Wow, a G2 figure that actually looks nice instead of a garish color. WONder of WONders, MIRacle of MIRacles.

Its another day, so its time for another piece of G2 Defensor! Part 3 has been posted by z75sales, which features Groove. Someone at Hasbro must have looked at Wreck-Gar and thought "man.. orange motorbikes are cool, we need more than that, only EXTREME'ER" resulting in our bright biker here. Scroll down to see the flamboyant Protectobot, or click here for Part 1 (First Aid), and Part 2 (Blades). While I have no desire to own a G2 Defensor, I'm super stoked that we're getting decent pics of it and the members after all these years.

Interesting how many of the G2 figures didn't think putting the team logo onto the figures was enough. No, let's make it even more obvious by putting big labels on them that say directly what team they're on. 'AUTOBOT!'

And the day-glow colors.... uy.

Awesome! WE can all see why these were not a good idea at the time, maybe? But now, with FunPub's interest in creating updated versions of rare, obsure, characters and toys, or toys that only made it to the planning stage, I'm hoping that it is only a matter of time before they pounce on these sure money grabs.

Maybe he doesn't fit in on Earth, but on some other planet, or in the 1980's Earth? Perhaps...

I really do like Blades colors. Blinding rotor blades, and a nice dark blue for the rest.

I think Streetwise has my favorite color scheme in the G2 P-bots. Can't wait to see him again.

Apparently, by Generation 2, the Autobots had completely given up on that "Robots in Disguise" concept. As if to completely defy the concept of anonymity, most of these guys have THEIR NAMES emblazoned on their alt modes, robot mode, or both. Did Hasbro think kids were going to constantly forget the names of their toys? Or maybe it's about the 90's being a time of shameless and unironic self-promotion for everyone.

I wouldn't be surprised if a few online outlets like BBTS didn't jump on the chance to put out some exclusive "G2" sets of the current Combiner Wars offerings, a la the G2 Bruticus from FoC Bruticus a few years ago. Hasbro, make it so!

Very cool to see.....my only nitpick is this....why is Groove's head not fully retracted in motorcycle mode? It's just sitting on the ground like a kickstand, when it can collapse into his body to allow the front wheel to be flush with the cycle.

I thought about that too. Maybe he/she doesn't know it can collapse back, or maybe she/he thought it was a kickstand!

It seems that yesterday z75sales was pressed for time and wasn't able to put up Part 4, but here he is now: Streetwise! The Autobot cop may have been a tad envious of Sideswipes G2 deco, and opted for black instead of his traditional white. And while its not very 90's extreme, it does turn out rather handsome. Can't wait to see the combined. These images are something some of us have waited for for a long time!

It's cool to see them in this detail, and I'm certainly clicking and viewing and taking them in. That said, after all this time I'm not sure what else there is to say about them that hasn't already been said outside of things like holy crap, First Aid would have been another GPS bot.

Time for some more unreleased G2 goodness with z75sales, tonight's feature being Hotspot! The red is actually quite fitting for a fire truck, but comes full circle with the wonderful 90's neon orange. If you missed the previous galleries you'll find them right here:
Part 1 (First Aid)
Part 2 (Blades)
Part 3 (Groove)
Part 4 (Streetwise)
There's only one thing left to after this: unite! But until then see part 5 below, and stay tuned to Seibertron.com: home for the best Galleries and Conversation around!

I think it would be printing money, especially if they decided to do a platinum or re-issue of the originals with the club or something. It would be amazing if they did something.

I actually think Hot Spot doesn't look horrible. From brief odd pictures we'd barely seen around I thought it would be worse. I don't hate it, but it is G2 odd for sure.

At least this is a total redeco. Operation: Combination Fire Chief still had parts cast in the original light blue of G1 Hot Spot:

The orange and red do go together, but the teal chest sticks out like a sore thumb. Worse, there are no other part cast or painted in the same color to offset it. But that's G2 for you :)

G2 combiners would be printing money if they were CW or original reissues. For the life of me I don't know why they haven't tried reissues yet. Seriously, IMAGINE people clamoring over an official release of the real G2 Menasor and Defensor. :michaelbay:
