If only Hasbro would be so kind to post on its YouTube channels the final episodes of season 1 in Italian... whose absence is made all the more frustrating by the presence of the whole second season.

FYI, having a character with a so-called Australian accent is just downright patronising.

AEC Jetfire was bad enough, Meteorfire is just an insult.
And don't get me started on a gender swapped Cosmos.

He's a loving tribute to Steve Irwin. There's nothing insulting about that.

While I agree on the matter of gender-swapped Cosmos, Meteorfire is an amazing tribute to an amazing man, in terms of his accent and general larger-than-life persona.

Also, is it just me, or do the writers ship Grim and Arcee? 'Cause I keep noticing all these times that Grimlock comes to her rescue, or vice versa.

Yes, it is. The way the Australian accent portrayed is patronising. You don't get to sit there and tell me otherwise. You're not Australian.

That wasn't a tribute, that was a mockery.

Not sure if I would use the word insulting but I wasn't a fan of the accent either.

If your going to make a character with an accent it's probably best to get an actor who naturally has that accent, from what research I was able to do on Rich Orlow he isn't Australian.

No matter what the intention was for the character the execution is what matters and if it comes off as stereotypical even if not intentionally then it's still slightly "rude".

Edit: Since people are talking about her...female Cosmos is whack, not bad per say nor do I dislike the take but changing their gender is a tad strange, probably could of used a different character

Like Path Finder who's pretty much female Cosmos, actually I wonder if that was partially the inspiration for the gender swap.

This does remind me on how much I dislike the whole thing with how they deal with faceplates or rather the lack of them in the show overall, Wheeljack, Grimlock, Cosmos, etc, Faceplates are great to give characters more facial diversion, I don't mind if they have actual faces under the faceplate and the plates were just battle/mission modes but still.

I abhor gender swapping the majority of the time.

I acknowledge that in a lot of franchises there's more male characters than female characters, and the general consensus is to take an existing male character and make them female.

To do that in Transformers though makes no sense as the last few years we've seen a number of new female characters created and older existing ones background characters becoming foreground characters. So I really have to question the need to gender swap Cosmos when they've done a good job of introducing new female characters in the last few years. Missed opportunity, as you said, Pathfinder could have been used.

Indeed, Gender Swapping works more for characters that are not really established in the first place, for example a better version of this whole thing is with Nova Storm since G1 Nova Storm the Rainmaker is a...non-character that it doesn't matter, then again apparently Cyberverse Nova Storm was originally male as well as potentially Skywarp according to concept art which explains why Skywarp didn't show up for the longest time...Only to also be gender swapped

Then again this Nova Storm only shares the name of the Rainmaker and pretty much nothing else besides being a Seeker so is it really a gender swap or just a nameinsert? (I have forgotten what the fan base calls it when a character has a traditional name but is nothing like the character like say Energon Ironhide)

This is jarring enough for Cosmos but what if that happened to bigger characters say Ironhide or Megatron, it would be even stranger right?

Strange? nah, just outright wrong. The only way it works is if the character has a defined history of being able to change genders.

Of course that brings up the whole debate that they don't have genders at all blah blah blah.

The episode though, was a low point in the season for me. I was able to put aside the gender swapping because the stereotyping was just glaringly in my face.

Overall the season was fantastic and Cyberverse is easily one of the best TF series (provided you ignore S1. )

Indeed, this season has really elevated the show for me after such an "eh" start, my problems with this one episode is mostly nitpicky at worse.

I'm just grateful to have another Transformers show with loads of characters and hope future shows keep on going with it, I like how big the Netflix show cast seems to be as well even if it turns out most of those characters are not important, bigger number of characters including generics makes the world feel more alive to me as well as being able to have more stakes because we all know that no Transformers show is going to off more then one or two main cast members.

I like that it gave twists to existing characters as well, like Perceptor being blinded but Daredevilling his way around.

But most of all, I like that we finally got Maccadam (Macca-dam not Macc-Adam dammit!). For so long he's been a part of TF mythology but we never got to meet him until this series, and they did a great job of bringing him to life.

