As much as I hate the Bayformers, that actually looks interesting. Whether or not its interesting enough to burn cash on remains to be seen. >:oP

Since there are multiples of many of the RotF constrcticons, there's a potential for many more releases as alternate parts for Devastator. I'd still maybe like to see 2 alternate deluxes for the right arm giving us a 9 component Devastator instead of 8.

He looks good with either a red or yellow leg.

I hope SS goes on long enough to give us a Demolishor in addition to Skipjack, and maybe through in a Payload and someone else in there too, alternate options.

Gosh I love this line

First time I've noticed Hightower's head and neck being used as a thumb. Looks a little silly, mine might go thumbless or maybe I'll just pop his head off...

Hope it's possible to turn Scrapper over without affecting the elbow, otherwise his thumb and fingers end up reversed.

Hightower's hook is supposed to be attached behind his head to make a proper clawed thumb, it isn't in that images

The combined duo are pretty flexible. I've seen quite a few combined arm options with one of Scrapmetal's "figures" turned around and used as a thumb or the treads/legs used as thumbs.

Even with the claw mounted the official way the head is still there looking derpy.

Since we have some visual confirmation of Skipjack, hopefully we’ll see him and Sentinel at NYTF. I’m looking forward to seeing Devastator in the more usual hunched-over pose.

Also tried recreating SS-49 Bumblebee’s pose on the box art!

Same here. If we do get Skipjack, I can have Bumblebee fighting Rampage as a display.

"Skipping Jackhammer" :P

Hasbro sometimes is a bit... oblivious when it comes to names?

Redeco Hightower into Hook.

Retool Mixmaster into his alternate-headed version and name him after Quickmix.

Redeco Overload in purple and name him after Frontloader.

Redeco Scrapper in red and name him after Buckethead.

Redeco Scrapmetal (here's the fun one) in an all new blue and red deco with the name "Rumble" in honor of Cybertron Scrapmetal's Japanese name (and as a fun mockery of the FIRRIB/RIRFIB debate by giving him both colors). ;)

I so need and want those two final Constructicons. This might be the most ambitious combiner I've ever seen from Transformers, and from all appearances, unless there's something majorly bad, they'll have stuck the landing, too. Nice job, designers! :-D :michaelbay:

My biggest concern is I don't think this will be able to hunch. I have Mixmaster coming in the mail so I can see how he connects to Scavenger then, but I am not sure if the head can angle up much more, he is already looking way down when standing up right. I really hope there is a way to make it work because Devastator needs to be on all fours.

Assuming overload is the red one, what kind of construction equipment is he supposed to be exactly?

Don't front loaders normally have scoops? Looks more like a flat bed / dump truck hauling a big round thing. I really hope that part can be removed or collapse.

I got my wires crossed. He's an articulated dump truck. Specifically a modified Komatsu HD465-7.

Ah cool that it's based on a real vehicle. They all look plausible, but are all the SS Constructicon toys based on real life vehicles? Those giant construction vehicles can get pretty crazy.

I'm only 2/8 of the way in and I have no concrete plans to finish or not finish Devastator. The combined figure they just showed off sure isn't doing a good job selling it to me. I do find the individual ones that are monster-like a lot of fun and may continue to pick them up on whims and sales.

So I know what that is, the Red one, WIth them using names that aren't original constructicons I'm fully going to admit to not knowing who is who.

I'm talking about long red truck with what looks like part of a space bridge on the end.

He’s actually an articulated motor scraper; they look like articulated dump trucks but aren’t they scrape up excess dirt from the ground to even out areas without making piles everywhere

They're modified so they're not licensed, much like how the original toys were... Except for one: Mixmaster. So far he's the only confirmed licensed toy, specifically of a Mack Granite (probably because DotM Megatron was a licensed Mack M915, gotta make the licenses stretch :))

So not licensed but not necessarily fictional either. The movies toys tend to use licensed vehicles and these looked a lot closer to real life vehicles than the CW Constructicon amalgamations. Cool cool thanks.

That's Mixmaster's Vortex Grinder that becomes Devastator's neck. I guess they couldn't integrate it into Mixmaster himself and so included it with Overload to haul around.

But what did Vortex ever do to Mixmaster?

Yeah, I really loved that figure - until the entire rear bumper assembly cracked into pieces... gotta love clear plastic
after dropkick and black-and-red movie drift, I think I've sworn off car formers with clear plastic in them, they cost too much for them to just snap like that =;

Might be time to call it quits then. More and more figures are being made with the stuff across all lines. After a quick glance and off the top of my head, Hightower is the only recent figure I've gotten without the stuff (including Siege).

I feel like it's only painted clear (white clear, not colored clear) plastic; I found it happens most in the car formers cuz the entire car body shell is made out of it and then painted, and the paint probably causes extra friction with the pins, or the plastic just can't take the strain of the pins while being that thin

I dig, but I was referring to any figure that uses clear plastic (painted or not) as part of a joint (either pinned, clipped or ball joint). Just seems to becoming more and more common. It's a shame clear plastic is just so damn cool.

Sure is cool, but its lack of flex compared to other colors (it's still all ABS) kinda restricts its overall use. Hasbro/TakaraTomy are well aware of that: why do you think Combiner Wars has no clear plastic outside TT's Groove and its retools?

Doesn't exist outside of dedicated lines and the cartoon switched their colors.

Luckily the Constructicons all have no clear plastic, so there's that.

Considering potential breakage and all you see through the windows is robot junk anyway, I'd rather them just use solid plastic and paint it a logical color for the figure. Unfortunately my only options are to not buy the figure or to not transform it. I'll probably never transform TR Weirdwolf again :( , but wasn't the failure the solid color plastic :-?

Nature of the beast. Worrying about is like worrying about scale or which Frumble is red.

Unfortunately my only options are to not buy the figure or not transform it. I'll probably never transform TR Weirdwolf again :( , but wasn't the failure the solid color plastic :-?

One of the constructicons' strengths - for me - is proving thst you can paint windows and have it look good, besides, you're right, there are few mainline figures that have clear windows that don't have junk in them, so it defeats the purpose and potentially ruins the figure :HEADHURTS:

Siege Ironhide comes immediately to mind. That metallic blue used on the Constructicons looks outstanding. I've admired it on both Scrapmetal and Hightower and wouldn't mind it used on every figure, except for the ones where red, purple, black or some other color would make more sense or look better.

I’ve thought about painted windows on future Bumblebees - that would fix the multiple shades of yellow issue that movie Bumblebees have had since. . . Well, always. The yellow paint never quite matches up with the yellow plastic.

Yet the orig mixmaster (G1 colors is the only one I've had) looks so much better for having the cthru windows and clear plastic for the headlights.

I'm curious, are the clear parts on that figure separate parts?

Soundwave Superior.

Everything else Inferior.

This is an awesome figure, I am so glad I waited 9 years for him, it was worth it. This is a great beefy bot with some great silver paint

So has your ranking of silver Studio Series car bots changed?

Hahaha, I thought maybe he got to ya. It's a cool mold for sure. Mine haven't migrated to the shrine yet and is still camped out on my desk.

Great Soundwave pics! Can't wait to get one and add one more to the DOTM Decepticon cast.

I am kinda wishing I had picked up an ROTF Starscream, but the lighter base color was offputting (It does still look alright, though). If Studio Series goes on for long enough, I'd like to see a DOTM Starscream with a dark gray base color (along the lines of the HFTD Leader) and the arm-mounted gatling gun/missiles to complete the Starscream arsenal.
