The Transformers Universe YouTube channel has uploaded extended bio videos for the previously teased warriors Catapult and Shellshock. Additional images and technical data for each can be found by visiting the Transformers Universe website. We've embedded the videos below:

Catapult moves in the shadows with the strut of a notorious gunslinger and reads cross-winds like a circling hawk.

Place Catapult at long range with her Phase Chamber primed, sniper rifle cocked and license-to-terminate activated; she'll drop her mark grill-down in the dirt for keeps. A mysterious loner, the only trace this Autobot exists is a tag scratched into every 'Con she dispatches to the scrapyard.

Retirement was never one of Shellshock's plans: he's been holed up in his armory feverishly waiting for the call.

Faceplate-deep in munitions and customizing his beloved miniguns, he ensured burst rates, muzzle velocities, calibers and cartridges all got a little love. A career killer, you won't have to ask him twice to rejoin the fight. Put this slayer in mid-range with a directive for destruction and Shellshock will have a blast every time.

All you really need is an internet browser. You clearly have one.

A PC browser??? No I don't have that.
I tried to sign up for the beta testing and was denied because I use a Mac like the rest of half the world.
Its only PC users.
Ive played other MMO's that cater to both PC users and Playstation users and Im always reading in other forums that the PC community is barren compared to the Playstation community.
So yes….. a limited audience.

PrymeStriker wrote:Jagex produced RuneScape, one of the largest MMO games in the world with over 200 million accounts. You call that a small audience?

Well this isn't Runescape, this is Transformers.
And even though the film franchise has been a global success, people who sit down and actually play Transformer games is a completely different story.
People who play TF video games are a very particular crowd. As it is right now no one hardly plays WFC, FOC or any of the film games anymore except the same damn 20 people. Trust me I know. I see the same names all the time when I log on to play any of those games.
Because once the game is completed there is nothing else left to do.
But now they finally made an MMO where you have the chance to progress through endless levels (I assume) so you would think they would make a game like this open to all so as to get the most out of the TF fan base.

did you buy your fancy mac to play games on? because the "rest of half the world" didn't because they realised that only a tiny fraction of games get released on macs.

oh and whilst there are a lot of people who use playstations to play playstation games, there are also a lot of people who play xbox games on xboxes and pc games on pcs. If you're correct, and I can't see why you wouldn't be given your obvious depth of knowledge on the subject and no doubt years of research into it, there are only 20 people who play Transformers games online, then it's quite possible that Hasbro and Jagex are seeking to attract a different audience to the game than those who already play TF games online.

No I did not buy a Mac to play games on but the fact that this game is ONLY EXCLUSIVELY for PC's is bothering to me being that a majority of people use Macs.
I love Transformers but I dont play the Transformers games that much anymore cuz Im maxed out. Ive completed everything. Theres nothing left to do anymore.
But if they made this game for the Playstation as well then finally more than just those 20 people would have a reason to keep playing for along time to come as oppose to other TF video games.
People didn't stop playing TF games on the Playstation cuz we didn't like it. We stopped cuz theres nothing more to do.
Give us more to do…...ENDGAME content…etc.
Hasbro is missing the logic in this.

Hey there! PC Gamers are a massive audience so there's definitely a huge amount of room for a Transformers PC browser game. We're aiming to bring Transformers Universe to as many different browsers as possible, as well as look to offer Mac support in future as we do with RuneScape.

NiteStar wrote:I love Transformers but I dont play the Transformers games that much anymore cuz Im maxed out. Ive completed everything. Theres nothing left to do anymore.

Then Transformers Universe should be right up you street! We're aiming for the game to be like a hobby, something you will be able to enjoy and play for years to come. Unlike boxed games, being an online browser game means we can continue to offer more and more content on a regular basis. Take a look at our other game RuneScape, we've been offering fresh new content on an almost weekly basis for over 10 years! That's a lot of stuff to do!

