Well that was quick. We have news that Transformers G1 Hasbro reissues of minibots Gears and Warpath have been found at retail. Reddit user Webzphotomania found then at a Utah Walmart. They were priced at $7.86. The only other minibots present were the ones from the previous wave, meaning that Gears and Warpath are not packed with any other minibot we did not know of yet.
If you have found them, share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.
Out of all the G1 reissues we know so far that are coming out this year, the only one left to appear is Soundwave so let us know if ever you find him.

Don’t just check in the aisle. I was at a Walmart Friday and didn’t see anything new and was leaving only to turn around and saw a Bumblebee drop bin with all wave one minibots. Snagged 2 Bees and an Outback. I remember getting outback as a present when I was 4 so he had a lot of sentimental value. Honestly I think he’s the only minibot I had when I was a kid till G2 started and I got G2 Bee

Interesting. Does this same store have shelf space set aside in the Transformers section or was this the only place they made room for them? One of my local Walmarts had the big movie display with these and now has four pegs set aside for them (currently containing two leftover Swerves) while the other Walmart never got the display or the figures and doesn't have peg space set aside. I didn't notice a bin when I was there Sunday but maybe I should have looked harder?

Walmart’s are currently doing new mod sets and the transformers section is pretty big now.

Both of my Walmarts have done their resets. The one with the Mini-Bots has a large TF section, but the one that doesn't got a small section. And it's odd because the latter store is supposed to be the flagship store for the area right in the capital, yet the toy department as a whole is pretty small. Especially after they removed an entire aisle last year for clearance space only to turn it into seasonal overflow this year and then take another toy aisle this year for new clearance space. *shrug*

his barrel was chipped so maybe this is a good excuse to replace him. Use to love using him to defend metroplex as he was the only minibot I had besides scamper and scramble city limbs...

The minibots were also in one of drop bins at my local store, at least when they were first stocked. The leftovers from that are making their way to isle, but those are slim pickings.
I wish I'd know that Hot Rod would be a self warmed. I saw him on clearance at one of the walmarts for $7.00

Where are you, and what Walmarts do you speak of? All of the Walmarts I ghost for TFs across two counties and four municipalities have Transformers sections that are about two pegs wide, with the voyagers/leaders six feet away under Star Wars toys. Of course, that's only if they actually have any in stock and all of the pegs read for the Siege line.
I'm starting to switch to Targets now since they're at least keeping pegs for Studio Series.

Well that is exciting news that's bad for my wallet. Might have to jump at SW and his minions now.

This rerelease is a deep loss for all FIRRIB fans. However! We will not back down! Has long as / are still around, this fight shall never be over!
Shhh, no one mention that the original toys were exactly like this, as that would prove that FIBRIR was the original idea.

Damnit! I was gonna do just that after seeing all the comments! Yeah, this is nothing new. The G1 Hasbro releases always followed RIRFIB. It's the G1 cartoon that first gave us RIBFIR. Since then, Hasbro releases have alternated between the two naming schemes, fueling the fires of the debate. Takara has always remained loyal to RIRFIB, though, and even swapped the names back for Japan's release of the G1 cartoon a year later. Since this "Vintage G1" line is trying to emulate the original releases as much as possible, right down to how Soundwave and his minions were bundled and sold, it makes sense that Hasbro would retain the original RIRFIB naming scheme for this line.

I still say to this day, G1 Ravage is one of the most elegant Transforming toys ever made.cruizerdave wrote:You know, I find that I don't like any of the cassettes as well as those originals. Even the masterpiece versions come up short when compared to those in my mind. I don't know why. I mean they've updated virtually every character from G1 in one form or another and created superior toys ... except those guys. They're just neat. Glad to see them coming back!

There's a pattern, but it's inconsistent. The main players in this war are either in team toy or team toon.Wolfman Jake wrote:Damnit! I was gonna do just that after seeing all the comments! None of that contradicts what I said at all, actually. Takara Tomy has always done it RIRFIB, and Hasbro switches back and forth. Where I take offense, though, is in the name of that JPEG. Everyone knows their proper couple name is "Rumbzy!"

Yeah, I am with you there. These seem awesome and I always wanted a G1 ravage but I am weary on the price. Also, because these will be really sought after, I fear that I will have to pay that high price (if its high) just to ensure I get them. I am hoping for a $20 CAD or less price point.

Maybe they'll do Enemy, or do the actual version of Frenzy that came with Ratbat which was the cheap version with plastic feet instead of die-cast, but came with the gold weapons.

I'd love to see them have some fun with this and do a Wing-thing (orange Ratbat) with Enemy 2-pack. That would be awesome. And a Howlback and Garboil 2 pack would be awesome as well. They could do endless Cassettes!
Though I'd really love to see Hasbro release Slamdance and Squawkbox at long last, who have never been reissued. I thought we'd get reissues of them long before we'd ever see "reissues" of the Dinosaur cassettes.

What I'm most sorry about, though, is that my response distracted you from my main intent in replying, to make my "Rumbzy" joke!
