First Look at Upcoming Studio Series DOTM Bumblebee and SS86 Arcee

I am very excited to see sideways officially. Hopefully The Fallen is also being shown here.

I had a feeling Arcee wasn't really shelfwarming because while I do see some warming the pegs at the Walmarts and Targets I've been to, it's usually only a few...meanwhile those Blurrs, Kups, Wreck-Gars, and Sweeps just refuse to sell, heh!
They probably made sure not to pack too many Arcees per case or somethin'...

They are looking cool,though I'm not sure the 2014 Arcee looks more movie/cartoon accurate than the Earthrise one.

They releasd the entire list of reveals and these are the only SS toys, the rest are toys we already knew are coming.

T30 Arcee would be fine so long as they retool/redesign the lower torso, lower legs, lower arms, hips and face. Okay, the face isn't bad. It's just that it's too motherly? kind? non-threatening? I can't quite place it but that face just doesn't look like the face of a Transformer. I just laugh at her when she's holding weapons. Especially the swords. Or more like tries to hold the weapons that is.

It's a good looking figure don't get me wrong, it's just pretty trash when it comes to doing anything other than standing straight upright. It's always been trash too. I never really cared much for it. It has a decent amount of articulation but just doesn't do anything convincingly or dynamically. It's just not a fun toy. Say what you will about Earthrise Arcee but at least she's fun as an action figure.

That silhouette of Arcee doesn't quite look like a stock T30 Arcee though. The lower torso looks like it's completely reworked. Normally it's rounded off but it looks very angular in the silhouette. You can see that there looks like a trapezoid in the middle of it. The hips look like they've been reworked as well as their silhouette doesn't quite line up with what the figure's stock hips look like. Both could just be my imagination and wishful thinking getting away with itself as it's late and it's a silhouette. But that lower torso definitely has something different going on with it. There's no way I'm imagining that. I just hope she can actually hold her weapons for once though without risk of breaking the hands, the weapons just falling out or them not going all the way into hands due to intentional blockages. Ankle pivots sure would be nice too.

My original T-30 Arcee is badly yellowed so I may get that "new" SS86 version to replace her.

The only use of the T30 Arcee mold I don't have is the one from the Platinum box set so I look forward to adding this one to the collection.

I think we can be sure the robot chest and the car's front and bonnet will be remolded, as they changed those parts for the Revenge of the Fallen release. The collar piece and the thigh pieces that form the front of the back wheelwells are a maybe. As for the tires, the back of the car and the lower wings, I doubt very much that they'll change those.

There is a post on Reddit that is of what appears to be the T30 Arcee with a remolded rear that folds better in bot mode and closes the gaps in alt mode. She also looks to have rocker ankles. Ill pull the image from my phone and DL it here

Wile similar, that doesn't look like a straight re-use of the t-30 arcee. Proportions and shape are different. also the shell backpack seems different as well, with the wheels being the only part that looks the same. it could be based on the t-3o mold, like how ER starscream was based on classics. part of that backpack, and some of the shoulder area makes me think of the legacy elita-1 though.

This is the photo from reddit, make your own decision but it sure looks to me like T30 remastered.

I agree, though I think the back of the car is more likely since they need to add the spoiler.

Yeah when I saw it posted there then that image I said to myself the exact same thing, I even took my T30 and earthrise to look at the comparison. It looks like they may have given her the ER head too which pleases me.

zooming in and trying to clear up the image a bit, it looks like there is quite a bit of new tooling here, and not just on the even worse backpack. her thighs, though mostly obscured are definitely all new, and sadly hollow. her calves look the same, but with the new ankles may have new tooling. her arms, or at least her forearms seem a little different as well, missing the tab slots. though the biceps do look to have the same hollow bits. the only parts that look like direct re-use seem to be the chest, and the front fenders. Betting her "belly" area is the same, though cant tell due to the text

I have been sitting here all morning doing the same, trying to figure out what looks reworked but the damn letters have to be in the way.. Also Looks like the wheels are not in the back of her thighs anymore and must be part of the reworked rear section.

yup, sadly seems they put more shell into her backpack. while not a fan of that, it does look like it will make the core robot mode more proportional. will have to wait for pics without text to be sure.