NiteStar wrote:But if they made this game for the Playstation as well then finally more than just those 20 people would have a reason to keep playing for along time to come as oppose to other TF video games.

Jagex are experts in browser based online gaming, our MMORPG RuneScape has been one of the top online games for over 10 years and continues to do really well. We want the same to be true for Transformers Universe and so we've focused on developing it on a platform we know we can support well. Most gamers have access to a PC browser so there should be no shortage of gamers who can join in and play Transformers Universe.

Where are you getting your information from? Is there a reliable source that states more people use Macs than PCs, or are you just assuming so and/or using your own personal bias to win an argument?

considering every reliable source will show that the majority of people with desktops run a windows based OS, crying about something and using false info isn't going to win any arguments though.

Well in my years of computer using (15 years) a majority of people I meet and have met are always on MacBooks and iMacs, and Power Macs and iPhones and iPods and iTunes and so on and so on…etc, etc.
Only time I ever see PC's are in libraries and schools and offices and places of business.
And Im not trying to win an argument. I didn't even know this was an argument. You guys getting' all stirred up….lol
Im not even trying to argue about computers either. All Im saying and my point is that by Hasbro making this new soon-to-be Transformers game NOT available on the PS4 and excluding a large demographic of the world is unfair to other millions of Transformers fans and not a wise move on Hasbro's part…is all.

Hey, it's Mario and Luigi!
Shellshock reminds me of the Heavy from TF2.
BTW, does anybody know what's going on with Bumblebee's head? It looks like his Prime head, but with his G1/WFC horns.
In fact, it seems that all of the Prime-original characters (Ratchet, Arcee, etc.) had some modifications made to their designs.

It's probably so that they can actually get away with calling it "Universe" instead of calling it the "TF:Prime" video game. Honestly, I'm glad they've done this. If this were a game with nothing but straight up Prime designs, I wouldn't touch it. This is just enough different that it has me intrigued and very much excited about the designs of these characters. I'm hoping we see some of these in the Generations line by the start of 2015.

I gave serious thought to modding one of my Scout class Landmine/Dune Runner/Sandstorm figures to make a Catapult but they just aren't similar enough to turn out decent looking and I like those figures too much to sacrifice one of them for the attempt. fingers crossed that Hasbro, money grubbers that they are, will be pumping out figures for this game soon and I won't have to worry about making my own. Some of the trucks they have in the game trailer would make kick-ass figures. better than a lot of the stuff they are giving us now out of any of their lines and better than anything I've seen from the upcoming movie line by an infinite order of magnitude.

You know these founder packs don't actually give you advantages all it does is give you sweet stuff to use

besides as of now the exclusive Characters and Figurine you will be able to get the rest of these items through gameplay

in the end you win with tactics and wit and not with items.

Jesus to the H. friggin' Christ, the prices for those things are ridiculous. I could get a Metroplex with that kind of money.

I had hoped Jagex was over its micro-transaction period when they did that whole "Squeal of Fortune" shenanigans on RuneScape (which is now RUINED FOREVER due to the "Evolution of Combat" update), but boy, did they blow hard on it. :BANG_HEAD:

Dont defend it unless you've played it. You can get them in game sure, but just how hard are they going to make you work? Game industries are capitalising on this more and more each year. GTAV online or the recent Elder Scrolls online are good examples. You can put 60+ HOURS into a game like GTAV for that 1 car you want. OR you can make a microtransaction of $30+ For $1mil in game, all while Rockstar cuts your job earnings even thinner. Yeah, they actually do that. "free to play" games have been taking the fee to pay, pay to win, and pay for convenience thing through the roof, and Jagex is not exempt.

I doubt 1 game will make them change their tune.

Never said you couldn't. I said "don't defend it unless you've played it" Wich in hindsight was bad wording. What I meant by it was, "I wouldn't defend it unless i'd played it", It was caution, snide caution. Iv'e been up the creek with thes scams call games, GTAV being a pretty big contribution, wich no-one seems to talk about.