Indeed! All very good things, I enjoyed seeing Perceptor once again in a show and Maccadam was indeed a treat, I personally liked how much of a presence Starscream and Perceptor had not to mention a lot of the season 3 cast like Dead End!

This show wasn't perfect or anything but it sure was fun! I think entertainment is the more important factor then quality not that the latter isn't important in cases but if I had to sacrifice one it would be the latter.

You know, it just occurred to me that Blind Perceptor, by including him in the show, they're essentially adding a disabled character.

This is inclusiveness.

And it wasn't forced, it wasn't in your face, it just was. It seemed normal, natural even.

That's a sign of good writing. Many other shows that are trying to be inclusive could learn a thing or two from this show.

Rid15 had the first bot to be deaf and use "cybertronian sign language". Not sure if it felt forced or not, since its been so long since I watched the episode.

What I really came here to talk about however is a subject that I am a sucker for, and that is numbers ;) . I may be a little off, but by my count (even though I haven't watched since part way through season 2...)

But the episode Enemy Line is officially the 1000th overall episode of Transformers in franchise history! No small accomplishment to be sure. Now of course, that does take into account that several of the recent series have restructured to an 10/11 minute format, thus it would take 2 episodes to equal what used to be just one. I have an adjusted number for that as well.

If we calculate all of Cyberverse (season 1-3 as being *done* even though not all episodes have aired in all countries yet).... I am considering RBA Academy S2 as the current running tally.

The most recent episode scheduled for April 25th "My Favorite Rescue" will complete the 934th "full" episode overall

Just a little look back at history:

Episode 1: MTMTE Part 1 (1984)
Episode 100: Headmasters Episode 1 Four Warriors Come out of the Sky (1987)
Episode 200: Victory Episode 23 Struggle at the South Pole (1989)
Episode 300: BWII Episode 26 Enter Lio Junior! (1998)
Episode 400: Car Robots/Rid Episode 22 Gelshark's a Good Guy?/ "Sky-Byte Saves the Day" (2000/2001)
Episode 500: Energon Episode 31 Bulkhead (2005)

*IN Japan there was a special episode later that was supposed to celebrate the 500th episode entitled "Distribution* Which was incorporated to the regular series count when aired on Cartoon Network

Episode 600: Animated Episode 27 Sari, No One's Home (2008)
Episode 700: Rescue Bots Episode 20 Countdown (2012)
Episode 800: Rid15 Episode 5 WWOD (2015)
TRUE Episode 900: Cyberverse 55 Thunderhowl/56 Wild Wild Wheel (2020)
TRUE Episode 1000: TBD

Now of course my numbers are a bit subjective. I grouped them by series, rather than actual air date, which might change the outcomes a bit. But to arrange them all by airdate , especially when you have multiple series going on at the same time, sometimes in multiple countries isn't impossible, its just not an undertaking I've had the time to take on.

Also my numbers may be subjective in that, while I included the Machinima series and Transformers GO!, I did not include things such as :

Go-Bots, Robotmasters, Transformers: Cyber Missions, or Q-Transformers. I also did not include Nezha since information on it seems to be very limited at this time.

Pretty sure that Blastwave's deal in RID was being mute like Bumblebee once was rather then being deaf.

Though, unlike Bumblebee, Blastwave's muteness was given no explanation (treated only as his natural state of being), with his speaking in sign language being his default form of communication.

Although, he could make grunting and groaning noises, but was incapable of forming actual words.

I just found a bunch of the episodes in English all the way up to 26! I've only watched until 18; but right after the beginning of season 3, Cyberverse gets WAAAAY better. It's definitely in my top 3 animated TF series now, only behind G1 and Prime. There's an awful lot of big TF lore being put squarely in this series.

