He's got new null rays!
And they're shown on the art, see
And I must say, the mold works well on so many levels.

Good eye, I looked up the part and the design is a match. Could anybody who has both Blitzwing and Masterpiece Starscream see if they fit?

Using the null rays from the US version of MP SS - yes, they fit.

Ok, to that I'll say...
Well played TakaraTomy, well played.

Anyway, I know a lot of people aren't liking these because they're repaints, but I think Starscream looks really cool. However, due to the exclusive (and expensive) nature of the line, I won't be getting them. Still, pretty badass.

Is this the first time a G1 deco has been used on a Voyager sized figure to represent Starscream?
I couldnt see them doing all the seekers as that would be crazy, but a set of G1 coloured Voyagers is long over due!
Make all the Cloud figures Toys R Us releases please!!

There was that G1-colored 2007 Movie Voyager Starscream:robotmel wrote:Is this the first time a G1 deco has been used on a Voyager sized figure to represent Starscream?

Starscream's ghost possessing Blitzwing.
Because Blitzwing was originally supposed to be the main character in that episode before Flint Dille revised it. (And in an interview, he admitted that he ruined Megeen McLaughlin's story due to running out of time)
Not sure if the original script ever surfaced, or if there would've been any reason for Starscream to possess anyone besides Cyclonus, but a new micro-continuity is a new opportunity to homage more 'What-If's of TF history, yes?
Maybe going out on a limb, but it's something.

It just mixes things in an odd way.
Not a BAD way, mind you, just odd.
Now that Brawn from Bulkhead is still all kinds of fail.

a thought occurs to me, this is Takara Toy Bio continuity right? the continuity wherin the Quintessons have built Guiltaur and Overcharge drones yes? who's to say that Screamer hasn't possessed an Overcharge?

But Starscream... I don't know what to think of him. Why they would use the Blitzwing/Doubledealer mold with MP Seeker null-rays is beyond me. I don't hate it, but, as a Starscream nut, it definitely doesn't look right.

Nope, Cloud is an all new continuity altogether. It's similar to TFCC's TransTech one, down to designations for alternate timelines. It limits itself to the G1 and BW cartoons (or Primax alpha streams for you TransTech nuts) for now however.

I can see it now: GDO Hot Spot as IDW Pyro (which... actually wouldn't be a bad idea).

Many people do wish that the Hot Spot tooling had existed at the time that BotCon 2010 had its Pryo figure.Mindmaster wrote:Mkall wrote:Can't say I'm all that interested in this. If this is how they're introducing the GDO Voyager molds in Japan, I'm curious to see what the others will look like.

Some have put the Hot Spot head on their BotCon Pyro, incidentally enough.
The final two GDO Voyagers, Hot Spot and Powerdive/Ransack... who could they be repainted into?

Firebot and Makeshift?
Firebot already got Hot Spot's deco once, and Makeshift's the first dual-rotor that springs to mind who isn't Highbrow or Obsidian. The latter also deserves to be honored as the best original name to come out of Armada by finally having it attached to a non-tiny toy. (No, Prime Wheeljack doesn't count)
