Further Images - Takara Transformers Masterpiece MP-22 Ultra Magnus

Looks better; I like the new screaming face and the pictures of Daniel and Spike.

The more I see photos of him, the more I want him!

The picture on the far right shows the shoulder angle articulation. Is the shoulder on a ball joint or hinge? Doesn't seem to angle too much though

He just keeps looking better and better to me. I'm really looking forward to this release.

i wonder how those windows will look on the fully painted finished product. theyd have to be translucent red to blend in to the red chest piece for it to blend properly like the toon version.

please.. PLEASE just release magnus, bumblebee, and wheeljack already!.. then PLEASE announce that galvatron, cyclonus, scourge, hot rod, and megatron V2 are on deck!

I wouldn't mind if they release them all at once as soon as possible, but my wallet would have a hard time keeping up!

Yet, I do hope that next year, Jazz will be released...

its just probably using the head of the existing mold from optimus prime which will be covered by ultramagnus's face and helmet to save money and to show the face change gimmick not meant to show another smaller white robot

I am less psyched about MP Ultra Magnus compared to Wheeljack and Bumblebee. The more pictures I see of him, the more I am unsatisfied with the proportions and some of the designs. Overall, I think he is a pretty good figure, but there are better qualities about Wheeljack and Bumblebee - making them stellar.

Just wait for the color pics SR. I believe you won't be sorry.

:BOWDOWN: I for one love this model of the Ulta him self and to top it off they him as he was in the G1 cartoon one Robot not two modes. The butt flap does not worry me at all cause it still looks great over all. Plus this is just the prototype and all ready from the last post of the Mp they made some more changes to it that is great >:oP . I do hope that they would reconsider remaking a Hot Rod in scale before he was given the matrix of leadership and that we may be able to put Dainal in the cock pit of hot rod. But you know what....the one transformers masterpiece I wish they would try and make....is Arcee this is one transformer that was never made other than the 3rd party one.

He certainly is stocky. Maybe it's just the angle of the photograph, but he doesn't seem proportionally tall.

That is the most well-articulated brick I've ever seen.

The colors on Ultra Magnus has been chosen very well. Although he is a bit thicker the last time I have seen him. Like what Nemesis Maximo said, it could just be the angle.

As others have said something looks kind of off with this figure. To me it looks kind off different than the prototype shown before. I guess it's just this ongoing dream of mine that hopefully there is a Generations model of Magnus coming out that maybe nobody knew about in addition to the MP and this was it. Then I could do my happy dance.

Yeah, I'm starting to think it's not he figure itself that's the problem, but the angle, the lighting, the pose it's put in, and the distance away from the figure that pics were taken.

These are far from high quality photos, coupled with an ill-positioned pose.

His legs are too wide apart makes him look wider. taking a picture of the of anything looking down makes it look short. so yes someone please take a got damn better picture! before more people feel the need to make another fat joke. =X

Hi res pics tend to be.......Hi res than actual reality. I'd best suspend judgement until you actually get hold of the fig. Same issue with Tomy Sandstorm. In pics, he looked too bright yellow orange when in reality, not that orangey.

Not blown away by Ultra Magnus, shall wait for better piccys but he does look blocky. Hopefully some detailing on the legs will be added to break up those massive clumps of single colours.

I do like the grey/purple version in the background, even though it is a proto.

Encouraging that it shows a large pull-out of shoulder joint.

It looks to me like the angle combined with all the dark shapes in the background could be making him look a little more stalky and fat in the midsection than the prototype pics.....I'm still stoked;)

At this juncture, I think my problem with MP-22 is that he's so bulky, it looks like there should be a small white robot in there.

Have you seen citizen Stack? its a stack of Sh*t. Check it out some none section reviews where the reviewer isn't getting it for free.

Why didn't the designers make the white ramps rotate to the knee cap? It looks strange the way it is and seems like such an easy design adjustment.

Well, as no one has reviewed this yet, it's not a fair comparison. My argument of pricing still stands.

How can Takara/tomy continue to price masterpieces the way they do when a smaller company with fewer resources can price it nearly the same?

In the argument I'm making it doesn't matter that Stack is better. It's that it is third-party and comparable in price.




And anyway, the MP-22 looks like a big brick o' sh*t to me. I'm sorry but if official companies really can't improve on cost and design then they should just let third party companies design these things and use their infrastructure to mass-produce them. Then we will get good toys at good prices.