The whole free to play thing is what has kept me from even trying this game out yet. It ends up being a shitty game where you get killed by everyone else who decided to spend their money to equip stronger weapons and whatever else right off the bat, making you level and earn stuff through gameplay at an insanely slow rate. These games can go to hell. Slap a ridiculous price like $70 and I would still be more inclined to get/play this game than if it was based on this stupid "free-to-play" model.

All I want are action figures from the character designs. That is all.

i swear these companies are losing their goddamn minds, Ive seen some pretty out there prices but these are some of the worse. $45 is bad enough but $500 is insane. Worst part is its for a bunch of down load crap that does nothing & a figure that we have no clue what it actually is, f2p games are suppose to make their money through cheap transactions or "micro transactions" after launch not large sums prior. If your so desperate for money just make it a full fledged game & charge $60 not try & con people into paying for a free game. For $500 you could get a brand new PS4 and a couple of games or around 30 brand new deluxe figures. At least its not a pay to win game, well at least not yet anyway.

There are no weapons in the game

all of the guns are unique to characters and they are balanced

there are no advantages with buying the Founders pack none you just get cool stuff you can earn by playing you moron.

There is a picture of the damn figure in the news post.

Founders Packs are not something exclusive to Transformers Universe. They are limited time offers for those eager to experience more of what a game has to offer and to gain some special content to show that they were there at the beginning.

The Transformers Universe Founders Pack offers a collection of content at a lower cost than all the items would be together, as well as offering early access to some exclusive warriors and some special skins that are only available with the Founders pack. All this content will be helpful but is not pay to win, nor are they essential purchases if you want to have a fun time in Transformers Universe. They are however good value for the content included and feature some nifty exclusive content.

Transformers Universe is NOT pay to win and the Cybernite is only one of the packages on offer. New warriors in Transformers Universe offer new tactics and ways of playing but none are 'more powerful' than the others. The game is built around users teaming up and using tactics and strategy to win the match. A player who only has access to the initial characters will be able to take on a player who has unlocked everyone without being at a disadvantage. Case in point, I've been playing a few sessions of the Beta as a character other players hadn't had a chance to unlock yet and I still died a painful, humiliating defeat.

Items are there to help in a pinch but they won't ensure you dominate the battle field on your own. Anything that requires relics to purchase can be gained by everyone, whether they have bought a pack of relics or played long enough to earn them in game.

Your success in game is defined by your skill and ability to work with others, not how long you've been playing or how big your wallet is. Purchasing relics offer convenience, not success.

There already are figures based on their character designs.

Them saying they aren't planning any toys for the game is as baseless as TF: Prime claiming no figures would be made. They are already starting to break their own promise by releasing a figurine.

As for the game, I didn't know that the DLC didn't offer any advantages to gameplay, but the fact remains that its business model would have to be micro transactions if it wants to make any money (perhaps alongside sponsorships), and that makes for a crappy game that isn't really free.

Thanks for calling me names though. Now everyone here knows how immature mirageandjazz1197 really is.

A set with a non-transformable figurine for twice the cost of an MP? That'll go down well/

I've got nothing against F2P (Warframe remains one of my favourite games at the moment), but the way this has been reformatted from an online RPG into a ultra-competitive LoL-clone is… depressing on a personal level. Seems I'll be replaying WFC/FOC instead (unless RotDS is something other than a quick movie tie-in).

I've not played in a while, but Warframe is exactly the kind of model they should follow in regards Founders packs and interaction with their audience. Course, with Warframe there are regular, open and honest discussions about the game with lots of info.

Hi all,
Thought I'd drop in and try and clear up a little confusion. Transformers Universe is a free to play massively online tactical action game. We're not a LoL clone or anything like that, we're 3rd person with an emphasis on working closely with your team mates to tactically defeat your opponents.

