Thanks to our own AutobotMR2 we now know that site sponsor BigBadToyStore has posted preorders for the upcoming first wave of Generations FOC Deluxes. This wave includes Optimus Prime, Jazz and Shockwave. The most important part of this news is the estimated May release date! Looks like we won't have to wait too much longer for our FOC figure fix!
Update: Transformers Prime RID Deluxe Wave 4 featuring Airrachnid, Bumblebee V2, and Dead End has also been listed for preorder:

Not a problem. And yeah, distribution around here has sucked, so got them. *Sigh*

I'm surprised by the case assortment, though. 3 OPs, 3 Jazzes, and 2 Shockwaves? That's too even and makes too much sense. It should be 5 Bumblebees, and 1 of each of the others.
Right??!!! Maybe Hasbro has actually listened to us. If this is a sign of change in the distribution practices of Hasbro I fully welcome it.

I disagree.....they should ONLY have bumblebees in every case. It's the new fad/craze, move over planking, move over cat daddy-ing....here comes Corporate Trolling!

Are you saying you only have one version of each character in your collection? Like, you only have one Shockwave, one Bumblebee, one Optimus, etc.?

if you don't include mold repaints like the seekers and the prowl molds, then yes that is exactly what I mean. The only ones I could even think of are my 2 Masterpieces, Grimlock and Hot Rod. Evrything else is one version of one character. I'm very finicky with my collection, which is and is not my own fault. Having a family and a limited income for Transformers causes me to be very picky on which figures go on my shelf. I wish I could go and buy every TF that came out, just not in the cards for me.

Have you never shopped there before? Aside from clearance sales, everything at BBTS is priced higher than retail. You're paying for the convenience of preordering.

I'm going to try and wait for these at retail. If they're the first wave of the series they shouldn't be that hard to get. I might skip on Prime too because he looks nowhere near as cool as the WFC version, which I already have.

craggy wrote:still amazed that that Prime is so terrible. It's like they took the great design from the first game, made an 8-bit version of it, and then got a kid to draw it in crayon, then photographed the drawing from space, and used that as the blueprint for this character model.
They probably just made him easier to transform than the WFC version. That thing was a pain in the @ss!
The only one I am interested in is Shockwave. I need him for the Classics shelf.

I was going to put a laughing smiley and say you're being ridiculous, but now you mention it, it does speak volumes that he's not in the first or second waves (as far as we know).
As far as these three go, I may get a version of Shockwave as he'd fit well in a classics line-up, but no way I'm spending money on Optimus or Jazz.

That is a stupid rule, i learnt the hard way after missing TFA Bumblebee, Starscream, and Classics prowl, Megatron, Starscream... It took a great deal of effort to hunt back classics prime and bee, and animated jazz...

There's really no need for a Bumblebee. As far as I can tell, the same character model from WFC is being used in FOC. They could repack him for FOC, but if they're smart, they won't. lol

Aww, but I wanted a battle damaged nearly-dead Bumblebee like in the trailer *sad face*

I think it's an admirable rule, one my wallet wishes I could stick to. Of course, even as I look around I can see a couple of Bees, and Megatrons and 3 Optimus Primes, and that's just the stuff I have out right now. I'm a bit of a sucker for different scales and styles at times.
Do sort of wish that if there had to be one short-packed figure in this wave that it wasn't Prime though. He's my least favourite (of this line, and possibly one of my least favourite looking Primes ever) and really, a lot of people who are likely to buy these figures likely already have far more Optimi than they do good versions of Jazz or Shockwave. Can't really blame BBTS for not wanting warehouses of excess Optimus Prime figures though, so the set thing makes sense.
Interesting point about there being no Bumblebee. He does look the same as the WFC one so it's sort of understandable that they're not releasing him this early. Wouldn't be surprised by a repack of the first version of him (with or without battle-damage) especially since that's the form he has in the current IDW comics as well.

Same. At least on wanting it. Lol. still deciding about keeping the pre-order. Probably will, all but talked myself into it at this point.
Something about the simplicity of his design is making it really appealing for me too. Probably comes from the same end of my mind that is burnt out over the movie-verse complexity.
It's different enough to interest me. If he looked too much like the first everyone would complain it was a clone.

No, it states July for Kapow. However, that region tends to receive figures after we do. If BBTS changes the expected date, we'll let everyone know.

Hopefully the fans in Europe and Canada get some love from Hasbro and actually get to see these figures in stores at a decent timeframe.
If they're anything like the FE's Canada will get them first (outside Asia I mean). Haha.
Definitely hope they get over to Europe in a timely manner though.
So here's to hoping the pre-order dates are accurate! Would certainly be nice to see an array of new 'Formers on the shelf. The DOTM stuff needs an eviction notice xP

An extermination team is more like it. When I saw that my local Wal-Mart had put out fresh cases of Murderbee's wave, to cash in on the $7.27 rollback, I about fainted. The pegs are just loaded with that dumbass and his casemates.
EDIT:

Unless his redesign is as extensive as Prime's is, I doubt it. It's entirely possible, sure, but more likely we'd just see a repack/redeco to fill that 40 figure number we were promised.

Don't misunderstand me, I have no desire to see another Bumblebee on the pegs either. But it'd really surprise me if the money spinners at Hasbro don't push to turn our toy aisles yellow.

Haha. No, no, don't worry. I think its a given most people would be happy to see Bee vanish (or at least have the number of representations significantly cut), but, as you said, Hasbro is milking him for all he's worth.
We'll jsut have to wait and see what they do with the little bugger.

TorontosVeryOwn wrote:Thinking about pre-ordering the case of 3 set, can anybody tell me if its worth it to upgrade to collectors grade for 6.00 dollars more? or is standard grade just as fine... 47.99 vs 53.99
In my experience with BBTS the "collectors" thing is kind of a touch and go joke. The upgrade just means they make sure you get near-mint box, but usually you get one anyway. They pack really well too (dunno if you've ordered from them before). Only once did they send me a figure (FE Cliffjumper no less) with enough packing tape wrapped around his box (yes, the box itself) to keep the Titanic afloat. FE Bulkhead, who was in the same shipment was pristine however, so go figure. That's the only time they sent me something that was just dumb. Otherwise everything has arrived in good shape.