Thanks to Cyberbishop, we were made aware of a n interesting picture on Redditt. It looks exactly like the obscured teaser image of SS86 Arcee posted by Takara except in full colour. This is the T30 Arcee mold with some changes. Now, can this all be hoax, but the odds of that are slim. We'll know the truth within 24 hours.

Not to mention that SS Sludge has been picked up in Hong Kong. Ill look for the guy that posted the pix and see if I can screencap it.

They're the open grip hands aren't they? Reviews I've read on the base Arcee T30 figure said they were only practical for her weapons.

I have been looking at a couple of the newer pix next to the T30 Arcee toy and my speculation is that she transforms identically to the T30 version with her calves pegging right next to the front tire, and the back portion folding out accordingly.

The new chest piece in bot mode looks great too!

I know T30 keeps coming up in conversation, about Arcee but what about the Legends version? I know it was basically the same with (arguably) better paint apps, but Im guessing SS86 will have an all new deco altogether, so it doesn't matter much.

Still, I know until late in TR (Trypticon most obviously) there were varying range of differences between Hasbro and TT product. Is there anything specific to Legends Arcee someone would want to see in SS86 as opposed to being lifted from T30?

Speaking of which... despite being almost a decade old, you can still get T30 Arcee at BBTS. Until recently she was at the bargain bin price of $11. They must finally be dwindling in supply, because her price went up to $25. Chromia is still available also for $20. The last 2 still available toys from that line.

Is it truly the T30 mold? I could believe it's simply retooled to have all the new fixin's of current figures, but it looks like it's simply reusing engineering to me.

Fair enough! I honestly didn't really want T30 Arcee as it was and I didn't like that the WFC Arcee was a total shellformer...this one at least seems to be the better of the two.

That's cause BBTS did the same thing they did with Battle Unicorn two decades ago. Hasbro made a second run of that wave but BBTS was the main purchaser, so they had all the stock.

Legends Arcee had the better paint apps, they looks exactly like the show. Would have been nice is SS86 version would have taken note, but they didn't, giving it a more bland deco. So, in the end, the Legends Arcee is still the most accurate, paint apps wise.

I wish I had picked up Takara/Tomy legends Arcee..

In the thumbnail we have a shot that aims to answer the most pressing question from these new reveals: what exactly is this SS86 Arcee? Well, it is a new toy which has half the tooling of the thrilling 30 release (the upper half) and new tooling for the lower half. So we have a flatter, more toon accurate, stomach instead of the prominant womb outline the T30 release had. You can see comparison with the Takara version of the T30 mold below (the new one is the one with less accurate paint apps). It has a lot more car shell than the T30 version, covering the side of the car, like the Earthrise version. This is integrated into the backpack. Of course, this has already spawned comments claiming the backpack is too big, and from there you can see how Hasbro thought giving us a removeable part of the backpack with the Earthrise toy would have been a good idea. Well at least now G1 fans have lots of options when it comes to arcee. For a smaller back pack with partsforming but a more accurate car mode, you have the Earthrise toy. For a smaller backpack with no partsforming but a less accurate car mode, you have the T30 toy. And for a more accurate car mode and no partsforming backpack, you have this toy which does have a larger backpack. What options works best for you?

Along with arcee we have reveals for the DOTM Bumblebee, which is a slight remold of the ROTF Bumblebee, and ROTF Sideways which is a new mold.

Man that new backpack is definitely longer.. I'll still nab her on sight.

think i'd be tempted to buy one of the £8 shelf warming Earthrise Arcees over a £22 SS86 deluxe. They could have at least upgraded it like the oversized KO did.

Legends Arcee is still the best Arcee to me. While I totally get how this new one and the earthrise one are more accurate in alt mode, I always loved the attempt at Takara to offer more vehicle integration, which homaged the original design/conception of the character. She is more of a legit transformer toy to me rather than a shell former. Not knocking anything, just saying my preference.
