Yeah the prime insecticons are kinda beefy.

The Commander Hardshell looks great, though. Now, gimmie the pics of Trailcutter.

What Deluxe? He doesn't have a Deluxe.

Commander scale figure? Does that mean like Predaking big, or does it mean Cybervers Commander big?

All of the Insecticons are equally giant sized and of the same level of sentience.chaosmage42 wrote:might be worth getting as a troop builder -a lot of the insecticons were smaller than the 3 named ones -i presume they were little more than drone level in the brains department -a deluxe size would be nice but these would also be useful for the smaller dumb ones -also ive been doing a lot of con troop building with vechicons so some bugs would be a nice change of pace
The only size class with the name "Commander" is the "Cyberverse Commander" class. This is obviously a Cyberverse toy seeing how simplistic it is.Nemesis Maximo wrote:LOST Cybertronian wrote:Some bugs are bigger than others. By his comment about the THREE named ones, I think chaosmage may be referring to the G1 trio, since outside of "Hardshell" I don't believe there were any other named insecticons in the Prime series, were there?
As I recall though even in the G1 anime all of them were roughly the same size... *shrug*
Either way it's a nice little design. I like it.
Hope they do put the facial scars on a deluxe or voyager though, if one is made.

In the cartoon, no. but in the FOC game, Hardshell was among Sharpshot and Kickback as the only named ones, but by the time of the Prime cartoon, Hardshell looks like everyone else instead of having his own unique body and size.DinobotSix wrote:By his comment about the THREE named ones, I think chaosmage may be referring to the G1 trio, since outside of "Hardshell" I don't believe there were any other named insecticons in the Prime series, were there?
The 1984-1987 G1 cartoon wasn't an anime.DinobotSix wrote:As I recall though even in the G1 anime

Hmm. My research shows that the last time a toy called just Insecticon got released was 2010, so maybe they lost the name? Or the tattoos were outside the paint budget. Either way, I'm buying the hell out of it to make my insecticon army.

In all fairness, it's more that everybody else looks like Hardshell than the other way around.

Logically, the minions' design would be based on the leader?

Hardshell isn't the leader. Where'd you get that idea? Sharpshot is (or was) the leader.

Wait, he'll have gigantic beetle-head back kibble, won't he Oh well, still cool. Do some "battle damage" and they'll be great troop builder in either mode

Hardshell isn't the leader in Prime, he's just the roughest toughest Insecticon. They don't seem to have a hierarchy.

Reminds me of DotM Commander Hatchet, which was an excellent mold for its size, and a good stand-in for the lack of a Deluxe version.
Will definitely consider Hardshell.

Of course, they're a bit late as Hardshell is dead.

I often use the term in it's general sense of animated entertainment, not the strict sense of Japanese-originating animated entertainment.
I could have said cartoon, if that sounds better. =)
As for the insecticons, cool! I've yet to check out FoC. Will be nice to see more than Hardshell. Do they also give them unique models? Hopefully. I find the same-look insecticons of Prime, while logically sensible, to be visually dull.

Yep. Even the swarming Insecticons look diverse (with different sized ones all having their own designs, but still duplicated en masse).DinobotSix wrote:As for the insecticons, cool! Quick answer: Because I wanted to.
More elaborate answer: I´m talking about this particular toy not being as organic as I would like it to be, not about the Prime Insecticons being the most organic robots ever. I think Hasbro can do a lot better, even for a Cyberverse toy. They don´t look terribly mechanic either in the show, they´re more like monsters or creatures, that´s the kind of toy I want. I guess I should also clarify that I had the BW Robot Modes in mind, not the beast modes.
By the way, thanks for sharing those images, they´re pretty cool.

Janus Prime wrote:I´m talking about this particular toy not being as organic as I would like it to be, not about the Prime Insecticons being the most organic robots ever.
I didn't say that, but what did you honestly expect? This is a Transformers: Prime toyline; they're made to look like the show. And, some of the paint aside, this is an accurate Insecticon. Making it any more "organic" would result in an inaccurate figure.
Also note that the figure is standing upward. The head is popped up (because there's a gap) and the pelvis is out. Lining up the legs with the pelvis and pushing the head down further gets the figure the show accurate hunch.

That's the kind of toy we've got.

Not monster looking enough for me. It´s like the skeleton from Scary Movie 2, it´s fine if it´s disturbing or gruesome for you, but I just want to kick it and laugh.

It was a rhetorical question.
Not monster looking enough for me.
Because Hasbro stood him up straight like a humanoid.

It doesn't have to be disturbing or gruesome. It's show accurate. I don't ask for anything more than show accuracy.

It transforms into a gun. When they're not in battle, it's a regular horn.