We're free to play with optional microtransaction payments to purchase our in game currency 'Relics'. If you want to and you put in the effort you can unlock new content entirely for free by just playing the game. We're not pay to win so no amount of in game purchases will let someone dominate the battlefield. All warriors have their strengths and weaknesses and everyone can access items to give them a helping hand in a battle. Purchases are for convenience, not success.

So, the Founders packs! The top tier Cybernite pack does have a large number attached to it but it's a limited edition, so only a few will be able to own it and will give a huge amount of content for launch including all the starting warriors, a selection of exclusive skins, a figurine that you can see here and a selection of items, Relics and a season pass that will ensure you are sorted for a good long while. We plan on supporting and updating the game for years so you should definitely get your moneys worth.

Don't worry if you're not a fan of the Founders packs though, they're designed to offer great content to those who want them but not penalise those who don't. You won't be disadvantaged against a Founders owner in battle and you'll still be able to enjoy the warriors (Other than the Founders exclusives) and items when the game launches in the summer.

The Founders Packs will be available for a while longer so you've got plenty of time to decide if you want to get involved or not. We'll also be looking to invite more Beta players and showcase more of the game so now is a great time to register if you haven't already done so.

I struggle to see how £300 for the top founder's pack is a good idea. I think this game has far less of a potential market than Marvel Heroes, yet it had a top tier package pre-launch that was (IIRC) just over a hundred dollars, and a far greater variety of cheaper packs. The lack of info regarding exactly what the Combo Season Pass and Relics are/do doesn't help either. It just seems really, really expensive for something I know very little about in general, and for a free to play game in particular.

With Warframe, there was an open beta by the time I got into it, but because of that, I had no problem throwing in for a Founder's pack, and even the cheapest of those seemed to offer far more than these do. I get that as a Sort Of Free To Play game the idea is to get people hooked, then gently encourage them to pay more money to progress quicker but I'm not seeing a lot of value in these packs, especially when I doubt the game has the depth to keep me playing for very long. The high price on the Cybernite pack makes me wonder just how expensive stuff will be in-game as well. There has to be a saving, so buying stuff bit by bit over the course of playing the game will likely be uber-expensive of ridiculously time-consuming. Of course, I might be wrong, or it might just be so damn fun that I do play it loads, but I don't right now see myself spending much, if anything, on it.

Relics is the in game currency.

Transformers Universe has uploaded new videos showcases two new characters, Autobot Macro and Decepticon Flatline. The free to play browser based MOTA is scheduled for a full launch this summer. For now check out the spotlights embedded below:

Rendering himself invisible he'll bust out of a camo shield and launch a couple of grenades to get the party started right! Ask him nicely and he'll scramble rival signals, enabling his squad to get stuck in and cause some major mayhem.

Flatline has mastered the laws of physics, bending space-time to his whim - when his hammer falls expect lightning storms instead of earthquakes.

Time for some more character updates from the Transformers Universe MOTA game! Their official website has been updated with a grand total of eleven characters, six Autobots and six Decepticons, 6 of which are exclusive to the Founder packs and 6 are new starter bots. The starter bots you get for free when the game launches Starter bots are Monsoon, Triage and Overclock for Autobots and Drive-By, Hotwire and Rampart. We reported on the Founder packs a while ago. But check out below some very nice art for the newcomers: Decepticons Drive-By, Hotwire, Rampart, Astraea Deadheat, Derail, and Autobots Overclock, Triage, Monsoon, Ripraw, Doubletake and Anomaly.

Image

Dripping oil and shedding his peeling paint job due to cosmic rust, Drive-By is the silent Decepticon stalker who rolls up in the dead of night, kills his lights, and waits for the witching hour.

His quarry will know they've stumbled into a nightmare when their circuits spontaneously corrode, and Drive-By's laser rifle turns their shambling corpse into iron filings.

Image

Strap in and get ready for a fast getaway - Hotwire won't stop until he's spun maximum profit out of this galactic arms race.

