Also, interesting to see that Pizza vehicle in action in the trailer. Hopefully that means it will finally be coming out (image below).

It's a different talent pool of Toronto voice actors and a different voice director. A different team of different people altogether. Expect it to be a voice cast of people who have never been in a Transformers cartoon before, as Transformers has never been voiced in Toronto before.Stormshot_Prime wrote:This seems like the kind of show to seem cheesy at-a-glance, but is a little weightier than the trailer implies Also, why is the voice acting in this better than all of the WFC cartoons combined? I'm so glad these never got a major release in Japan. They're not Transformers in any way shape or form.

As long as it keeps the kids entertained and buying toys is the main thing. Might even be better than Cyberverse XD

Gonna be a hard bar to get over, but I think this looks like a lot of fun, so I think this will be a fun series in a different way than Cyberverse.
I'm excited for it!

Really? Not even during the Mainframe shows? Huh, didn't know that.

Welp, guess TFWiki's gonna add another entry to the "Ruined FOREVER" page.
Honestly, though, Transformers is an ecletic enough brand that can encompass different genres and approaches, including lighter ones, as previous preschool shows like Go-Bots and especially Rescue Bots demonstrated. And this show already has a massive advantage over TTG or "Thundercats Ho!": they're using new characters already designed to be comedic and silly instead of poorly adapting more serious pre-established characters to a comedy setting.
Now all that's left to see is if it'll be good random comedy or TTG-level of random comedy. Given the trailer so far, it can go either way, but I'm hopeful.

It's not the fact that it's "comedy" it's the fact that ANYTHING can be a "Transformer", and that even if that is "accepted", they crossed the line by making them made out of the same materials as their alt modes. This means the burger bot is literally made out of edible materials. It would have been funnier if they were all "metal" still, as if the humans tried to eat them, they would break their teeth, etc. Making them "proper" Transformers in this way would have been great. Heck, even Beast Wars/Machines TFs weren't actually organic, but rather a combination of both organic and synthetic components, usually mixed at a molecular level, to various degrees, depending on the show.
I'm not asking for a detailed, serious explanation of that in the show, but there should be some sort of visual/plot explanation in the first ep that gets it out of the way quickly for us to suspend disbelief and enjoy the show. The creators must know TF fans might be watching.
As for the other kiddie TF shows, I loved them. However, they still had some semblance of plot and didn't fart all over established TF lore, even at the most nonsensical of times.

Nah, two naysayers out of countless fans isn't enough. Besides, that page hasn't had any additions to its list in seven years.MaximalNui wrote:Welp, guess TFWiki's gonna add another entry to the "Ruined FOREVER" page.
You're about four years and 345 figures (plus 69 yet to be released) too late to be now complaining about the BotBots' core design aesthetic.primalxconvoy wrote:It's not the fact that it's "comedy" it's the fact that ANYTHING can be a "Transformer", and that even if that is "accepted", they crossed the line by making them made out of the same materials as their alt modes.

Just a simple suggestion, but maybe step back, take a look in the mirror, and completely re-asses your life. From obsessing over YouTubers to being butt-hurt over a cartoon ... you really do come across a whiny spoilt man-baby.
And hey, if that's your thing you're going for, kudos to you.
But seriously, it's a cartoon. Get over it.

Transformers Botbots is set to follow the wacky escapades of our favorite little Transformers that literally turn into anything and everything that might be found in a mall after an Energon cloud strikes and brings them to life. In this new clip, we see Burgertron finding himself in the lost and found, where he has found and is introducing himself to the Lost bots, a group of Botbots who all ended up in the lost and found and have no idea that the outside world exists. Burgertron gives us a nice bit of exposition for the series in the clip.

In this new clip, we see Burgertron trying to get the Lost bots, a group of Botbots who all ended up in the lost and found and have no idea that the outside world exists, motivated to return the phone of the mall security guard. Being lost bots, the botbots are more interested in playing with the phone and its many apps than actually returning it.

the theme song is pretty catchy and fun.
Age of Extinction Grimlock keeps showing up in cameos and it is really pure fun.
The one episode that is a Hamilton parody is also a ton of fun.
Overall, I am loving it!

It was an absolute BLAST!
There were so many fun things with the series. And there were a lot of fun references to both Transformers and the wider range of the world.
There was a Hamilton parody episode, that was wonderful.
Age of Extinction Grimlock cameod as an easter egg in maybe 3 episodes.
An episode about the botbots not realizing they were causing their mall to overheat an were bringing about their own destruction? hahaha
And then there was that season finale last second moment. Bigger TF lore indeed. And for once, the references were to a completely different area than G1. That was welcome and refreshing.
We did get a "freedom is the right of all sentient beings" too, and that was immediately undercut in the same way my brain was when I first heard that saying.
It was just great. They had a lot of fun making this, and they made it fun

I was also very surprised to see that there was an actual ongoing storyline with various plot threads continuing from episode-to-episode. The Lost Bots' quest to get back in good graces with the other tribes, Dave's attempts to uncover the truth of the BotBots' existence, Spud Muffin's gradual descent from arrogant jock to villainous schemer, all of these were given room to grow and develop over the course of the season. That really kept my attention and made me want to see where the story would go and what the payoff would be. Of course, the end result was predictable, but also apropos to the kind of message this show was trying to convey.
Clogstopper's gross-out humor didn't bother me too much, since it was less on the disgusting level of Revenge of the Fallen and more like Captain Underpants. Though, speaking of the live action movies, the very end of the season leaves me wondering if the universe of this show could be considered a Movieverse universe, since something very integral to the Movieverse pops up in the final episode. And there are a lot of live-action images shown throughout the show, soooo... maybe? I mean, not every Movieverse universe is in live action: There's comics, novels, and web cartoons too.
Overall, this was a fun show.

Sabrblade wrote:Just finished it. People have compared this show to The Amazing World of Gumball, a show I didn't watch. So, making a Transformers version was probably a good way to get me to watch a show like this. I found myself really enjoying it, more than I thought I would. The writing was really charming, clever, and at times downright hilarious. My favorite funny moment has got to be when Kikmee increased Dave's robot-dinosaur order quantity to 1000 right before he was instantly charged for that many. I lost it at his tidal wave of panicked reactions.

The Botbots' "awakening" as robots is similar to the bayverse Allspark's effect on everyday objects, right? Maybe the cartoon is just an aesthetic choice to represent that universe?

As long as you include info about Botbots not being available in all regions, such as Japan, then yes. I have included two screenshots; one is a search for the show via the Netflix app in Japan and the other is from an online conversation I had with Netflix customer service.
I can't confirm if the UK and other regions got the show (as the staff seemed to believe that only the US got it?) but from the, ahem, "3P" sourced episodes, it appears the show was translated into several other languages (although that might just be a reflection of multiculturalism in the US/UK/etc).

It's probably a similar case to how Rescue Bots and Rescue Bots Academy still haven't come to Japan either. It may have to do with the toylines of these three series having not been released at Japanese retail. The Netflix War For Cybertron Trilogy got dubbed in Japanese and had all three Siege/Earthrise/Kingdom toylines sold in Japan. Takara may not see the point in having these three non-war series dubbed in Japanese if they aren't selling the toys over there, which could be the very roadblock keeping you from watching all three of them legally on Japanese Netflix.primalxconvoy wrote:william-james88 wrote:Everyone here ok if I use their words in a review roundup?
