Coming across all sorts of cancelled product! Here's a Megatron Exclusive that got cancelled before sculpts were done. Using the Galvatron body we were gonna do a G2 style Megatron. I designed a new head based on the IDW Megatron mini series and a new sword based on the original Takara Megatron. Would have been cool.
In the same wave we would have done a Trigger-Happy using the awesome Cyclones mold with a new head. The head shape needed to fit into the transformation but would have places the quad cannons on either side of the nose cone. Man this guy woulda been boss!!

You owe me a proper Galvatron, Hastak! Internetrage!

And yes galvatron or gal stop as my iPad corrected me did suck.. Don't mind his look but his size and transformation made him a shitty addition compared to many others cyclones in fact was one of my fave releases.

Triggerhappy would have been a real curveball, choosing the Cyclonus mold was excellent given the overall shape and the wings:
Plus, having an opportunity to give him Blowpipe should have pushed at least that one through. Shame it wasn't.

Holy S***. How did I not see that?
Though there would have to be some remolding unless they want to make Triggerhappy part of the seeker gang.

Which makes me wonder: what line were those canceled ideas meant for? I'm guessing before Generations FoC.

It would have been simplicity itself to take that jet design and re-do his figure with the same mold as the FoC Seekers. That looks an awful lot like my Thundercracker from that line. Certainly would have been a hundred times better than recycling Cyclonus for that. Glad they didn't release that figure.
Also glad they didn't update the G2 Megatron. The Galvatron mode would have been horrible for him. I see no reason why they couldn't have kept the tank style the same as his G2 incarnation and just given him better articulation. Oh, yeah, that's right. That would have involved effort. Can't have Hasbro ditching their pattern of lazy repaints now can we?

Maybe they were proposed for the Universe line itself, but came too late in the game to get any progress on them.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Which makes me wonder: what line were those canceled ideas meant for? I'm guessing before Generations FoC.

It's been done as a custom before. They chopped Jazz's forehead and Bumblebee's jaw to make a toy accurate head. But I would much rather have the cartoon accurate faceplate.

RiddlerJ wrote:Triggerhappy would've been interesting, but I'm not lamenting the lost of the Megatron figure. That Galvatron Mold was awful.
Yep. It was apparently originally designed as a voyager with a third mode, and they really did a terrible job downsizing it (assuming it would have good as a voyager in the first place) and removing the third mode (some, but not all, of the parts of which are still on there for no purpose on the two remaining modes). Remolding that into Megatron would have just been a disaster.

QFT, and it doesn't even matter if you are talking about G1 or Clasics/Generations...
(I own the G1 figure, and while fun in it's own way, it resembles cartoon Galvy in a very important way:
not at all...)

You can make an unofficial dual-barreled cannon mode out of it if you wanted to. Similar in transformation the G1 figure.Agamemnon wrote:Sabrblade wrote:

Close, but no cigar. A proper Galvatron has a proper backside. The wings are a no-go. I love that toy, but my mind insist on it being Megatron.

Yeah, but they were '88 double targetmasters. I want more '87 style. Nightstick was awesome, but you can't just repaint him over and over. Give the full size targetmasters some love!

As well as Aimless, Blowpipe, Peaceman, and Firebolt in the Arms Micron line (despite still being PCC molds and Firebolt intended to go with United Rodimus Prime).

I only remembered him because I saw him on Ebay and am prepping for my CLoud Crosshairs aquisition.
