Frank Welker, legendary voice actor and original voice for MEGATRON, to appear at BotCon 2015 on June 19th and 20th. This will be Mr. Welker’s first ever convention appearance. Fort Worth, TX - Fun Publications, Inc., licensee for Hasbro’s official Transformers Collectors’ Convention BotCon, announced today that Frank Welker, one of the greatest voice actors of our generation, will be the featured guest for BotCon 2015. From his first voice role as Fred on the Hanna-Barbera series Scooby-Doo, Where are you! to the voice of one of the most iconic villains in cartoon history, MEGATRON, the tyrannical leader of the Decepticons, Frank Welker’s characters have entertained kids of all ages kids for over 40 years! This year’s award-winning convention featuring Frank Welker will take place at the Pheasant Run Resort June 18thright outside of Chicago. You can make your hotel reservations now at BotCon.com. In the coming weeks, pop culture enthusiasts from around the world will be able to register for BotCon 2015 and purchase the “Frank Welker VIP experience” package. This package will contain ONE autograph from Frank Welker, ONE professional picture with Frank Welker, an EXCLUSIVE MEGATRON art print, an EXCLUSIVE MEGATRON souvenir pin and VIP seating at his moderated panel on Saturday. This package will be available to anyone who purchases the BotCon Primus package. I wonder how much Primus package + Welker will cost. Texas Comic Con in August will have Cullen and Welker and the combined VIP experience for both there will be $300. If you have to buy a Botcon Primus package just to buy a Welker experience on top of it, then I think I know which one is the better deal.

I imagine someone will record the panel, just like the many other Botcon panels that have been put up on YouTube over the last few years. Whether or not Fun Pub prohibits recording is another matter, as is whether those prohibitions will be effective. Ill bet recordings will pop up, though.

The Golden Ticket upgrade is an additional $300 added to the Primus Package, so last year it was $695.
So this year, Primus Packages should be over the $400 amount, with Golden Tickets being over $700, and the Frank Welker VIP Pass added to both being over $600 and over $900 respectively.

Please. Britney alone has almost 9 times his net worth, Avril 3 times. Frank is a successful voice actor and well renowned in the industry, but he's no celebrity. Paying over $300 alone for a Primus package is rough as it is, but then paying absorbanent celebrity prices for nostalgia purposes only? Well, anybody can spend their money how they wish as long as they're happy, but either Frank is asking for an absurd paycheck from FunPub to the point they have to charge extra to cover costs, or FunPub found another way to milk fans... neither are swell options

I plan on doing the Welker package, but I also plan on putting the toys from botcon up on ebay to help cover the cost. I also love in the Chicago suburbs so I don't have to worry about travel or lodging costs.

I plan on doing the Welker package, but I also plan on putting the toys from botcon up on ebay to help cover the cost. I also love in the Chicago suburbs so I don't have to worry about travel or lodging costs.

Yup and Peter Cullen was $180 dollers to meet and greet at the Calgary comic convention this year which was only last weekend and I was able to go but never got to meet him due to the absurd price.
Which sucks cause I was going to ask him for some tips on becoming a voice actor (It's my dream job and I make a damn good impression of WFC/FOC Megatron)
I'm surprised that nobody on this site reported that Peter was there and I only found out when I went on the website the day before I went there.

Botcon.com says that you have to be a memeber of the TFCC to get the Welker Package. I didn't see that in the press conference. Is this true? Can anyone verify? Thanks.

You must be a Transformers Collectors’ Club member to take advantage of this special event.

I'm actually agreeing with Rated X. I'm not going to BotCon. The only way to change my mind would be if the last reveal was so awesome my head literally exploded. But, probably not gonna happen. I mean, seriously, it already costs me $65 CAD to sign up for TFCC, and them I have to pay well over $100 to fly to Chicago, then I have to pay oh, was it $300? Add the Golden Ticket on there for $200 and then I have to pay a lot of money for the Frank Welker VIP Experience. Oh, and add the 'Cybertron's Most Wanted' box set on there, the two packs, and all the other stuff I would buy from the vendors there, and I'm paying over 1 grand for BotCon. And did I mention theremare only two figures I actually feel the need to get to sorta complete my collection? I'm buying Stepper and the Duocons on eBay, and that's it.

Another Generation 1 voice actor has been announced for BotCon 2015 and this guy is pretty quick. John Moschitta who voiced G1 Blurr and Animated Blurr and is also well known for being the Micro Machine man will be appearing at the convention.
