't perfect, but it's enough for me to recognize that it's Sunstorm. If I ever get the money, I'll definitely try and pick him up.

Aside from the shoulders, it's doesn't even look like any existing Sunstorm deco out there, let alone the BotCon one.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:That looks hideous!

And it may just be the quality of the image, but his yellow/gold/orange looks more like peach!

I didn't mind paying $75 for Thundercracker and Acid Storm. If this is an accurate picture, I will pass this up. Sad. Just sad.

The guys who post the news aren't always aware of everything, so if you see news that has yet to be reported, then report it. It takes more than merely posting news on here to get it noticed by the News staff. It needs to be submitted in order for the staff to catch wind of it the best way possible.KirbyForce1 wrote:Why did it take you so long to make a news post about this? As a true Starscream fan, I bought MP-03 ages ago and my MP-11 is on it's way. Why settle for a bizaroid repaint when you can get THE MAN himself?
Also, ugly yellow MP is ugly. I wouldnt buy it even if it came out locally.

surprisingly? ok... dunno if you know or not, but typically takara is superior at paint apps. and have you ever looked at takaras MP sunstorm? its stunning (i own one, couldnt be happier).welcometothedarksyde wrote:Well surprisingly the Takara version looks better IMO.

this is the first (blurry) shot... maybe he looks better...

its a great mold. ill buy him. hopefully... its not that bad...

- Generations Whirl and Roadbuster based more on their G1 toys and not as updated as other "Classics-style" toys
- G2/IDW-esque Generations Jhiaxus colored like the RiD toy.
- AOE Evolution 2-Packs using Energon Grimlock and the DOTM dino Mini-Cons
- G1 Strafe box art on the AOE Strafe Evolution 2-Pack to represent the G1 Swoop-esque toy
- Hero Mashers Heatwave based on the Shattered Glass Timelines toy instead of Rescue Bots Heatwave
- Walmart getting exclusive AOE redecos of Beast Wars molds from over a decade ago
- MP Sunstorm not colored like G1 Sunstorm

I didn't like Takara's Sunstorm deco, so I'm saying that I surprisingly like Hasbro's even less. I don't think I'm alone on that either. Takara's Sunstorm was controversially colored when it came out.

to be fair.. it was a member of TFW2005 who took this photo while he was at work (he works at TRU).. so, that would explain why.
plus, i think in the long run the news between seibertron and TFW even's themselves out.. sometimes one will get a story first, sometimes the other will.

Well I like the ugly repaint. Starscream fans don't have to collect Starscream only, I like collecting his repainted brothers and such.

Takara's isn't that much more faithful to it either (it went for cartoon-accuracy instead), but at least it's not hideous.

No kidding -- I'd be right in line to get those three or even Coronation Starscream, but neverending repaints of MP Thundercracker into "unofficial" characters is just a waste of time. Heck, I'd probably pay $20 for a solo Ratbat.

you find it odd that a company would try and save money buy releasing a repaint rather than a heavily remolded figure?.. all the while they have other new molds being released? it doesn't seem that odd to me.
i do agree though, i wish takara would get to the coneheads, they're long overdue and they would definitely beef up the masterpiece decepticons a bit.

I have a house rule to collect Thundercracker as well. However, I only buy him on sale, only in brick and mortar stores, and I keep them sealed. It's like having a double of screamers but I keep a legacy of how the packaging look in their given lines.
