*sigh*

Disappointed that they didn't try to emulate either of his powerlink features.

Henkei Hot Shot does seem to look slightly better, although some flaws are impossible to correct on this mold, Henkei or not.

In terms of fiddliness and parts popping off-ery, how does he compare to Galvatron?alldarker wrote:I have Universe Hot Shot, and to be honest, even with the JaAm plate, he really is quite terrible. Car mode is ugly, no actual powerlink features, robot mode looks pretty good but holds together badly, Jolt is very back heavy in 'bot mode... Not much good to say about this mold except the plate.

as far as powerlinking goes, you can mimic his gripper claws but as they aren't automatic it is disappointing.
As far as being top heavy with Jolt, I haven't had any issues possing him or displaying him with Jolt linked to his shoulder.
It would be nice to have the weapons in bot mode but for vehicle mode i'd rather have JaAm than fart cannons.

Is it possible to put the Henkei cannons on the Universe toy, does anyone know?

One of the pictures shows cutout present on the Henkei rear bumper that are not present on the HASBRO one. Thus you probably could not, unless the launchers are contained entirely under the car, and only the 'flame' part goes past the bumper.

I doubt those launchers would fit. From that image it looks like the tip of the lancher is sitting almost flush to the back end, clearly enough that they extend right into the remoulded area on the universe one. Unless they can be stored backwards, but that would serve zero purpose.

I just have one question though...when the bloody hell are these figures going to be released. I preordered (and fully paid for) Henkei Hot Shot and Henkei Dinobot way back in December. Since then, I've seen pictures, but haven't heard a single thing about when they play on releasing these figures. I'm starting to get a tad impatient.

I for one am glad they didn't, because both of them were pretty dumb. Then again, I was never really fond of the 'need a minicon to even USE weapon' gimmick in the first place.
It sucks that the Henkei version gets guns but the US version doesn't. I'd take the projectiles out in car mode for just the exhaust pipe effect though.

Generally joints are tighter on Henkei. Can't speak for this figure.OPTIMUS MAGNUS wrote:Damn. Now I gotta get Henkei Hot Shot. He looks so much better with the gray feet and bumper. I actually like the little bit of chromage too. Anyone know if the joints are tight or floppy on the Henkei vs. Universe?

They were supposed to be released last Thursday, but they're conspicuously absent from Japanese store shelves.

But the mold and character aren't really good enough to warrant import prices... hmm.

The minor details arent very different. I hate the blue fore arms on U Hot Shot, but the legdeatil is a little nicer than the Henkei version.
I do have extra weapons, so if I get a u Hot Shot, I will open him up, and keep my Henkei version sealed.
But with those pipe guns, and with that missing plastic for them to be use as exhaust, I may have both open.