And finally an animated version of one of my favorite IDW bots who got ignored in G1...... :D

OK, so I had some free time and decided to watch a bit of season 3 since some folks have been raving about it. The Battle For Cybertron 4-part story was actually decent I must say. Optimus still pronounces incorrectly "Teletron", but everyone else seems to say it correctly, maybe they don't have the heart to tell him.... ;)

Also I heard something I never thought I'd hear again.... Quin tessins'. Haven't heard that since the english audio of the Japanese Transformers game for PS2  . You think someone on the staff would have seen TF:TM, or the original series season 3...but whatever...

Then things really got 8-| I'm only doing spoilers because it appears this hasn't been released on CN or Youtube, or maybe it has...I cant keep track...but anyways They blatantly ripped of The Matrix (the overrated 1999 sci-fi film, not the Autobot One just to be clear), and Hotrod is Neo. Nothing that happened in that 4 parter actually happened, or at least perhaps not all of it, sometime after Hotrod took a bath with Drift, the Quin tessins' took over for some unexplained reason...

It may pan out, it may not as this series is famous for leaving huge unexplainable gaps.

That's also how Simon Furman pronounces it, so it might just be a non-American English thing, since Boulder Media is based in Ireland.

And don't forget that the word "Quintesson" is only spoken once in TFTM and by Kranix's very muffled voice. The cartoon barely aired in the UK, so the comics were the dominant G1 media over there, in which the Quints' name was present in non-audio text form only. Kids over there likely read the word and, not unreasonably, thought it was pronounced like the very similar word "quintessence".

o.supreme wrote:It may pan out, it may not as this series is famous for leaving huge unexplainable gaps.
You mean "one huge unexplainable gap", that being the gap between seasons 1 and 2. Everything else gets filled in.

And as for "ripping off" a certain movie, this show did it better since it has none of that movie's pretentiousness forced down our throats and just goes for a fun story about a ragtag band of freedom fighters who are as much misfits with each other as the Beast Wars Maximals were.

The Transformers Official Youtube Channel has provided us with some more stop motion fun, as today, the channel has uploaded a video of the Transformers Cyberverse Season 3 trailer, but with the characters with toys edited in using stop motion!

The trailer is a mirror of the original Season 3 trailer, which can be found here, but it has removed most the characters who received toys over the past few years and replaced them with their toys. What's interesting to note is that this stop motion version of the trailer includes new toys such as the Ultra Class Rack n' Ruin, but characters like Cheetor still appear as he did originally despite having a toy. Also, the new deluxe class figures are not used, with those characters having their Warrior or Ultra Class figures used instead.

Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below. Also, check out the first 4 episodes of the Season, titled "Battle for Cybertron", which has been uploaded as a feature length single episode below!

Hasbro has finally put Episode 5, "The Loop", on YouTube.

This is the proper first episode of Season 3, whereas the previous four were more like the proper finale to Season 2.

Cyberverse seems like s filler line with a filler cartoon. Bang together a dollar-store toyline from the G1 Evergreen designs (they're basically Authentics), and knock out a cartoon where lots of stuff happens yet none of it of any real consequence, handled bizarrely, like the Seekers.
Exactly how far into Cyberverse are you? Cuz it sounds like you've only watched Season 1 and maybe a little of Season 2.

While Season 1 was just okay, Season 2 was really good and Season 3 is balls to the walls amazing!

All the way through to the end.

No, they are citizens of Iaconus

But how can that be their name if Iaconus is a Titan at that point, rampaging everywhere.

Citizens lived inside Titans, Titans protected their Citizens.

Citizens lived inside Titans, Titans protected their Citizens.

To add, the Titan wasn't the only thing running around, they had full populations that served to maintain them, populate them, and provide a ground army around the Titan.

A lot of things related to your first question are also explained in later episodes, with an important note made in the 2nd to last episode

I am just really confused right now. In that episode it looked like it was their first time facing Iaconus. Then they beat it and lived in it. At least that is how the show made it sound to me (I have yet to watch past this).

You mean in that first scene? They were fighting those alien bug people. Iaconus then stomps down on the enemy (almost stepping on his Citizens too since he is anything but graceful) and Maccadam chants his name like a battle cry with a big smile on his face.

Yeah, they were fighting with Iaconus, not against him. They were battling that alien species. Not really sure how that was confusing