With a catalog of black-market contacts that even Megatron doesn't know, there are no depths he won't plunder to secure a bargain. He values his Decepticon family as much as his bottom-line - when they come under fire he's got the weapons to heal or close the deal.

Image

Rampart is Megatron's mobile Fort Knox: reinforced by layers of armor bolted onto his superstructure, he has a cast-iron disposition welded for war.

No one's gonna get past this fortified Decepticon, let alone past his grenade launcher, minigun and axe. The word from the trenches is intruders that cross Rampart meet only painful endings.

Image

Take cover! Astraea rains down mines, grenades and rockets as though it was Unicron's second coming.

Infamously lustful for spilled Energon, this Decepticon can call on aerial backup to bury her enemies in crater-sized tombs. When Astraea emerges from the debris wearing a satisfied smile, you know the next salvo will be one shell closer to the apocalypse.

Image

Deadheat is all sleek, servo-seizing lasers and flurrying blades.

Blink and you'll miss him - but your sonic receptors will lock onto his screaming engine, and the motorcade of enemies failing to match this Decepticon's blistering pace. Pushing the red line, he floors it back into battle, slicing circuits and dicing diodes, before boosting off over the horizon.

Image

Derail is a Decepticon who's guaranteed to knock your enemies off track.

A fearless explosives expert, he leaves a trail of Autobot wreckage in his wake. Recognizing that his allies are sometimes as vulnerable as his enemies, he'll happily fix them up - after all, nuking Autobots doesn't count for much if you lose the war.

Image

Bodywork can be deceiving: Overclock's sleek, aerodynamic curves might stop traffic, but what his enemies should really worry about is the advanced technology packed under his hood.

With rockets retrofitted from a starship, a time-bending laser rifle, and a self-destruct system with a twist, Overclock is an Autobot spy who is a master of destruction as well as disguise.

Image

At the center of any Autobot attack is Triage, the short-fused medic.

With a psyche that can switch as quickly as the tide of battle, he's as likely to shock enemies with his defibrillators as he is to patch up his waning pals. When the sirens are wailing and the red lights are flashing, you can't be certain whether Triage will deliver surgical aid, or a surgical strike.

Image

A bringer of unhinged power, Monsoon delivers more destruction than a category 5 storm.

As good close-up as he is at range, when this Autobot rains over the battlefield there's nowhere to hide - enemies will be uprooted by his axe or washed away by his grenade launcher. When the sky clears, like a cleansing tropical sun shower he'll bring life back to his wilting allies.

Image

Steaming down the highway like a meteor on wheels, Ripraw hates to be late for the main event.

But time spent pumping iron pays off once he arrives on the battlefield - he hunkers down with heavy weapons and lobs Decepticons around like dumb-bells. When it's all over this hard-hitting Autobot bypasses the debriefing and rolls straight into the posedown.

Image

A sleek, sophisticated and seldom seen police enforcer, Doubletake is a master of reconnaissance.

With long-range scanning systems and pinpoint spatial awareness, he always picks the perfect moment to strike. By the time his targets realize their systems are shutting down, this Autobot is long gone, scanning for his next mission.

Image

The young and feisty Anomaly is spoiling for a fight and ready to take on the entire Decepticon armada solo.

An unusual hybrid of scientist and soldier, his toxic tendencies tend to leave the enemy infected and quarantined. But reverse him back towards your allies and you'll find this Autobot can clean up even the toughest battlefield fallout.

Whoa, hold up... Rampart?? Oh no you didn't, Jagex...

I got the proof right here that last summer I came up with my own bot called Rampart. A name which has never before been used. http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=96165#p1512574

In my description of him and little concept sketch, I described him as a) a Decepticon, b) a heavy hitter and c) a land vehicle with a pointed plough blade front end.

Coinkydink?
I dunno, people have sued for less is all I'm saying.
Just give us a figure of this guy so I can pretend I have had an effect on the canon TF world at large.
