I'll likely be traveling for our weekend getaway so I'll probably miss all of this: Bad (?)
The First wave dosen't really have anything that I'll likely want: Good
If there are any unforseen surprises, I'll probably be able to catch up with them sooner than later .
Wasn't one of the *Energon Monsters* (Core or Deluxe) supposed to be in the first wave?

Munkky wrote:william-james88 wrote:Since there is no mention of any "Kingdom wave 5", it begs to question when that will be revealed.
My guess is it won't be. Pipes and Slammer will just start appearing at retail out of nowhere and then pre-orders will unceremoniously go up on the Internet something like a month or two later once Hasbro realise the cat's out of the bag. Keep in mind Hasbro never officially announced Shadow Panther, Waspinator or the main retail version of Tigatron.
Waspinator and Shadow Panther were officially announced through retailers, as happens a lot of the times.

Not according to the wave breakdown we got.

Doesn't seem to have hurt them too bad, though, Tigatron preorders were gone in like 1 day. Hope he makes it to retail so I can grab one.

Kickback's welcome. We need deluxe class Insecticons!
Blaster - I may get just to have. I'm happy with Label Blaster.
Bulkhead - welcome. I don't have him. But I still may not get him.
Laser OP - Make it Scourge and we'll talk.

We'll get Scourge (named Black Convoy). As for Magnus, we are getting a SG Magnus. Now smart money is on him using the Kingdom magnus mold, but you never know, they might use the Laser OP mode to better match the original comic.
Mistaken_Table wrote:Hey does anybody know how much Ravage is gonna be? And if he's the only exclusive Transformers figure I need to worry about securing?
The price was written above. I already secured my copy from EB Games which will be waiting for me friday morning. And yes, there is another exclusive, it's in the article. It's the Unicron Galvatron pack. Price should be around the $70 mark.
Gauntlet101010 wrote:New Stunticons, eh? While I have a problem with CW Motormaster, the rest were fine. I guess we'll see how Dragstrip looks and if he's CW compatible.
Laser OP - Make it Scourge and we'll talk.
I'm pretty sure he won't be CW compatible. Still don't get why people are hoping it is. I'd rather they give us something good and not force the integration of something from the past.

You're fun.
And sadly what I meant was that we aren't sure if we are seeing all those figures from wave 1 or just some of them. But yeah, any figure revealed would be a figure mentioned on the list in the article.
But don't worry, you'll get an Armada Starscream later.

Also, I'd rather just get Motormaster over all 5 Stunticons since I'm fine with the Stunticons I already have. And linewise, I wouldn't want Combiners to take over again. If they have all new ports I worry we'll get new versions of everyone eventually and that'd be a waste. The CW versions are fine.

o.supreme wrote:One of the strong play features of the Combiner Wars was that they could mix and match with anyone else ( homaging Scramble Combiners). Having "better" Stunticons/Menasor in Legacy that are not compatible lessens the desirability. Or may be a back door test to see if there is a market to do combiners All over again, which, as a fan of Combiners, I really don't want.
Funny. As a fan of Combiners, I want new ones. I have a feeling they will all still connect via some sort of Scramble City klooge, anyway. That's part of the gimmick. Plus, Menasor sucked.
Posted by King Kuuga on October 18th, 2021 @ 6:52pm CDT
I saw someone say that they're going for an 18 inch scale a la CW Devastator and POTP Predaking because of the commander class and all I can say is, god I hope not. I'm reasonably sure given the limbs are deluxes that he'll be in scale with the other CW combiners, more or less, but who's to say.
Posted by Sowndwave76 on October 18th, 2021 @ 7:48pm CDT
Personally, I wouldn't mind something new. When you stop and think that CW was out sometime around 2014-15, in a short couple years that's 8 years in the past.
I could see Hastak moving away from the mix and match CW system and focusing on making each team more unique. And I get that's not how the original toys were designed, but I think it's fair to say that that's not the aesthetic Hastak is ever going for moving forward (especially since that's basically what CW was).
Again, personally, if they were to make a really incredible Menasor, then I wouldn't care if each bot wasn't compatible with any other future combiners.
On the other hand, Hastak has to be aware that new combiner figures are going to sell just a bit better overall if they are compatible with the CW system...
I thought CW Dragstrip was kind of a weak link... There would be some out there that would buy just him IF he worked with that older system. Hell, there would be those who would buy all 4 limb figures but pass on the $90 Motormaster, and others who would get the new MM to use with their old CW limb figures.
Either/any way you look at it, Hastak could make more $$$ by using the CW system.
Some would probably argue Hastak may loose money if this isn't the case.
There are probably a lot who won't be willing to spend close to $200 for new Stunticons if they can't be mixed with CW figures.
Then there are those like me; unless the new Stunticons look really bad, I'm most likely all-in for all 5.
I even think I'd be good with having those guys as individuals if the combined form isn't stellar.
Since my 6 ER seekers are on all on one shelf, it could be pretty sweet to have Megatron, Soundwave, Legacy Blitzwing and the Insecticons displayed with the Stunticons.
But my gut says that if Hastak is committed to making a CC Motormaster, he and the others must be pretty on point... And with how good most ER, Kingdom, and SS86 figures have been I don't think that's a crazy assumption.

They did it for Kingdom, so it's a distinct possibility.

I wonder if we will end up seeing arm mode for Dragstrip this weekend. That would go a long way towards telling us whether there is any CW compatibility.
What I definitely don't care for is the 1 limb per wave release schedule. One of the best things about CW was getting a set of limbs all at once. Covid, Earthrise and Kingdom have taught me not to expect to see everything at retail, and not to count on pre-orders being available depending on what Hasbro decides is important to market.

Also, I'll let the experts determine... Is the Jurassic Park Jeep from the JP Crossover and Legacy Skids of similar tooling?
ok after looking at pics side-by-side that's a definite no.

Might consider what else that mould will offer us, though...
As for the Skids, FINALLY the g o o d Generations Skids I've been asking for. The alt mode is adorably cuboid, much better than the older Generations Skids imo.

Let's get to Bulkhead, that figure looks super simple for a voyager and while I can understand the use of fake parts, it looks really bad when you can see his fake wheels right there in truck mode
I also hate the overall look of the robot mode but I can understand the appeal of having G1ified versions of characters from other eras but since I have my own Prime collection, this is not needed. I will say this is making me FUCKING scared about Knockout.
As for Skids, ooof, not great. Reeks of cheap corner cutting. Like that rectangle behind his head. It's not even incorporated into the design, it's just there as a lazy bit. The G1 toy didn't have that. And usually Hasbro is able to hide unflattering gaps in their product shots, but I guess that's not a possible task here.
Won't be getting either of these.
Posted by frogbat on October 20th, 2021 @ 12:12pm CDT
Blkkhead… an interesting take and he looks pretty good and fun
the prob with bulkhead is that the og prime toy was awesome and really hard to improve on so I see why they went off on a tangent. Reminds me of earlier chug interpretations of g1 figures such as grapple and inferno.

while I disagree with how skids looks, there is no comparison, the previous generations was leaps and bounds better, and will remain my go to skids on my shelf. this is great news for me, because so far it looks like I can avoid spending more money on toys for a little while
unless I decide I need to build a certain throne from Tripple Takeover, in which case I may need to buy this Skids
